This Sunday, January 21st! If your dog likes to swim and will do anything to get to their toy- then this might just be the best activity for you to enjoy together! Wagging Tails has offered dock diving for 6 years at our outdoor facility in Wolcott, and now we are jumping for joy at the opening of our indoor, heated pool and 40’ dock. The sport of dock diving has several different games - the main event is when a dog runs down a 40’ dock and leaps into a pool of 40’ or more. Their jump length is measured by where the base of their tail and butt meets the water. Dogs over 6 months. Any breed. Dogs with high prey or toy drives LOVE to do this. And better yet- kids ages 7 years and older can participate as Youth Handlers with their dogs in this sport! Come try it and learn in a family friendly non intimidating environment! Your dog must be a swimmer. If you’re not sure, then schedule a Swim Lesson with us first. Bring your dogs favorite floating toy (or purchase one in our lobby). Be prepared to get wet with splashes. You and your dog are welcome to wear your most festive sweaters to win prizes. Speaking of prizes, every competitor will receive free raffle tickets to enter to win a bunch of Howliday prizes. We have plenty of 🐾Howliday cheer planned with a complimentary hot cocoa bar, cookies, and lunches provided complimentary by the host on both days. We’re planning 🎄Christmas tree ornament crafts for your dog to make, a special frame craft for your photo with Santa, holiday music, 🍪 Christmas cookies for you and of course, treats for your dog. The saying goes that good help is hard to find. Carol was a diamond in the ruff, a rose in winter, a rainbow after a storm. She was a shining star on my team, a true Angel, an exemplary human being. We have always said that we wish we could clone Carol and have 10 of her as the perfect pet sitting team, because she really was the best. My condolences go out to her family and to our Wagging Tails clients. There were many that had Carol love, care for and adore their pets in their homes, for nearly 20 years. Carol was more than just an employee- she was family. Auntie Carol to all those animals she cared for and Auntie Carol to all the staff she mentored. Back in the early 2000s she joined me on this crazy roller coaster journey of a new business. She never disappointed us or any of the 1000s of animals she cared for working with my company. Carol inspired me to keep moving forward. If a woman in her 60s and 70’s could insist that she had to keep pet sitting to keep her going, then I had to I oblige- and there was no way that I could quit- right?! She kept going right up until last week when she left this world at 79. Strong, loving, determined, kind- Carol was the best. I miss her so much already but I know she’s having a blast with all those animals that crossed the rainbow bridge before her. She truly is in her idea of Heaven right now. ❤️

Carol Ann Elyett, affectionatley known as Auntie, aged 79, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at MidState Medical Center. Carol was born in Meriden on May 3, 1944, to her loving parents, the late Charles A. and Nettie Stupakevich Elyett. She embarked on a dedicated career....

Following the tragedy that occurred this past week, we would like to share the information below for you to donate to the Bristol Police Heroes Fund. We thank all First Responders for your service. Our hearts go out to the families of our fallen heroes, and our community.

We loved all of the silly photos we received during the storm. It was heartwarming to see all of your crazy pups enjoying the weather. Bone shaped ornaments from today’s Crafty K9 Day are drying! We will let you know when they are dry and ready for pickup. Didn’t get one? No problem! We’ll be making them all week, or until supplies run out. There are 2 ways to get bone shaped ornaments for your dogs or as gifts!
1) sign your dog up for a full day of daycare this week, and add on the Crafty K9 Day which is $8.
Or
2) call, visit your client portal, or email and order yours. Make sure we have the correct spelling of the dog’s name. Ornament is $10 without daycare.

Please consider donating new or gently used pet supplies to Wagging Tails’ “Presents for Pets” collection. 635 New Park Ave West Hartford and 802 Boundline Rd Wolcott. Recipients are West Hartford Animal Control and Animal Friends of Ct. They have a lot of cats available for adoption and have requested cat supplies. Toys, treats, food, litter. However ANY donation is appreciated. Bring your contribution to the collection bin in our lobbies. On Sat, Dec 18th, we will be having pet photos with Santa AND the Grinch. A portion of the proceeds will benefit these shelter animals. If you plan to come, we ask that you please bring a present for a shelter pet with you then.
