Summer is just around the corner and so is the largest cicada emergence in over 200 years.

This is Loki. He is such an affectione husky and will usually jump up to say hello. Food and carrots are his second most favorite thing in life, other than his humans. Loki is good at wrestling with his husky siblings and climbing up into your personal space to give kisses. Loki wants all the love and food he can get and we are here for it.

This is Lyza. She is one of our own. Lyza was adopted by Shane Wilson in 2016 while he was serving in the Navy. When she was just 6 weeks old, he drove from Norfolk to pick her up in North Carolina. He remembered on the first weekend of having her, when he got reported to the military housing for having a puppy when he wasn’t suppose to. That did not matter to Lyza or Shane.

He has since seperated from the Navy and moved back to his hometown of Independence, but Lyza and him have been together since ❤️

We wanted to thank our very own Shane (& Lyza) and ALL Veterans for their service and honor the sacrifices they make. Shane remembers the times of spending days, if not weeks deployed. Having great pet care was always essential. Wendy K's is here to support.

BOO Radley got himself a great walk today, so did we! He got his dinner and then we took advantage of this beautiful, 75° weather. We hope everyone got a chance to walk today with your furry loved ones and took in the wonderful atmosphere of fall here in Independence

Had a puppy party on the Independence Square yesterday. Seeing all the dogs and their peoples yesterday brought joy to our hearts. We have never seen so many happy pups on the square at one time! Thank you to everyone who showed up, and a special thanks to all the vendors for supporting the Independence community.

It really doesn’t matter if your dog is friendly or not.

What matters is that you don’t take the choice away from another owner (and their dog) as to who they interact with.

There can be so many reasons why a dog and their owner need space from you and your dog.

Please allow them that choice 💙
