POSTING TO SHARE, by request.

I'd like to address something I've seen that's becoming pretty common:
"I just want a pet. I don't want a show dog."

It's fine to just want a pet. But if you're looking for a specific breed, you want that breed *for a reason*. Which means that you want a dog that fits the breed standard in all ways - structure, temperament, instinct/drive, and type.

I don't know when "I'm okay with a pet" became synonymous with "I'm fine with a completely out of standard dog."

There's not a nice, gentle way to say this: if you don't care whether your dog looks "like a show dog", then go through rescue. Truly. There are plenty of perfectly good pet dogs that may fit all of the qualities you're looking for, and those dogs need homes, too.

But don't settle for a poorly bred dog from a sketchy breeder just because you "don't want a show dog", for two reasons:
- Unethical breeders shouldn't exist.
- Unethical breeders exist because people who "don't want a show dog" give them money and keep them in business.

I guarantee you that you won't be able to tell why the puppy an ethical breeder washed as a pet IS a pet. A reputable ethical breeder who is breeding to the standard tends to produce *consistency*. Which means that their choices are based on subtle nuances and differences that the average lay person just can't see. A breath of a length of forearm. A slight shift of layback. The tiniest touch of better overall balance. If I put one of my pet puppies and one of my pick puppies side by side, only breeders who know the standard can tell the difference.

Part of having a specific breed is loving and accepting the heritage and the history of that breed. It's why they look and act the way they do. If you don't like a specific part of their aesthetic, I am willing to bet there's another breed that will fit your bill - with over 200 breeds in the AKC and something like 500 worldwide recognized by FCI, there's a leash for every hand.

If you want a dog of a specific breed for a specific reason, you deserve for that dog to be well bred. More importantly, *that dog deserves to be well bred*. For their mental and physical health and longevity, they deserve to be bred well and thoughtfully and with care, to the written standard for that breed.

TL;DR - "I don't want a show dog" doesn't mean you should be willing to support an unethical breeder.

A show dog and a pet - both from the same litter - for attention.

Changes are in the wind for this page, and our breeding program, but in the meantime, I thought I might post a quick FAQ:

Q: Do you have any puppies available?
A: No, we do not currently have any puppies younger than 13 months available.

Q: When is your next litter?
A: At least six months after the last of the extra sets of testicles is lovingly homed, in which I have slept for no less than a week straight.

Q: No, seriously, when is your next litter??
A: Probably at least late 2026 at this point.

Q: Do you have any litters planned?
A: Yes, I have several litters planned.

Q: So when is your next litter?
A: Early 2027. Probably late 2027.

Q: Didn't you say 2026 earlier?!
A: Every time you ask, I will push the date back later.

We are actively in the middle of trying to move, and I was taking care of the better part of 30 dogs while simultaneously having a complete mental breakdown. Y'all, I am tired. I am burned out, and I need time and space to set up a new household, rework some living and dog methodologies, and breathe. I need to find a joie de vivre in my dogs again, I have a mile long list of dogs that need to be shown and finished, and being badgered about putting more puppies on the ground while I still have more dogs in my house than I should is pretty frustrating.

I promise that when I have a litter actively in the works, I will announce it and open a waiting list. Until then? I don't have any puppies, and I don't have any immediate plans to have any puppies. I will happily refer you to other breeders who do have puppies and/or have plans for puppies. I am not them.

Please stop asking. 😘

Shaq (who is available, and is still technically a puppy) for tax and attention.

We're still waiting on a few pictures, but it was a win of a weekend at the TriStar/Tullahoma shows in Lebanon!

Friday:
I was honored to be asked to judge the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of American Regional Sweepstakes, as well as the Tennessee Valley English Cocker Spaniel Club Sweepstakes! It was a fun day from the center of the ring, and I was privileged to award some lovely dogs.

