🐶 Puppy Socialization: More Than Just Playdates! 🐶

🐾 Socializing your puppy isn’t just about letting them run around with other dogs. It’s about helping them explore the world around them! For example, when Capri looks out our front door, she’s getting a taste of the sights and sounds that surround us.

🐾 If she starts barking at something outside, I ]say "quiet." When she stops, I mark her behavior with a “yes!” and a tasty treat. If she doesn’t listen right away, I wait for her to stop, mark it, and reward her then.

🐾 Remember, rewarding your pup for good behavior is key! Avoid using treats as a way to silence them; that can lead to confusion. Instead, focus on positive reinforcement to guide them in the right direction.

The first of the month means it's time for Capri's Flea & Tic meds along with heartworm. How do you give your dog meds? This is my trick!
🐾Add tasty treats at the bottom of the Kong
🐾Then mix the crushed meds with peanut butter (make sure it’s Xylitol-free).
