I make bow ties and bandannas for cats, dogs, and any other critter that can wear them. I hand cut, sew, paint, and embellish each one from patterns I created. I add embellishments such as buttons, appliques, rhinestones, and always my signature touch, a Tibetan silver charm. Each piece takes time to make. I paint using stencils that I design in Photoshop and cut on a Silhouette Cameo. I cut each
piece by hand and sew everything together on my new Brother sewing machine. I love that machine! I use most fabrics by way of upcycling. I hit the thrift stores and find awesome fabrics with cute prints and solid colors from curtains, blankets, sheets, shirts, and whatever else I can find. This means that once the fabric is gone, it's gone. Each piece also has a strap you can tie and velcro, as well as a short piece of elastic on one end of the strap. This means never having to knot the strap, and if your pet gets caught on something, it will stretch and break away. While I hope to make my Etsy shop successful enough so that I can make a living by creating fun stuff for pets, I also want to be successful so that I can donate heavily to a worthy cause, the KC Pet Project. Their mission has been to save pets from certain death, by providing much-needed medical care and sponsoring numerous pet adoption events all around the KC metro area. The Kansas City Animal Shelter has almost reached no-kill status due to their tireless efforts, and soon it truly will be a no-kill shelter where animals won't be doomed to an almost certain death sentence.
