In May of last year we got the call. A dear Rescue friend was frantic, she had witnessed a dog get run over and drug under a truck on a freeway.
She didn't think, she just acted by instinct and scooped up the dog and drove her to the animal hospital ..on a prayer. She didn't have the resources to pay for all the surgeries and care this dog needed.
On that day in May, we didn't think we just acted and of course we said yes.
Little did we know then, what a very special girl we were saying yes to.
With multiple breaks to her pelvis and a leg that could not be saved. Our three legged, starved Ofelia-Callie was and still is a miracle!!
We cried so hard when we picked her up from the hospital (where she has stayed nearly two months!!). She was so starved she only weighed 42 pounds..
Ofelia-Callie has fully recovered from all her surgeries, she is spayed and went through Heart worm treatment, all thanks to YOUR donations. P.S she now weighs 55 pounds!
We will let her photos tell the rest of her story. She is now living the dream in Minnesota!!
She will always have a very special place in our hearts.
Huge thank you to her Rescue angel, and her rescue Village!!

Baby Captain America has a lot to say!!!!
Okay so I wasn't going to post another wishlist for a week or two until the pups got bigger...
Well leave it to their little Super Hero names! They have their eyes open and are NOT staying inside the big bed nor the empty pool we tried with blankets.
Long story short we can really use puppy rounder I've added to this new list.
Thank you to all our loving supporters that are helping Wonder and her super pups!

Jenni is safe from neglect and mistreatment
This week we were tagged on a post for a puppy with an embedded collar. The owner had tossed her out to fend for herself. A Rescuer in the neighborhood saw how the collar was cutting into her skin and removed it. The owner started to threaten the Rescuer saying he was going to dump her somewhere.
She put out a plea for a Rescue and our partners at Northern Lakes Rescue tagged us and this is how sweet Jenni"s Rescue Story began.
Jenni has been neglected and mistreated. She is very scared of everything right now. She has been in our care for 3 days and shown nothing but love from us. However she still cowers in fear with her tail tucked between her legs every time we approach her. She is safe inside our isolation room. Every day we try to coax her out the door but she is still too afraid to leave the room.
She is just a baby about 6 months old.
Her wounds are healing. Her spirit will take longer to heal. This is a sweet innocent baby girl. She is so sweet and loving.
Bless her angel Kayla and our NLR Family for helping us get her safe.
I can't leave her room without crying. Its just not fair the abuse and neglect our beautiful dogs in Texas are subjected to.
If you see animal abuse and neglect please step up and be their voice. You may be their only hope.
If you can spare $5 to $20 to help with her Vet care we would be very grateful.

Our Rescue pups enjoying their new teething toys!
Thank you to our loving supporters! Our Rescue pups love their new teething toys. We are very grateful for the pee pads!!
We know how lucky these beautiful pups are to have been born at our Rescue. From isolation, high quality food, dewormer, Vet Care, full round of vaccines a lot of ❤love and care...We put in a lot of work to ensure their health and safety.
So many puppies do not have any of things. So so many puppies are born on the streets or in back yards of people that either don't care or cannot afford to care for them. Too many die of preventable diseases like parvo.
It is puppy season in Texas. Rescues and shelters are so over full. Please consider becoming a Foster for a Rescue Group or a Shelter. Fosters save lives.

Wyatt Update!!! Forgottendogs.org/donate
Wyatt!!!!! ❤❤❤ Update!
He was attacked by dogs, shot by humans and either run over or beaten so severely it shattered one leg and broke the femur joint on the other leg. Left in a field shaking and freezing.. Dying that day was not his fate.
Waytt's Angel and our dear friend Alaina Rosenblatt saved him and rushed him to the Vet. We all cried when we learned all he suffered.
After now three surgeries Wyatt is safe at our Rescue. The surgery to plate his leg took over 5 hours yesterday. Although they normally would have kept him hospitalised for a week... With our extensive experience in Medical Rescue.. We picked Wyatt up today.
THANK YOU to all our loving supporters that donated so far!! We cannot do this without your help and prayers too!!
Wyatt still has a long recovery ahead. He is anemic and on supplement for this. He is on antibiotics and pain meds for pain and inflammation.
He is very under weight. He has also been diagnosed with adult heartworms.
We will never know what events Wyatt suffered through on the streets of Houston. BUT we do know we will spend every moment helping him forget them.
Welcome home Wyatt to our Rescue.
We still need $3,600 to cover Wyatts Vet bill. Please continue to donate if you can and please please share.