Saturday:
Judge MOLLY MARTIN
Kaz: Won the Bred By Adult class, and went on to Winner's Dog and Best of Winners for his first two points!
Harbour: Wasn't quite as confident as her brother, but we made it through! She was second in Bred By and Reserve Winner's Bitch
Guinness: Piloted his favorite child to a second in her very first Junior Showmanship class, then took Select Dog and Best of Breed Owner Handler for his first two points towards his Grand Championship!

Sunday:
Judge DOUG MCFARLAND
Kaz: Made a repeat of Saturday, winning his Bred By Adult class, Winner's Dog, and Best of Winner's for two more points!
Harbour: Did a little better, but was still a little overwhelmed. Second in Bred By Adult and Reserve Winner's Bitch
Guinness: Did some good work with Grace, for a second in their Junior Showmanship class, and they looked good together in the breed!

It was a GOOD weekend back! Congratulations to all of the winners!

AVAILABLE: RETIREMENT HOME

Taisce (Tash-kuh) has been a valuable influence on our breeding program, and as much as I would love to keep her forever, she's ready to be somebody's center stage spotlight. While she does well with other dogs, she would far prefer to be in a very small pack or a spoiled only child. She has absolutely earned her place as queen of the couch.

Taisce is an amazing house dog. While she can be a naughty food thief given the opportunity, she is not destructive in the house, nor does she potty inappropriately. She does tend to be aloof with strangers, but she is adoring of "her" people and is an excellent cuddle bug. Nearing eight hasn't slowed her down at all - she is incredibly athletic, and is very quick to pick up new training. I always intended to get her into agility, but life gets in the way, and we just haven't had the opportunity to pursue that. That said, Taisce is not particularly patient with puppies, even her own - she wants somebody else to teach them manners before they come talk to her. 😂 While she has been incredibly patient in the past with "her" kid's toddler/childish antics, parents with small children should not plan to use her as a babysitter - she's not that kind of dog, and needs to be given the grace to leave situations where she may feel overwhelmed.

Taisce is an accomplished show dog, completing her Grand Championship quite easily and with a list of Specialty honors. Despite this, she doesn't love showing - while I would entertain the idea of placing her with a Junior for Junior Showmanship, there would have to be an understanding that some work and relationship building would be pivotal to success in the ring.

Taisce is already spayed and has recovered from her surgery beautifully. She is up to date on rabies, heartworm negative, and has recently been boostered with a Nobivac 5-way plus Corona. She has been fully health tested, and is Hips Excellent, Elbows Normal, Thyroid Normal, Eyes Normal (with breeder options), and Auscultation Normal. She is current on Simparica Trio, and will come home with an additional dose for the next month, as well as a modest transition kit for her new home. I am asking a modest rehoming fee to cover the vet bill for her surgery.

Taisce is GCH Fantasy's End of the Rainbow, and she is by "Mojo" GCHS Renaissance Kiss's Casanova JH out of "Rendi" GCHB Vizcaya's Rendition of a Fantasy CA

Hi, folks!

If you're genuinely interested in Rowlf, Ziggie or Rhys, please reach out to me via messenger or text 6155387154. Especially if we've chatted and you feel like I've forgotten about you.

I felt like I had really great placements for each of these boys, and I'm struggling to get some commitments from folks. Unfortunately, since I'm working against a time constraint and an impending move, I really need to get these boys settled ASAP.

Ziggie being silly for attention tax. 🤪

*** AVAILABLE IMMEDIATE PLACEMENT - PET HOME ***
This silly, sweet little cuddle-bug is Ziggie, from our Augie x Mari litter of September 2024. This darling boy is really the perfect example of a Vizsla - dashing good looks, just the right amount of smarts, and that typical adoringly sweet Vizsla boy attitude. He is a sweet little doll of a boy, and one of those that makes me wish that I could win the lottery and keep "just a pet". My loss is some very lucky family's gain!

