Stepping away from conventional veterinary practice after ten years was an easy decision.

Why?

Nature was not at the core of practice.
There is no emphasis on effective herbal medicine for our companion animals. It is just not there.

Focusing on natural treatment plans such as incorporating herbal medicine, fresh diet, and reducing the interventions which animals don't always need, has made the most significant and positive change to bringing my patients back to health. Allowing nature heal nature.
Preventative medicine is the key to less vet visits, less repetitive illnesses and imbalances for our companion animals. Stripping it all back, animals are so receptive to these remedies and I am so grateful to make them more accessible and effective for those who need them.

A pause to pronounce my thanks -

A vivid dream, New Year's eve '23, starlings taking flight forming energy-heavy murmurations, blitzing the winter's sky. A deliverance of encouragement, intuition and change, offering wisdom and guidance. Transformational energy, intentions paving my path.

From then until now, 2024 has been magic, hard work too, but its movement has brought me to exactly where I set out to be. Welcoming 2025 with open arms and excitement.

Thanks to everyone who encouraged me, supported me and recognised my intent throughout this year. Two years of persistence and determination to create the Natural Vet Company brought me to this pause. Thank you all so much for being such an important part of this journey, it has meant the world.

In clinical practice, I noticed a large increase in the proportion of pets presenting with skin problems, be it an itchy ear or red paws, it has became an increasingly prevalent condition of dogs within the last ten years.

At one practice I worked in, I would estimate 8/10 consults a day would often be skin related. This shocked me and was part of the reason I began exploring alternative medicine rather than repetitively prescribing life long medications.

I have treated many dogs now through herbal and alternative routes, and I find these to be the most important components, alongside a fresh diet, to maintain a healthy skin & coat.

What will I write about now?

I have received many messages from those of you who have read my book, which means a lot.

I didn't set out to make most people cry, but those are meaningful tears too. They translate to me that I brought you into that moment with me. This was what I set out to do. Deciding to write these stories, my intent was purely to reflect the most meaningful moments from my years spent practicing veterinary over the past decade. Animals bring such joy and emotion into our lives and their lives often frame chapters of our own. Between the covers of this book, the pages have been filled with those emotional tales of tails and their imprint left on us as owners, companions and as vets.

Thank you so much for all of your messages and to Caroline who read my book concluding that it was a 'must read for anyone planning a Veterinary career'.
