💫Twinkle is ready for adoption💫

Sweet Twinkle has come so far in the 3 weeks at her new foster home. She had a rough start in life, and its so wonderful watching her grow into a funny, quirky, loving girl. At 6months old, Her favorite things are racing through the snow and playing with her foster friends.
Life is all about play hard, rest hard ❤️ when Twinkle is ready for down time, she is the most cuddly, snuggly pup on the couch or in bed. **see comments for photos**

Twinkle travels so well and was a perfect angel driving Sicamous to Calgary and overnight in the hotel.
She is great on a leash and while still timid being put in new experiences, she is getting braver and more confident with each outing. Her recall is ok when treats are involved so will need someone to keep working on that - sometimes the smells are too enticing to want to listen 😁
She is crate trained and hasn't had one accident overnight or in the house during the day!

Twinkle will do best in a home with a patient and loving handler that will spend the time she requires to gain her trust. She still gets a bit nervous meeting new people and dogs and shows her anxiety by barking. If feeling overwhelmed, Twinkle sometimes goes to her crate, where she feels safest - with her blanket and favorite duck.

Twinkle is currently being fostered in a home with 2 adults and 3 dogs (3yr old females and a 4month old male).

FOR ADOPTION: I'm so lucky! No longer shivering in cold lifting paw from frozen ground! I love chewies and a Furever home! I'm a 5 month old Great Pyranees -Who-Know-What mix with G- R- E - A - T personality! Tad shy after homelessness but warming up fast!
I like dogs, cats, kids and people with food 😍

They named me Freckles. Not! Guess no original ideas as that time!☺️🙃

It's sooo cold out in Alberta now, a bad cold snap, one of the puppies, now named Zara, would have been born in frigid temperatures if mama not rescued, and only 3 days after had Zara and 5 other precious babies. GIGI UPDATE: Gigi is getting adopted. After many months living homeless and rescued feral, little by little after rescue and living with her foster family in Canmore, she learned to trust. With the help of regular opportunities to go on walks/leash walks around the neighborhood, help from her foster-dog and mom, she endeared herself within the family and their dog, she began to fit in so much so, they want to move forward to adopt.🥰😘

What a difference a day makes!!
Found alone and terrified, dodging traffic on the highway and rescued by an angel passing by. Fluffy Bear here was malnourished and filthy but oh so grateful to be saved. Don't be fooled by all that fur, he is skin and bone under there. He got a bath and felt so good. He has his first vet visit today for vaccinations then he will be ready for his happily ever after. Affectionate and eager to learn, gentle and extremely sweet natured Fluffy Bear will make an incredible addition to any family. Until then he is loving his wonderful foster family in Calgary who have 3 super fun kids and another pup for him to play with 🥰Large-ish when full grown.🐾

Sunday Pupdate!! Santanas puppy's are growing fast, motoring around and really starting to show their individual personalities! These beautiful babies won't be ready for adoption for a little while yet but they do need names! What do you guys think?

Hello everyone, is there anyone available with a truck or SUV to help move a donated large, heavy, insulated dog house from SE/SW Calgary to Cochrane?
Also we are in need of shelving for dog blankets and supplies. Does anyone have any don't need/not using? And rags!🥹😏

I'm a sweet, playful, goofy, young Shepherd mix named Angus that get along with everyone and love kids! Somehow I ended up with a p*e problem and the vets have not been able to diagnose why. I'm for adoption. Do you have a dog that needs a dog like me to run with?

An incredibly darling dog 2 year old Shepherd mix Gus is for adoption. His charming personality wins over all dogs, kids, cats and people....but one big thing, he has a urinary problem the vets have not been able to diagnose. He p*es a lot and has to be taken outside regularly to due his business. Hence not a dog to easily place, but watch the fluffy boy here and see he deserves to find a home that can handle his excess p*eing....🥹...if you could use big doggie diapers and can be outside with adopter often. And no carpets!

Meet sweet, goofy, loveable Twinkle!

About Twinkle:
🔎 Mixed Breed
🎂 approximately 6 months Old
🎓 crate trained, working on leash walking
🚺 House trained
🐶 currently fostered with a 4month old and 2 x 3yr old dogs
😸 Not tested with cats
👧 not tested with kids
⚖ 35 lbs
🏥 dewormed, vaccinated (1st shots)

Personality: Twinkle is a timid, shy girl upon meeting who needs a little extra love and patience to come out of her shell and gain her confidence. She will bark when nervous and retreat to her crate until she feels she can trust those in her surroundings. Once you gain her trust and she feels comfortable, she transforms into a loving, playful, cheeky girl who adores curling up beside you for some affection. Her joyful nature shines through as she enjoys interactive playtime with toys and gentle games with her humans and canine friends.
💖Her foster mom and dad adore her and fall in love with her personality more each day.

Twinkles Rescue Story:
Twinkle has already shown remarkable resilience in her young life. Found in a heap of moldy trash with her tiny siblings and their emaciated mother. Vets suspect that she may have suffered a spinal injury, which doesn't really slow her down. Despite this setback, Twinkle is able to walk, run and play, albeit with a wobbly gait sometimes that reflects her ongoing healing process.

If you can provide a loving environment and a little patience for this delicate soul, please reach out!

*Twinkle is currently fostered east of Sicamous on an acreage with no kids and 3 dogs.

Here is a video of Koda out with his parents cross country skiing! With love and guidance rescue dogs can adapt to many new experiences with ease! (even if roaming homeless in a pack and feral.) Koda came from a life of starvation to living an amazing active life!

ADOPTEE UPDATE: Davey was rescued/adopted over 10 years ago and used to run like the wind cycling with his owner, lovin' the outdoor activities. He was diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy making it hard for him to get around, till now....take a look at him! With his nifty wheels Davey is literally smiling from ear to ear with his newfound Freedom!😉🐾🐾🐾

TWINKS is overjoyed with the recent snow! She is about 6 months old, enjoying the huge snowfall near Revelstoke, and would be thrilled to find a fenced yard and home with another young dog like her.

This little baby kitten (Pixie who became Pixal) goes to his new home Jan 2nd. Our Story

Focusing on rescuing homeless dogs and cats from harsh environments and overcrowded shelters, rehabilitate them and match to adopter's and pets needs. We also try our best to educate about animal welfare. One of the best ways to educate is through the importance of spay and neuter.

We are moving forward, after 20 years of rescue in Alberta, to fundraise for an official rescue rehab adoption center. It’s badly needed since many dogs can often be rescued from homelessness with the help of the First Nations communities in Canada, and we need a place for these dogs to go when they first arrive.
