Hey, Fran here... just to keep everyone in the loop as to where we are with the centre I thought I'd quickly pop on and update you all.
We had looked at, and liked a lovely property and were really eager to progress and move forward with opening. However, with reflection and the little time we've had, the fit didn't quite feel right and of course we want the best for our clients.
We are viewing some more properties in the coming days/weeks and will of course keep you updated.
For now though, we will keep posting ideas and tips of how to mentally stimulate your four legged friends.

Mental enrichment is just as important as physical exercise in our dogs.
And the great thing is we can provide loads of mental stimulation options to improve the quality of our dog's lives ❤️
If you are just starting out, start easy, how about chews, lickimats, kongs, kibble in egg box's, snuffle mats.
If you are a seasoned pro, how about looking at your dogs breed traits or things they love to do.
🐽 Got a sniffy spaniel? How about some scent games.
🐑 Got a herding breed? How about rounding up some balls.
🐕 Got a retriever? How about adding in some impulse control to that retrieve.
Our indoor venue will have loads of enrichment ideas, so make sure to keep following us for more ideas! 💡

If you don't have cones, just use what you have, for example:
❤️ Tupperware
❤️ Loo roll
❤️ Cardboard boxes
❤️ Tea towels
But always make sure it is appropriate for your doggy!

Some signs your pup might need their grey matter stretched: chewing (in appropriate things), tail chasing , excessive barking, pacing, digging, running out of control when off lead.

I’m Penny (the P in Jolly Barks and Play).

I am a foreign rescue and came from overseas (Romania) ⛵
When I first came over to the UK I had lots of struggles which my mum has helped me with. ❤️
Yes, we used to hide in bushes when we would see dogs and people come by, as I found the world a little scary at first! Mum and her friends are keen to create a safe space for all doggies and their humans.
No hiding in bushes 🙈 😍
Mum and I, think an indoor dog park is an awesome idea and allows us to practise training and have fun, in a safe environment. Be this recall, obedience, scent work or reactivity.
I love to play games with my mum, especially when I get some tasty food ❤️
Did I mention I hate the rain, and wet paws 🐾 so an indoor dog park is amazing for those rainy / cold / snowy or even hot days!

Here I am with my mum doing my happy behaviour - 2 paws up.
My mum has had me since I was 9 weeks old but being a small girly I can be a little scared of big dogs.
I get affected by the weather easily due to being small and having black fur.
I love the idea of an indoor park as then I can have fun and use my 'doggy senses' all year round.

I’m Jarvis (the J in Jolly). This is me and my mum training outside. Yes she told me to jump up, it’s one of my safety moves when I get scared. 😁
We’re both passionate about the indoor dog park as I’m a rescue and can be quite anxious, the indoor space will help boost my confidence in a safe environment and also tire me out mentally. Once my mum discovered how much this type of mental games based training helped me she just wants more people to have access to safe places to train. 🐾

One of our favourites this time. Who knew recycling could be so good for dogs?! 😂 They search for the food in the box, you can add all sorts in here but make sure nothing they can be injured with. We often add noisy items as it helps the dogs form a positive association with weird noises. This game builds so much confidence which in turn helps reduce anxiety. Another great mental stimulation as they search for their food. Nice work here Brodie!
