"Billy"

Billy is one of our boys from our May 2024 litter, out of our Solaris rockstar Roxanne (GCH CH Solaris Your Mama Don't Dance at Vizcaya) and our home-bred boy Paddy (Group Winning/Owner Handled Best in Show/Multiple Best of Opposite S*x in Specialty/2018 Vizsla Club of America Reserve Winner's Dog GCHB CH Fantasy's Little Golden Horseshoe CGC). We held Billy back in order to watch him grow just a bit more, and do a more in-depth assessment of his potential.

Billy is a super sweet, super snuggly, eager to please, intelligent and active little boy. His favorite activities include running with his favorite human (my nine year old daughter), chasing after bugs and butterflies, and pouncing on every unsuspecting grass seed pod he can tackle. He is a little softer in his temperament - meaning that he may want to go, go, go, but if you correct him too hard, he will melt into the ground. Extremely biddable and handler-focused, Billy is already quickly picking up commands, and will thrive in a home that can match his energy level and inventiveness.

Billy does have some bird-sense, and we would love to see him in a home that is interested in doing some casual bird work with him. A desire to actively and regularly hunt is not required, but bird work would be an excellent outlet for his energy and his creativity. He has excelled in his introductions to frozen bobwhite quail, and his points have style and flair. He willingly retrieves with no regard for feathers, although his retrieve to hand needs some work - it tends to become a game of keep away with this fantastic new toy he has. If not bird work, his home must be committed to keeping him active and engaged through some structured activity - Billy is not going to be the kind of dog that is going to be happy always doing the Netflix and chill. Sometimes, yes, but not all of the time.

Billy is nicely put together, and would likely do moderately well in the show ring. He may be too challenging for a new Junior Handler, but would likely do well with a more experienced Junior who also enjoys other sports and activities. Billy has been introduced to water that comes up to his chest (where he can still touch), and he is in and out like a duckling. This boy will try anything if it makes his people happy!

Billy is fastidious in his crate, though he does have a bit of age-appropriate happy tinkling if he is picked up or petted while coming out of or immediately after coming out of his crate. An avid car rider, this boy genuinely enjoys going on adventures to new places and seeing new things! Billy is dog neutral in that he is perfectly content whether on his own or with other dogs - as long as he has his people! He does not tend to be particular barky or loud-mouthed - if he is fussing in his crate, it is because a need is unmet (he's hungry or he needs to go potty). He has done very well with being introduced to leash walking, and handles stairs like a master.

Billy has had his second vaccine, and he is ready to spread his wings and fly to his new family! He will come home with everything he needs to transition, registered and chipped, on a comprehensive contract.

The litter theme for this litter is The Heart of Rock'n'Roll - "Billy" is inspired by Billy Joel's song "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me." His registered name must come from the lyrics of that song - we suggest "Fantasy's Talkin' Bout the New Sound", but his home will have some flexibility with his final registered name. These puppies were born in the early morning of May 9th, 2024.

Well, it's not *exactly* stack pictures, but it is pictures!

We've been taking "nature walks" in the evening out in the fields, and the babies are having an absolute blast. We always have at least one of their parents with us, and they are loving getting to hang out and explore with Roxanne and Paddy. Of course, Grace usually joins us, too, and everyone runs until they're tuckered! I'm fairly certain I got head shots of just about everyone except Joan.

Forgive my camera, some day I'll get one that can handle movement in variable light. 😅

Earlier this week, I was diagnosed with severe PTSD as a result of my wreck.

Now, I don't want anybody to think that this post is fishing for sympathy, or that I'm trying to excuse anything. I'm not.

What this is, however, is an attempt at an explanation.

I know I suck at being social, y'all. Trust me, I am painfully aware. Unfortunately, a choice someone else made has affected me in ways I still haven't even begun to wrap my head around, and right now every ounce of mental energy I can bully out of myself is devoted to these kids, the grown dogs, and my human kiddo. Not necessarily in that order, but at least Grace can feed herself and she's potty trained.

Now that we have an answer to what on earth is happening, we're developing a plan to move forward so that I can also start taking care of you guys.

In the meantime, I appreciate everyone's patience as I try to figure out how to survive as a whole and entire person again. Six week glamour shots are coming, but here's the babies' first time on grass to get you through.

We are fully weaned now, eating big kid food and pooping like little champions. Personalities are out in full force, and it has been such a blessing watching these precious little souls grow by leaps and bounds the last few weeks. ❤️

When it rains, it pours.

At first, it was settling on the perfect names to match the unique personalities of these kids.

Then, when the first photo session didn't net me any useable photos, we doubled the light sources and tried again.

I've been on the web and YouTube for the last two hours while processing the second set of pictures this morning trying to figure out how on earth the settings on my camera have gotten so wonky. Needless to say, yet another photo shoot was shoe-horned in to my schedule for this afternoon. Hopefully with MORE light sources some more natural light, and a hard reset on my camera, we'll get more useable shots. 🫠

In the mean time, I'm already two and a half weeks late, so we're going to work with what we have for right now. Each puppy is also getting their very own Google album, which I will link below.

