The one thing I dislike about this business is when a fur baby passes away. It always hits me in the heart. I can’t stress enough how important diet is for our kids. If there’s one book all parents should read it’s “Give Your Dog a Bone”. Applies to cats too.
After our pug Brooke passed away in my arms last winter from cancer, I decided to start feeding my other kids a raw diet. www.drianbillinghurst.com.

Thank you for everyone who donated supplies for the feral kitties. My client and I were overcome by the amount of items that were donated! There is an ongoing need for help so donations are accepted year round. You can drop off at my home 2924 Capen Dr. Bloomington.
Here is a list of the supplies:
• Dry cat chow- About 80lbs of dry food every 2 weeks
• Clumping kitty litter
• Self-warming cat beds
• Fleece blankets- polyester because cotton absorbs moisture and freezes
• Brooder light bulbs to heat garage enclosure
For outdoor shelters:
• 20 gallon styrofoam coolers with lids
• Emergency foil blankets OR aluminum roasting pans- put in enclosures to reflect cats own heat
Extras:
• Used cat trees
Other care items:
• De worming liquid medicine (otc)
• Advantage flea meds for adult cats
• Capstar for kittens
• Fish oil
• Brewers yeast (extra protein and helps repel fleas)
• Cat L-lysine supplement powder to add to water for respiratory health (lots of chronic infections out there)
• KMR (Kitten Replacement Milk) I get the powder to have on hand both for kittens and for adult sick/wounded cats to help them recover

Also, Sterile Feral cost for spay/neuter is $75 per male $90 per female.
If she takes a cat to the vet, there’s $$$, too.
If anyone wants to come help with TNR or help make/maintain shelters, let me know!

Happy Holidays from C & G Pet Sitting. I’m writing to you on behalf of one of my long-standing clients who so compassionately and genuinely cares for her neighborhood feral cats. My team has cared for her cats for many years now, and sees the care and love she takes with these babies. All of her supplies and spay/neuter costs are completely covered by her.
I am asking you as a pet lover yourself, to help her cause. She has provided me with a list of supplies needed as well as what you can personally do to help with the feral cat population.
Those who want Bloomington to get in step with the county on TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) and Community Cat Management are encouraged to contact their alder people. Alley Cat Allies website has good resources for how to communicate the issue with city government.
Here is a list of the supplies:

• Bales of straw - I get it from AB Hatchery. For bedding in garage and for outside shelters

• 30 gallon plastic tubs with lids(like Rubbermaid totes)
• 20 gallon styrofoam coolers with lids
• Emergency foil blankets OR aluminum roasting pans- put in enclosures to reflect cats own heat
