Hii! Meet Quartz!!! The SWEETEST boy you'll ever meet!

Quartz is one big goofy lovebug. He's always looking for a headbutt or rolling over for a good belly scratch. Despite being large and lazy-looking here in his condo, he loves to play, especially with a wand toy or stalking a toy mouse. He's an easy-going guy who will make an excellent feline companion.

He will be at Novato this afternoon! Come on by and meet him!

Hi Everyone!
We are sending out a specialized post about a dog named Claire Bear being returned to us in one week from today that we would really like to find an adoptive home for so that she can transition from her current home straight into another one as she has lived her whole life with her family, and is about to lose them, her house and everything she has known and is familiar with. She is an extraordinarily easy, friendly, social dog who loves people (especially kids), dogs and cats.

She is an Anatolian Shepherd mix who is quite the big girl at 120 pounds and 6 1/2 years old. She is a healthy, gentle giant who loves her family, swimming at the beach, going for walks and playing with other dogs (whether they are large or quite small). She loves balls and carrying her stuffy’s around with her. Her best friend is her cat brother whom she adores and sleeps with, and unfortunately will not be joining her. The two of them are partners in crime and love to sneak up on the couch together and cozy up when their mom is away. Her pet parent has to move in with her mother to help care for her, and the new place does not allow dogs. Her mom says that she’s the best dog she has ever had, and her heart is beyond broken that she needs to surrender her. She has been with her family since she was 12 weeks old, is well trained and has a beautiful personality. She is not a farm, outdoor or guard dog, she loves being with her people (which also includes a child) and other animals.

This transition will most likely be hard on her which is why we are trying to find a home immediately that she can go to, instead of having her be moved around in foster care or coming into the shelter.

If you or anyone you know is a big dog lover and is looking for a peach to join their household, please share this post asap. We have one week before her family moves, so time is of the essence. she is located in the East Bay, and meet and greets can be set up in the East Bay and Marin County via both of our offices.

Please email Juliet Boyd at [email protected] for more info or inquiries.

Thank you for reading and sharing this post! Cheers!

L.A. FIRE UPDATE - How We're Helping and How You Can ⬇️

We're in daily contact with L.A. area shelters and have a team on the way to L.A. to bring adoptable animals (not pets displaced by the fire) back to our shelter. This creates critical space at those shelters to house the pets of people who've been evacuated. We're also preparing to send trained staff to care for animals on-site to relieve exhausted L.A. shelter staff as well as animal services officers to provide rescue and reunification.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Donate:
The best way to help is to donate money directly to established animal shelters in L.A. We recommend donating to:

L.A. County Animal Care Foundation, lacountyanimals.org
Pasadena Humane, pasadenahumane.org

Foster:
We always need foster homes, especially for big dogs, shy kitties, and rabbits, and when our new guests arrive, a calm, quiet home would be the best place for them! Please consider signing up to become a foster at marinhumane.org/foster.

Adopt:
The more animals adopted here, the more room we have for new animals arriving so now is a great time to adopt! To view our adoptable animals, go to marinhumane.org/adopt.

Look for more updates soon and thank you for supporting the people and animals affected by these tragic wildfires. ❤

Our hearts go out to all the people and animals affected by the current wildfires in Southern California. 💔 We're in communication with our fellow shelters in the region and are on standby to assist as needed.

This serves as a reminder to make a disaster plan, check your go-bags, and ensure that your pets also have a go-bag! Disasters can strike at any time; don't get caught unprepared.

Yoshi and Pharell are a special pair of dignified cats with gentle, sweet natures that came to us as brothers from another mother. They were quite confused at first, as they had been left at the shelter after their person moved out of state. They were quick to open up and trust new people but it seemed clear that they needed a lot of extra TLC to get them in their full glory.

Big "brother" Pharell is a gorgeous senior Maine C**n cat that appears to have the longest torso we've ever seen in a kitty. He's got that magical woodland creature element to him, with his fluffy mane and tall pointed ears and deep-set eyes. Despite his huge stature, he still manages to fit in the kitty-napping nooks and is content to lounge about waiting for his next meal, or a chat and pet session with any nice person who visits with him. He is mellow overall, until you have to try and check his ear or put him in a crate, and at that point, he can be fast and nimble and you realize his enormity. In other words, a typical cat with double the stubborn strength.

Handsome "little brother" Yoshi, has been a diamond in the rough, letting his older brother take the limelight and slowly settling in and revealing his personality, opening up a little more every day. He's generally a quiet kitty, but at least once a day randomly, you'll hear him talking to himself with high-pitched baby meows. He is still a young teenager after all, and might even have a little more growing to do. When we first met him, he was attached to Pharell and it's evident that they're bonded and should stay together. He would love to take his time getting to know his new family and opening up on his own timeline, with Pharell right by his side.

Let's help them find a forever home together! You'll enjoy their company so much! For more info or to apply, visit our website www.marinhumane.org