Ziggie has been out and about a good bit, and has shown that he can be a bit shy and needs a little time to warm up and feel confident. Once he feels sure of himself again, his tail is up and wagging, and he loves nothing more than a bit of silly fun romping with his favorite people! He adores children, and is far more likely to approach a child for affection than a strange adult.

While Ziggie is a Vizsla, and needs some daily romping time and regular mental stimulation, this old soul in a young body loves nothing more than just existing with his favorite people - spending time outside gardening, taking a leisurely walk, or snuggling on the couch for some Netflix and chill. He is more submissive in a larger pack, tending to stay well out of the way of spats and drama, is not particularly possessive of toys or other items, and is the last one in after yard time. He is very typical of Vizsla boys in his softer tendencies - a sharper correction can cause him to crumble and melt, although he rebounds quickly with a bright affectionate word.

Ziggie is fully up to date and ready to come home as soon as he finds his perfect fit. He is crate trained, has excellent leash manners, and has had several ring craft sessions. While I fully expect a puppy of this age to be completely potty trained, and he is very good about letting me know when he needs to go out, new homes should expect an accident or two while he gets used to the change in environment and the new rules and expectations - just like with any new dog.

As always, Ziggie comes to his new home with a full, lifelong health guarantee and a modest "welcome home" kit to get him started.

As we are having to move unexpectedly, Ziggie's placement fee has been reduced to help find him the amazing home that he deserves. Because we realize that many people are feeling economic strain in our current times, his fee is further negotiable for the right home. My primary concern is his proper placement!

If you think you might be the perfect fit for Ziggie, please reach out to me through Messenger or by emailing fantasyvizsla @ gmail.com .

*** Tentatively placed and definitely adored! ***

Some of us just can't catch a break, and Ferris is unfortunately in that company. Good company, but unfortunate never the less.

This sweet, loving boy just hasn't been able to find a place all his very own to land, at absolutely no fault of his. Every time we've thought he's had the perfect placement, the Universe has interceded in some way, and Ferris has ended up back with me. And while he will always, always have a home with me, boy Vizslas blossom the best when they have their own special attention - and Ferris is absolutely no exception. He is not thriving here in a sea of red dogs, and I am determined to find him the perfect home where he can blossom with all the adoration he deserves.

Everyone who has met this boy absolutely adores him. He is sweet and snuggly in the way only a male Vizsla can be, and he is overwhelmingly eager to please his people. Outgoing and incredibly charming and friendly, Ferris has never met a stranger in his life, but little bitties hold a special place in Ferris' great big smooshy heart. He adores children, going so far as army crawling up to toddlers so that he can flop over and offer his belly for pats.

Ferris can be a bit enthusiastic, and is a typical two year old Vizsla in that he does need a moderate amount of exercise - but he has a well-developed off switch, and loves nothing more than snuggling up with his favorite people for some downtime. Like most male Vizslas, Ferris will teach you the meaning of the word velcro! He can be a bit whiney, but he typically reserves his vocalizing for when he needs to go outside to go potty. He is decently well-mannered in the house - he can be a bit enthusiastic when he first comes out of the crate after some down time, but tends to settle quickly.

Ferris is already neutered and completely up to date on all of his medical needs - and his microchip and AKC registration will be transferred to his new family on me. He is well mannered on a leash, well socialized, well traveled and rides very well, fully crate trained, and excellent with other dogs. Ferris naturally has a very silly personality, and fits very well in any turn out group. I would actually prefer that his placement home have one or two other dogs - but because it is very important to me that he receive a good deal of attention, I will not place him in a home with a large pack.

We did think we had finally found his perfect placement early on this year - but an unexpected and life-altering medical diagnosis unfortunately necessitated that Ferris come back to me. His person absolutely adores him and was very upset to let him go, and has very generously offered to finance a large portion of my normal placement fee. Because of all of this, and because I am determined to find this boy the forever home that he deserves, I am ideally looking for a family that has already been through my process and been approved.

Ferris is out of our Vito x Rua 2023 litter, born March 20th.

