Hi Everyone,
We just wanted to share something that we see alot during this major holiday season
The number of animal surrenders we receive between Oct and Jan is INSANE. Just this past week, the main requests have been: 'I need to surrender or get rid of rats.
I know I speak for most small rescues when I say that
these requests often outnumber our man-power, time and resources.
Even then, please do not consider releasing rats as a better option. Take the time to reach out to multiple rescues/avenues... because these little guys do not do well being tossed out.
Tomorrow we will be picking up this little bug. He had the good fortune of a neighbor noticing someone with a tank dump something outside. This is how she found him, just frozen on the ground.
Most likely, he Was a 'refused meal.' The amount of times We have had to pick up rats in similar situations is astounding!
So please, if you ever find yourself in a bad spot... plan
ahead, reach out to as many organizations as you can.. Explain your situation honestly and in detail. Some rescues can even help foster until you get back on your feet again
For those of you who would like to support our organization and help make it possible for us to continue to do what we do, you can make a donation here:
