If your furbaby isn't eating, you may need to "jump start" them because their stomach may not feel well. The best way to do this is wrap them in a soft towel or blanket like a burrito and with a syringe, (Gerber's baby food Stage 1 is great to use) and gently push the syringe into the side of the cat's mouth and squeeze a little bit at a time. If they don't swallow you can try rubbing their neck or blow gently in their face. After a bit of that - try just holding the syringe in front of their mouth and hopefully they will start licking the syringe. Just a little bit at first. Then you can gradually move them into a bowl.

Well this little boy has been named Spice. Everything went well and he's joining the rest of his family.
Ittrapping time again (always). We're working with a colony of 7 cats and one just had 6 kittens. As appointments for the Feral Fix-it program are hard to come by we're dry-trapping so they will be comfortable going in the traps. Our first contestant was trapped.
We're on our way to AWA. This is an elderly woman who has lovingly been feeding these babies and due to her husband's health issues was not able to start the TNR process until now. Also one of the cats just had 6 kittens and if possible, we'd love to have her and her babies in foster care so we can find them homes and then spay mom and return her to the rest of her family
Our first "participant in this colony.
Getting ready to set traps for this colony of 7 (now with 6 newly born kittens)
This was Tank playing with his "brother" Oliver just days before he had his seizures. He will be truly missed
This is princess - a 1-year-old pit/german shepherd mix.
Well here we go again. This little girl came in - about a week old and apparently abandoned. She came in around 11:30 pm and so far she's been fed every hour ( it's 5am) and had 2 flea baths. An angel has ordered the incubator but until it arrives, she has a hot water bottle, a vaporizer going and lots of soft blankets.
Here is newbie #2. Please, if you feed cats outside - please help them by TNR. It's so important to help manage the feral colonies and it's the responsible thing to do. We can help you find low cost spay neuter places and even lend you traps (if available since we are doing a lot of TNR now) and right now, most of our traps are out. But please don't let that stop you. AWA has a wonder Feral-Fix-It program and they will even lend you a trap. In the meantime - both babies thankfully would surely have died (the other 2 in the original litter died) as they were abandoned (probably a very young mother). Please help for their care. 100% of donations goes to the animals and is totally tax deductible.
This is the newborn that came in last night crashing. It took about 40 minutes to get her stabilized and finally she was able to latch onto the syringe. Her sister will be posted next. As of this posting, both are eating about every 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Sleep is very over-rated. Luckily - our very good friend Alex who has handled neonatals before and has an incubator is taking them. Please understand that it takes not only time but money to make sure these babies get everything they need. No matter what size donation - it is very much appreciated. Also - IT'S NATIONAL PET DAY!!!
