A few rare photos of me and some of the dogs I’ve worked with 📸🦮
There are two ways in which you & your dog can work with Camp Canine:
✨ Behaviour visits - if you feel concerned regarding your dog’s behaviour and need some clarity and further understanding, then this is for you. The visits are around 2 hours long, I will be able to explain to you, in depth, what is causing the behaviour, and the best approach to take to reduce it.
The visits are interactive and fun for both dog and owner, they create a solid foundation and better bond between the two, and are filled with information and training techniques for you to use for your dog to thrive. Post-visit you will receive a small training plan to keep up to date with and are able to stay in contact with me for updates or any challenges you may face, follow up appointments can also be made when necessary.
🦮 1-1 training walks - if you struggle with the action of training your dog or can’t seem to find the time or energy to train, then that’s where I come in. Similar to regular dog walking, I come and collect your dog and take them for hourly sessions. However, on this walk, we LEARN 🤩
*Please note that these walks are not in replace of regular walks with owners, all dogs still need time to decompress and release their energy appropriately before any training session occurs*
During our first visit, we will discuss what areas of your dog’s behaviour need more work, and I will work with them firsthand on these issues or worries. We cater for everything ranging from puppy socialisation to reactivity or aggression.
A little bit about Camp Canine’s training methods:
The dog training world has grown massively recently, so doing your research when choosing a trainer is vital! If a trainer tells you that all you’ll need is a slip lead, run.
I use the LIMA approach, which means Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive. We use reward based methods and work with the dog to fix the underlying issue rather than plastering over it and suppressing the behaviour. Dogs have natural behaviours that should be allowed to be displayed where safe and acceptable. I work with both the owners and the dogs to create a bridge for our communication differences so you can better understand each other and live in harmony where everybody is happy. A dog isn’t a piece of furniture in the home, they have needs and should be given the right outlets for these needs. When providing them with that, you will see HUGE changes in their behaviour.
Many negative behaviours, or at least the behaviours we see as negative, stem from a bigger issue deep down. So here is something to think about: Dogs need mental help just as much as physical. Taking your dog to the vet is supporting their physical needs, and trainers / behaviourists (the right ones) are there for the mental 🧠❤️🩹
If you have stuck to the end of this post then maybe you’re needing some answers, some training advice, or someone to trust so you can get the help your dog needs. If this is the case then I hope to hear from you soon 😌
