Recommendations please!

A Merlin's Meadow customer is looking for a dog sitter to use on a semi regular basis for their three Labs. Has to be a dog sitter rather than home boarder, person would stay in the customers home. This is a message from them:

"Hello all. We are looking for dog sitters to look after our 3 labs at our house when we go on holidays. The one at the front is reactive to other dogs and humans that he doesn’t know, so he would need a few meets to become comfortable with you first. (Gloucester)"

XL BULLY BAN

I just wanted to let any customers with "XL Bullys" know that they can continue to use the fields once the ban comes in and can do so without the need for leads and muzzles. This is copy and pasted from an email from my insurance company;

FIELD HIRE
As your insurer, you will be covered to hire out your private fields for an XL Bully Dog on the following basis:

1. The dog is registered with the index of exempted dog (IED) and a copy of the life certificate is obtained and provided to us in the event of a claim.
2. A copy of the public liability insurance certificate for the dog is obtained and provided to us in the event of a claim.
3. The dog handler ratio is 1:1 with their handler at all times
4. The dog is Neutered – in line with Government Rules
5. The dog is Micro Chipped
6. The field is private property with no public access passing through
7. The field is securely fenced and locked so the dog cannot escape
8. The dog is kept on a lead and muzzled until the gate is shut when entering the field
9. The dog is put back on a lead and muzzled before opening the gate to leave the field
10. You can remove the lead and muzzle once inside the secured field

Obviously points 8-10 aren't relevant in Merlin's Meadow Dog Parks as carparks are within the fencing.

The fields aren't drying up anytime soon although dogs do seem to be enjoying the water! Therefore I will leave the fields open at the reduced price of £10 an hour for up to 4 dogs.

It was due to be dry the last three days, hence waiting until Tuesday to open. It did nothing but rain 😑

This is Monday afternoon with Pogo. I didn't go into the back field, looked too wet but I walked round the first field.

I will open tomorrow as I understand some people are happy to book, dogs will need a shower after and wellies are a must! All slots for November are £10 for up to 4 dogs.

Just message me if you want to book, I won't write a list of available spaces here.

I am not leaving water out, or toys. Also, please take p**p home with you as if it goes under again this year, don't want bags of p**p floating around.

It's only gone and drained! I'll leave it a few days to dry out further and open again from Tuesday 14th.

All November slots at Tewkesbury will be £10 if 4 or less dogs as it will be very muddy!

I'm still getting a lot of messages re booking Tewkesbury. It is 5ft under water currently so definitely out of action for a wee while! You can just see some tops of fence posts in the pictures 🙈 luckily nothing will have floated out as I couldn't save a lot of things as the water was rising so quickly yesterday. Hopefully getting a boat out on there this week 🤣

If you are booked into Redmarley during this heat, you must sit under the trees near the top of the field. The slope creates a wind tunnel, it's lush. There is 4pm, 6pm and 8pm still available here today, more at Tewkesbury.

This is a very boring video, I would fastforward parts 🤣 but I've walked the boundary of Tewkesbury so people booked can see what it's like. I don't think it will go under, just get wetter if it does indeed pee it down tonight. As a precaution I have tied everything floatable down and removed everything else. Poo bins, picnic benches, table, chairs and shelter are all that's left 😁

My poor Rocket! It was his 6th Gotcha Day yesterday, saved from the pound and then he had several months in emergency kennels. Yet I have the audacity to bring him out in the rain!

First cut of the year at Redmarley. Left a long section at the back again for wildlife/dogs that like long grass 😁

Tewkesbury update! This is field one at 7.15am Wednesday 23rd

Here's my Redmarley video, 11am. It's windy but nothing more than a windy day. No issues on the roads that I've come across, I've been Tewkesbury to Malvern to Redmarley. Tree was down in Maisemore if coming from Gloucester but now cleared.

All is calm at Tewkesbury 7.15am 18th. I've taken a video of the first edge at Tewkesbury as it's the wettest and muddiest. Top end of the fields are completely dry. The water is still holding back from the ditches, close though! I have confirmation that Redmarley is fine this morning. I'll be heading there for 11am with my crew, will take a vid then ☺️ Oh one thing actually, Tewkesbury smells when you get out the car! It's like countryside and the sea mixed together 🤢

Hey do you want to see a really boring video that makes me really happy?! 🤣🙈 The sluice gates are open, the ditches are draining into the river 🥳 hopefully they stay open as Saturday is going to be very rainy!
