Everyone always asks me how and why I got into growing Microgreens. When I was a little girl my parents had a very big gardin. Our job was to w**d and water the garden. Our water hose was never long enough to reach our very big garden, so we had to make several trips to the end of the water hose with a five gallon bucket. Not one of our most favorite things to do as a kid, but we always had fresh food on our table. I took a small pride in knowing I helped grow our food. Having wholesome, fresh, and nutritious food should be available to everyone. I feel as if over the years we as a society have grown away from real fresh food and where it comes from. Starting a Urban farm allows me to bring fresh food with organic practices to our community while at the same time supporting the economy.

Owning my own business and farming has always been a dream of mine. There are so many businesses out there trying to profit from helping you start your own microgreens business and it's kind of ridiculous. Starting a Microgreens farm, or any business is a lot of work. It requires research, research, and more research. If you are passionate about growing something, (like I always have been) start with a small pack of seeds like I did and do your own research from there. There are a lot of support groups out there that can help you along the way. I am always happy to help with any questions too.

So how did I get started? You ask? My husband sent me a article about microgreens with how easy it is to grow and the health benefits of them. I was captivated so I did what every business owner should do, RESEARCH!!! And shortly after that I started growing. There has been a lot of trial and errors with new things, how to price, business meetings with restaurants, witch markets to go to ect..... I feel like I have figured only a small portion of running a microgreens business out, but I am on my way to improving and growing. My support group of customers and friends have been amazing, and I am excited to grow along with them.
