This is my final horse before I retire from riding, this is the last leg of my eventing journey.

Joey appreciation post....
Recap....been with us for 1 week and 1 day, now been to 2 arena hires....are we pleased....yes we are!
✅️Loading
✅️Travelling
✅️Tying up on the side of the lorry
✅️Schooling in a jump arena with a mix of showjumps and xc fences (and not spooking at a thing)
✅️Schooling with a mare in the arena...no nappiness at all!
✅️Popped over some poles without even looking at them (he flat raced so hasn't jumped yet)
✅️Loading to go home

He has only just turned 4, not even been here a month, I'm speechless.

Thank you to Alison & Madison for bringing the princess today so we could see how he is with others in the arena, it really helps to have an eye on the ground as well.

Let's hope this continues!

Not much to report today apart from we went hacking past road closed signs and workmen and not a spook!
Off to an arena tomorrow and one on Saturday so busy times for joey!

Joey had his brave pants on today....he got to have a go with the massage pad which he loooooved!
Then we did some desensitisation with a plastic bag....well he didn't give too hoots about the bag and ended up being groomed with it all over his body and then he was allowed to throw it....just turned 4 yrs old and seriously not phased.

And then.....off out hacking up the road on his own! What a star you are Joey, you left marley with no issues and went to explore, over the moon with him so far ❤️

So much to look forward too with the bay brigade!

Welcome to all new followers - come and join me on my final journey of my last horse and my last chance to get to my long term goal of getting to Badminton Grassroots ( however we intend to qualify for the BE80 Champs first!) This page is to document my journey and also I hope it helps anyone else with an ex racer to reach their dreams.

Tomorrow is the day we pick up newbie - im very nervous as its meant to be super windy so not a great day to collect a new horse, but hey ho - in at the deep end!

Introductions will be made once he is home and I am less stressed at the prospect of having 2 horses!
