The girls threw a party for Raven’s birthday yesterday. There was a play, cookies, bones for the dogs, a banner, and my personal favorite, pin the nub on the boxer! My husband wind by a landslide. It was super cute. 🥰

What would happen if you fed your dog🐶 245 cloves of garlic🧄 in a week??

21 years ago an experiment was conducted by Japanese scientists🇯🇵 who wanted to know what would happen if dogs were fed lots of Garlic Extract🧄💦 for 7 days straight.

At the end of the trial, NO dogs died.🙏

In fact, none of the dogs even showed any symptoms, but the scientists found microscopic🔬 changes in some red blood cells🩸, leading to the conclusion that garlic may be toxic☠️ to dogs.

How much garlic extract was fed to these dogs in the study, you ask? Well it would be the equivalent of feeding a 70lb golden retriever🐕 245 cloves of garlic for one week (2.46lbs of raw garlic).

Since then, the ASPCA, American Kennel Club, HSUS and most online pet resources continue to say “garlic is toxic to pets," but garlic is listed as a safe pet food ingredient by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO). Confused? So are most pet lovers around the world.

I have a new garden buddy. Opal loves all fruits and veggies. I wish I would have known sooner to start earlier! I am convinced it is because I started offering them right away. I didn’t do this with Ember and Raven and they are much pickier. However they are trying things because she is eating them! We also started cutting back on kibble, and they get fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, eggs, garlic, and fermented dairy (Kiefer, yogurt, etc.) the adults are trimming down and all of them are trying new things as treats. Hello blueberries!🫐

Have you tried cold celery for your pups to teethe on? It makes a bit of a mess, but Opal loves it! She also loves whole carrots ❤️

Does you dog relax in the car? Today we spent a training session rewarding calm behavior in the car while my girls were doing swim lessons. I also rewarded her look at me each time I said her name. Take the time to train your puppy each day.

Ricky & Tami Story bought their second dog from us today, and they are transporting a second puppy for the Payne Family! Ricky & Tami bought Grace last litter and Brutus this time. The Paynes bought Groot last litter and Rocket (Jet) this litter.
Rick and Tami also brought us gifts ❤️ the little girls and I got special handmade blankets and boiled peanuts from GA! I have had a boiled peanut since I left the holy land, and I am so excited!!
We loved these families ❤️❤️

Update: Nova is sold! We are so happy ❤️

We are sad to say that Nova has a heart murmur. While this could be completely normal there is no way of us knowing positively that nothing will come of it.
Here is a quote about puppy murmurs at a young age, “What is an innocent or physiologic heart murmur?
An innocent or physiologic heart murmur is a heart murmur that has no impact on the dog's health. It is very common for young puppies, especially large breed puppies, to develop an innocent heart murmur while they are growing rapidly. The murmur may first appear at 6-8 weeks of age, and a puppy with an innocent heart murmur will usually outgrow it by about 4-5 months of age. This type of murmur is benign (not harmful). In general, a physiologic or innocent heart murmur will have a low intensity (usually Grade I-II out of VI) and does not cause any symptoms or clinical signs.”

For this reason of not being able to say 100% that she will be fine, we are accepting offers on her (to an approved home). We want her to go somewhere great, and this may be just the opportunity you have been looking for to own one of our babies. She is a beautiful girl, and we had even considered using her in our breeding program before settling on Opal a few weeks ago. Obviously she is pet quality now, but her confirmation is lovely. Please message me privately if you are interested. My vet is willing to speak to you before you make your final decision.