At long last, I am so proud to introduce our Heart of Rock and Roll litter!

Fantasy Vizslas is so pleased to congratulate Solaris Vizslas on the arrival of their three darling new potatoes!

Two boys and a girl were born to Alma, CH Solaris Bless Your Heart, on Saturday morning between about 2 and 5am. Smallest baby was about 12oz and the largest was nearly a pound! Alma was a trooper, and took to motherhood quickly and naturally.

We were honored to be asked to assist with the whelp, and Tanner (CH Fantasy's Rebel With a Cause) is a very proud first time papa!

I know I'm keeping y'all in suspense, and that is not my intention - those of you who also follow my personal page know that I was in a car wreck on Tuesday, and so the past few days have been a lot of healing and napping and not a lot of solid brain activity.

Tanner (CH Fantasy's Rebel With A Cause) also has some pretty exciting news, and that will probably be taking up the rest of my day today, so I'm going to put everybody off ONE more day to sometime tomorrow afternoon for the portrait shots and official baby names and two-week update.

Thanks for your patience with me. These guys are all healthy and thriving and that has been a huge source of comfort for me. ❤️‍🩹

We are so pleased to announce a litter we have been anticipating for quite some time - about four years, as a matter of fact!

In true Roxanne style, after keeping us in suspense for almost exactly a week, in the wee hours of Thursday morning (on the heels of a string of nasty storms), this little mama started dancin' and ushered in four darling, robust boys and two big, rowdy girls.

Roxanne has exceeded all expectations in the whelping box - a fabulous, attentive, perfectly natural dam. I could not be more pleased.

Paddy is a very proud papa from afar, but he has decided to be quite gentlemanly and respect Roxanne's space (and her teeth 🤣).

We'll reveal their individual names on Thursday for their second week birthday, but for now, enjoy puppy cuteness!

"Gonzo" (Fantasy's The Greatest Blue Whatever) is a nine month old intact male from our June 2023 litter. This litter is the first third generation litter to bear the Fantasy kennel name, and so I've been growing these boys out to watch how they mature, and I am absolutely in love with all of them - but Gonzo is my male pick of this litter. Because of this, and because of his easy temperament, Gonzo will have a home with me for as long as it takes to find him the perfect match. However, since nearly all of my intact girls are *very* closely related to him, I would rather find him a home close to Nashville that can offer him individualized love and attention when he's not showing off in the rings. Gonzo is ONLY available on a CO-OWN SHOW CONTRACT, and only to homes within TWO HOURS OF NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE.

This gorgeous, easy-moving boy turns heads everywhere he goes! Gonzo is an affectionate, active, exuberant boy who absolutely adores attention, and he is genuinely convinced that the world was made to pay homage to his perfect self. Athletic and well driven, this boy adores any activity which lets him show off his leaps, but he has a well developed off-switch which comes out in his demands for snuggles. Intelligent and eager to learn, he is quick to master commands, and he is sweet and affectionate with children. Gonzo would be an excellent Junior's dog for a slightly older, experienced Junior home - he may be just challenging enough to frustrate a young or very green Junior. As his brothers are, Gonzo is excellent with other dogs, and is very well-mannered even in large groups, tending to be fairly neutral and easy-going, and quick to find someone else to play with when spats break out. He gets *very* excited about kitties, and he tends to be mostly respectful, but homes with cats should plan to introduce them very carefully, as Gonzo can be rather exuberant.

Gonzo is fully crate trained, has basic house manners, and is well behaved on a leash. He has a few basic obedience commands, but all of my families are encouraged and compensated for taking training with their new companions. He has been started on ring craft training, and is doing quite well. Gonzo is ONLY available on a co-owned show contract. He will come home with a registered chip and fully vetted, including current on rabies, and with a bill of clean health from my vet. All of my puppies come home with a well-stocked "starter kit", and are supported for life by my genetic health guarantee, outlined in my contract, as well as a right of first refusal clause - meaning you never have to worry about your dog's future if you find you cannot keep them for any reason. They always have a home with me. Homes local to the Nashville area can also take advantage of up to 30 days per calendar year of free boarding with me in my home - I adore getting to see my kids grow up, and they love coming here to play.

One miracle deserves another.

If anyone in our area is missing a senior Vizsla this evening, he is at Williamson County Animal Center.

I am going to call in the morning and see if I can spring him - or at least get him released to me when his stray hold is up, if he hasn't been reunited with his family before then.

🍪 Churro won his 6-9 month puppy class, and had a grand time bouncing around the Winners Dog ring with his mama.

🍺 Guinness was Winner Winner Chicken Dinner, winning his AmBred class, Winner's Dog, and having a ball with Grace running around in Breed to take Best of Winners for a three point major!

🎠 Cara did her very baby best, winning her 6-9 puppy class and taking Reserve Winners Bitch.

❤️ Luca was Winner Winner Chicken Dinner, winning her Bred By Exhibitor class and taking Winners Bitch for another point.

🍀 Paddy was the big winner for the day, showing out with his new best friend Cory to win the Breed, and then walking into the regular group with his favorite Mama to take a competitive cut in a lovely line up!

