Good morning CCAA supporters! We are planning another Touch A Truck event on Saturday, March 15th, and we need volunteers to help us that day! The event will be from 10-2PM, but we will need volunteers at 8AM to help with setup. If you would like to help us out, please message Angela Polk or Regenia Michelle Brabham and I will get your name on the list. We had a great turn out last year, and are hoping for a bigger event this year! I am also looking for someone to do face painting for the kids and maybe a bouncy house. If you know someone who might help, shoot me a message and I'll get in touch with them. Thank you for helping our pups!

Our sweet Shorty went to Tractor Supply to help pick up all the dog food that was donated. He made a few friends and we collected a total of 1180 pounds of dry dog food and 24 cans of wet. We can not thank you all enough!!!!!!

Ya'll are amazing!!!! I can not thank you enough!!! Yesterday, you donated 900 pounds of dog food and there is more coming today!!! Thank you!!!

We ran completely out of dog food so Shorty grabbed our Christmas gift card and went to Tractor Supply to get us two bags. He was very popular with the staff. Shorty is still looking for that great forever home. Please pm us your email address for an adoption application.

The pantry is down to one bag of dog food. If you can kindly order some 4 Health Salmon and potato dry food from Tractor Supply in Byron, we will gladly pick it up. Thank you!!!

We have an opening for a Wednesday evening kennel worker in Byron! Our current volunteers have just been notified they are being moved by the Air Force (insert sad face). This position is every Wednesday, from 4:30PM, usually 30-45 minutes, cleaning outdoor kennels and refilling waters. People, including students, looking for community service hours are welcome! Message me for any questions!

Next week is not looking very pleasant weather wise so since our dogs are not out in bad weather, there will most likely not be any out and abouts after this Saturday until it warms back up. The good thing is that we are in Georgia and get a lot of pretty days in the winter months.

I've said just about everything I can think of about Augustus. He is a leaner. Driving, standing, sitting, he makes contact. I think he would make a great greeter at Walmart, he loves people! He really can work a cute face to get what he wants. He is ready for his fur ever home. Please get the word out.

We are on a mission to find the most loving forever home for our Shorty. Shorty has been with CCAA for a little over a year now. He has come a very long way since Byron PD rescued him during a cruelty case in Byron. (The first picture) He was moved to the Byron Pound where the officer in charge named him Shorty. He has never named any of the many dogs that came though there so that shows just how special Shorty is. (The second picture) Now our Shorty fills our days with love and laughter. His eyes sparkle. He is so happy not to have to worried about not being fed, being chained, being left out in the cold and rain ever again. (The third picture)
Still, rescue is not the best place for a dog. All dogs deserve and loving home and our mission is to find him that loving home. Please private message us for an adoption application. I have included his adopt a pet bio.

Good morning and Happy New Year to all of you!!!
Whew what a year 2024 was!!!!! As rescues closed across the country, we got very scared but we dug in and fought harder and all of you stepped up for our rescue dogs and our mission.

In review: We started out the year with 41 dogs. We end it with 38 and two pending adoptions. We brought in 22 dogs throughout the year. Three were returns through no fault of the dogs. All three were quickly adopted to great families. Sadly, we lost our sweet Boss to cancer and our Lefty because we just could not get him past the abuse he has horribly endured. Sometimes, not matter how hard we try, love just is not enough. Of the 22 dogs we brought in, 19 of those were from Byron/Peach County. We adopted 23 to great families.

Quality of life is of the greatest importance here at CCAA. We were happy to put in three additional kennels out back and to enclose the very back of the property to make a big play yard for the dogs. Many new volunteers have signed up to help clean kennels, exercise dogs and for our out and about program. We are very grateful to the volunteers that go above and beyond out of love for the CCAA rescue dogs. To increase the quality of life for the dogs at CCAA and in foster homes, our goal this year is to place as many dogs as possible into loving forever homes. Each and everyone of them deserve that.

We hope to extend our out and about program to include more dogs and volunteers. We are working hard here at CCAA to get more dogs ready for the program by leash training, getting them comfortable in automobiles, and socializing them.

We are very grateful to our fundraising coordinator Angela Polk. Without her hard work and dedication, we would not have been able to raise the money needed to run a rescue.

We are especially grateful to all of you that follow, share, donate, adopt, and all the other wonderful things you do. These precious lives could not be saved without you!!!!!!!! It takes an army. Ours is small but growing and very mighty.

I also want to say a HUGE thank you to Dr Knox Hilliard and his staff at Houston Veterinary Clinic. They are just as dedicated to our dogs as we are. Their commitment to excellence for all dogs and cats is amazing. They have NEVER treated one of our dogs like it was just a rescue dog. We certainly could not do this without them.

I also want to send a shoutout to Byron Police Department. Their dedication to stop cruelty in the city limits of Byron has really shown this year. Their willingness to work with us as we desperately try to make room for the dogs brought into their kennels is amazing. The care and compassion they have shown for the lost and abused dogs in Byron is just one of the characteristics that make Byron PD the great law enforcement group it is.

Again, thank you all and lets make 2025 a great year.

Pictured here is our Shorty. He is even smaller than he looks in his pictures and to meet him is to love him right away. He is funny, out going and oh so cute!!!!!! Shorty has been waiting on a forever home for a year.
