Happy Wednesday, Loves!

Our Super Emmy has been working on an Amazon Christmas wish list for the animals that reside here. These animals and caring for them is som**hing she takes great pride in and she’s so grateful for help.

Some of the most used items are potty pads for the senior dogs and 2 special needs cats, paper towels (same reason 🤣), odoban, and we really need to stock up on seresto collars.
She added a saddle stand on there for Bea. She was given a nice saddle as Bea still likes to be ridden, but it currently resides over the arm of the sofa.

We will be very thankful for anything received.

Emmy also asked me to collect addresses so she can send Christmas cards out to the Loves this year so please message them to us. If you’d like to send one to her, please send it to-

Doug has been with us well over a year now and finally gave me a kiss today. He’s a very skittish, weird little dog. He doesn’t handle change well at all and only tolerates some dogs, others he wants to destroy and there is no rhyme or reason. He came out of a m**h house and he’s a bit off but we love him.

The vet will be coming Saturday to euthanize Cookie. It’s going to be a very rough few days. Emmy is not handling this well at all, and I wouldn’t expect her to. They’ve been best friends for 8 years now. There is nothing like the love shared between a girl and a horse.

THANK YOU! We’ve received what we need for Cookie. Any extra received will go toward the purchase of hay for Bea, Ralph, and Rosie for winter. With the drought, we’ve already had to start feeding hay.

If you followed us way back when we left Georgia and moved to Arkansas, I’m sure you remember when Rocky Ridge Refuge sent Cookie, the lame mini horse, to live out her life being loved by Super Emmy. Well, she’s been very well loved and extremely well taken care of but her time has come. Her lame leg/hoof has deteriorated to the point that euthanasia is required. This was not an easy decision but it is definitely necessary.

As many of you know, finances are very hard in this day and time. Donations are at an all time low. We hardly ever take in new animals because we struggle to support the ones we already have. I don’t have the extra that it is going to take to rent the equipment to bury her and have the vet out to euthanize. I’m currently trying to sell some of my mother’s collectibles to cover it. If anyone would be willing to make a donation, no matter the amount, we’d be grateful. We need to raise $500. Right now I’m just sitting here falling apart because times are already hard enough and this just compounds it all and I’m feeling quite overwhelmed. Thank you for always being here for us. I don’t know what I’d do without you.

Frankie is gone and my heart is crushed.

The vet thinks maybe intussusception but we don’t know. She was playing at 11, threw up and had a seizure at 130, is now gone. I’ve never seen anything like this.

She brought a bright sparkle to our lives for 3 short days. She ran and played and barked and was so silly. She had a ball and I’m glad we were able to love her.

Life can be so cruel.

Frankie is a very sick puppy. Charlie has gone to pick up medication from the vet for her. I’ll keep you updated but I’m worried sick.

Frankie woke up this morning and ate a few bites of her kibble and drank a bit of broth. She’s let me know quite vocally that she despises a/d . She wants to play with the other dogs but I don’t want her to expend too much energy and most of them are terrified of her anyway.

Thanks to all of you, we raised $133 of her $144 vet bill yesterday! Our Loves are the absolute best!! Thank you so very much.

Thankfully it’s just a nasty case of coccidia. We are heading home with medications and fluids and loads of directions. Met a new vet this morning andi really liked him. Her bill was $144 if anyone can help it I’d appreciate it so much!

Frankie and I are at the vet. She’s sick this morning and would not eat. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 let’s hope it’s just coccidia. I’m gonna need help with this bill y’all. I’ll hopefully know som**hing soon, they’ve taken p**p samples.

EDIT: thank heavens it’s just coccidia! Her bill was $144 and could’ve been soooo much worse. I loved my new vet too. He’s not Robin who I miss dearly, but he was really nice

Frankie has had a bit of an upset tummy today but I’m sure it’s stress and change of food. Charlie made her some chicken and rice and she’s eating it voraciously. We weighed her and she’s 3 lbs even.

She absolutely DOES NOT like to be alone and I no longer have an indoor playpen. I might just be carrying her around everywhere with me now 😒

A thing was done.
Her name is Frankie.

This sweet girl is about 5-6 weeks old and has snow white gums from a severe parasite infestation. She’s been dewormed and will see the vet Wednesday.
Charlie said she’s Dawn 2.0 😂

We are going to need funds for potty pads, puppy food, goats milk, vetting. I don’t do puppies and don’t have supplies 🫣