*** UPDATED: AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY - SHOW HOME ***

This utterly scrumptious, silly, sweet stud-muffin is Sampson, from our Augie x Mari litter of September 2024. This darling boy has it all - dashing good looks, just the right amount of smarts, and that typical adoringly sweet Vizsla boy attitude. He is a giant cuddle bug - and I do mean that, as Sampson is on track to be on the higher end of the standard at maturity, and he has all the bone and substance a girl could want in a dream boat of a boy dog. 😍

Sampson is our male pick of the litter from Mari's litter by Augie, and I'm sure you can see why - he is a beautifully built, sound minded boy with a lot to offer with the breed. While we would love if his home would be willing to either show him or allow him to be shown, we do not have the luxury of time to wait for such a specific home. Therefore, the proper fit of home takes absolute precedence in his placement.

Sampson has been out and about a good bit, and has a gentle, easy going demeanor. His tail is always wagging, and he loves nothing more than a bit of good fun with his favorite people. His size can be a bit intimidating to smaller dogs, and he sometimes forgets how big he is, so he may not be a good match for homes with small or older dogs already in the house, or with small children that aren't steady on their feet and able to hold their own space.

Sampson is fully up to date and ready to come home as soon as he finds his perfect fit.

As always, Sampson comes to his new home with a full, lifelong health guarantee and a modest "welcome home" kit to get him started.

As we are having to move unexpectedly, Sampson's placement fee has been reduced to help find him the amazing home that he deserves. Because we realize that many people are feeling economic strain in our current times, his fee is further negotiable for the right home. My primary concern is his proper placement!

***Lovingly placed in her forever home!***

Arden
Auggie x Aurora

Arden is a wickedly smart, sassy, silly, exuberantly naughty female puppy that is available to an active pet home. Born on September 14th, 2024, as part of our "Places To See" litter, Arden is ready to come home as soon as we find the right family for her.

Arden is a busy girl that will keep you on your feet, and so she needs a family that is more than able to keep up with her. Fortunately, she's also the silliest little clown - so even if she can be a bit exasperating, she'll keep you laughing! Incredibly affectionate, Arden loves nothing more than being the center of attention, and she is quite intelligent and eager to please. This little girl would likely do stellar in a range of performance sports - even just for fun.

Arden is excellent with other dogs, and her clownlike temperament often makes her friends as ready to run as she is. Because of her energy and personability, it would likely be beneficial if her new family has a slightly older dog - around 4 or 5 years - to help balance her and give her a friend that can keep up with her and take some of the edge off. Because she is a bit naughty, I would prefer her prospective family have previous Sporting dog experience to help smooth her transition and keep expectations reasonable.

Arden is very sweet (if very exuberant) around children, so a home with very small children likely wouldn't be right for Arden, as they might find her a bit overwhelming in her affection. Similarly, Arden has been introduced to a cat, and while she hasn't been aggressive, my kitty did protest to the amount of slobber she enthusiastically lathered on him, and it did take her a few good smacks from the murder mitts to learn to back up and respect the growl and hiss.

Arden is crate trained, potty trained, well started on her leash manners and house manners, and rides fairly well. She has started some obedience, but all of my homes are eligible for up to $200 back after the successful completion of a beginner training class. She is up to date on vaccines, deworming, and pest prevention, and she will come home fully vetted and with an extra month of prevention. I send my puppies to their new homes well stocked to ease their transition, and homes convenient to Nashville can take advantage of up to 30 days of free boarding at my home per calender year - I adore getting to see my kids grow up, and they love coming to their first home to run with all of their extended family.

I am so blessed that we had the opportunity to breed to Auggie, and I have really enjoyed watching these kids grow up over the last few months. They have been a great comfort to me in some incredibly trying times. But, sadly, I cannot keep them all - and they are getting to an age where having several is basically wall to wall chaos, so it's well beyond time they find their people. 😅