🦄 Grace got to borrow a Border Collie from some amazing club members, and had an absolute blast learning to groom a hairy dog, before showing masterfully in PeeWee.

It was a fun but hectic weekend. We missed everyone in Columbia, SC - but it was lovely to have a lead up to Knoxville here close to home. We got a lot of lovely compliments on the young dogs especially! I really enjoyed stepping into some new roles in the show world, and I'm looking forward to our show next year!

Ferris is a six month old male from our Vito/Rua litter, born 3/20/2023, who is looking for an amazing home where he will be a beloved pet.

I held Ferris back to watch him grow up and mature some - and, while he is a lovely boy, his temperament is a bit too soft to excel in the Conformation ring or in performance venues. This sweet, snuggly boy is a chill homebody - he loves hanging out with his people and being silly.

Ferris does extremely well with children and other dogs, and because of this I would prefer that he be in a home with a full family that includes kids still at home or frequent visits from related kids. Ferris has a very submissive temperament with other dogs - although, he is still a Vizsla puppy and can sometimes be naughty, so other dogs in the home should be self-confident and tolerant. This boy is a bit more vocal than other Vizslas, so prospective families should be patient and have a good sense of humor!

Ferris is fully crate trained, and has done well with potty training at my house, so he should be a quick study when he comes home. We have worked some basic manners obedience, and he is doing quite well with loose leash walking. Ferris doesn't love car rides - he has improved some with time, but it still isn't his favorite thing to do. He will do best in a home with previous dog experience, that can be calm, firm with rules and boundaries, entirely fair in enforcement, and gentle when needed.

This boy is completely up to date on shots and will come home with a Rabies vaccine and once-over from my vet. He's been kept current on flea and tick as well as heartworm medication. Because he is available only as a companion, Ferris will come home on a Limited Registration. My contract stipulates that none of my dogs can be neutered until they are around two years old for their physical health and mental well-being, so please be advised in advance!

Well, it's the weekend of the Vizsla Club National, and we had to stay home (the Carnies are six weeks today!), but I couldn't stay away from a dog show, so we stayed local instead, and boy am I pleased that we did!

Guinness🍺 is still figuring out being a show dog, and had a good training day, taking Reserve Winner's Dog.

LUCA🌹 was Winner Winner Chicken Dinner for the day, winning her class, taking Winner's Bitch for another point, and then walking into the Breed ring with Terisa Cade Wagner to take Best of Winners and *then* beat her half brother for Best of Breed Bred By Exhibitor!

Rendi👑 had fun piloting her kid around the ring, and won her class and took Best of Opposite S*x, completely handled by Grace🦄!

Tanner💀 is putting in the serious time to learning how to be a big boy Specials dog, and showed well, despite his sister being in season at the house and most of his blood staying well south of his brain. 🫠

Paddy🧲 came to the show just to show with Grace🦄 in PeeWee Handling, and had an absolutely stellar time being back in the ring.

Guinness🍺 showed better, and did his best to charm the judge, walking away with Reserve Winner's Dog and lots of compliments.

Luca🌹 was again Winner Winner Chicken Dinner for the day, taking Winner's Bitch for yet another point, and then beating her grandmother Rendi for Best of Opposite S*x, and her half brother for Best Bred By!

Rendi👑 won her class and took Select Bitch with Grace🦄 at the helm.

Tanner💀 showed much better today, and took Select Dog for more points towards his Grand, as well as Best of Breed Owner Handler to go play in the Groups for the first time! No love there, but he showed quite well!

Rendi👑 and Grace🦄 also got to play in PeeWee again on Sunday, and they both had a blast of a time, although Rendi was definitely very much over dog shows at that point. 🤣

Thank you to everyone in and out of the set up who helped hold dogs ringside and take dogs back in - I cannot do this without my village, and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your patience and time. For those of you who also helped to wrangle Grace this weekend - thank you and I owe you alcohol. 🤣🤣🤣

I also want to really appreciate everyone who went out of their way to compliment me on how much smoother my weekend went then normal - I really do appreciate the recognition, and the external confirmation that the changes I've made are genuinely making a difference! Better living through chemistry.

It's time to announce our newest litter - the Carnies turned 5 weeks yesterday!

These gorgeous little hams are out of the beautiful Vito (GCH CH Russet Leather Strmwnd La Dolce Vita JH) and Rua (CH Fantasy's 99 Luftballoons). **All of the puppies have placement at this time.**

The theme for this litter is "Carnival", and the puppies are named as follows:
GIRLS
Pink - Balloon 🎈
Red - Midway 🎪
Purple - Carousel 🎠

BOYS
Blue - Ferris 🎡
Green - Corndog 🌭
Gold - Churro 🥮

We are having an absolute BLAST watching these kids grow, and we are excited to continue to watch their journey over the next seven weeks as they grow towards their new homes and lives!

The plan is to get pictures every week moving forward as they grow - and we have all kinds of fun props for them to play with!

(I apologize for not having updated pictures of Midway yet - there was a lighting malfunction with my camera that I missed until last night, so I will fix that tomorrow. Also, no group shots of the kids this week due to them being absolute chaos demons. 🤣)