Christmas Miracles on the mend!!
Little Pups Update!
On Saturday we took our 3 little sick pups to the Vet. We never take chances with bloody stools and sick lethargic babies. Not eating and dehydrated.
So tests at the Vet told us Coccidia and a positive test for Parvo.
We rushed home and began supportive care including Sub q IV fluids.
These babies have bounced back so quickly!!!
*Do we wonder if it was the emergency Vet Care ( B-12, Strong Antibotic, Anti-emedic Injections) Sub Q IV Fluids at home. Slow intro refeedings of bone broth and rice gave us this result?
*Do we suspect that we may have gotten a false positive Parvo test? Because we have never had pups beat Parvo symptoms this quickly? Do we wonder if this is a severe case of Coccidia. Of which symptoms are very much same as Parvo...
*Or do we also wonder if their recovery is due to the prayers and love we have poured into these little ones with all of you?
Today we will take all of the above as our answer!!
We are not second guessing our little Christmas Miracles.
We are very grateful for your love and support!
Their recovery is still just beginning! Today is their 2nd dose of Coccidia meds. Now we must get the mange gone and skin healed!!
Here is Mama Honey and her pups Jingles, Bells and Santa Paws!!
Yogi Rescued from Cleveland, Tx
On October 30th we saw a video online of a dog living under a trailer. His condition was heartbreaking. So many dogs in Cleveland, Tx are neglected left to die a slow painful death.
Our friends and fellow Rescuers, Brat and Lisa step up and saved this boy for us!
On that day he got a name and a place in our hearts.
Yogi was treated for mange, skin infections, eye infections and a UTI.
He was also starved and full of every parasite you can imagine.
Today it is not the weeks of medicated baths, not the diligence of small 6 meals a day, not the vitamins, supplements for his skin to heal that we reflect on. Its Yogi's kind sweet heart that shines even when the world had forgot him.
Notice him saying thank you to Brat and Lisa as they said goodbye in his rescue photos. They always know when they are safe. They never forget who saved them.
30 days of proper medical care and today Yogi is loving Rescue life!
Help us save them. There are far too many Yogis out there that need our help.

These 8 pups were dumped in a park Houston. We stepped in and saved them at last minute.
We are very busy but wanted to give you an update on our Sugar litter. These babies are doing wonderful and have a lot more room to play now.
Your donations help us with vetting costs, spay and neuter surgery's and food for all our Resxued fur kids. Thank you to all our loving supporters!
Mexico pups
Thanks so much to the rescue community here in Ajijic, Chapala, Mexico, for their help and support for the tiny babies I rescued. Much appreciated Lori and Cari!!
Baby Nemo Update. From paralized to running the Rescue!!
Baby Nemo Update!
Baby Nemo came to us after he was hit by a truck and left paralized to drag his back legs for two weeks without vet care.
This little warrior had a will to live and we fought to save his life even after we were told to euthanize him.
Nemo has regained feeling after steroids. He has progressed so well that he now has control over his bowels and bladder. His little tummy was so infested with worms that a large bulge was thought to be an abdominal hernia.... after worming him that has healed too!!!
Nemo is fully vaccinated and unstoppable!!
His healing journey is not over yet. Nemo's knee joints do not function, he also has very little muscle mass in his back legs.
Nemo is waiting to hear from a specialist to see what can be done for his joints.
Thank you to all our Nemo supporters. We saved him with YOU!!
We saved Birdie from euthanizia. Now we need YOU to help us save her life and remove this tumor!!

Baby Nemo's a Miracle!!
The moment you have been waiting for!!! Baby Nemo update:
Nemo came to us dragging his back legs, he had no control over his bowels nor his bladder. He was also thought to have an abdominal hernia. The first Vet we spoke to wanted us to euthanize him.
However!!! We were Nemo's voice that day and with a lot of love, care, physical therapy and a series of steroids.....
Baby Nemo is up! He is not only using his back legs, he is running and playing, he has control over his bowels. Although he still leaks a bit of urine at times, he is standing up to pee!! The inflammation on his tummy that was thought to be a hernia is almost completely gone!!!
Nemo still has no feeling on the tip of his tail and has started to chew it, we are following up with his Vet next week for this. One of his back legs is still weak and falls to the side and we will continue to help him recover to the absolute best he can.
Nemo has proven that miracles happen. Thank you everyone that has supported him with prayers and donations. Please watch video to the end...yes we taught him to roar on command!!

Nemo is up!!!
Happy tears!! Baby Nemo has been pulling himself up on all 4 legs today!!!
This is a small victory that we want to celebrate with you! Nemo came to us a week ago today. He was run over by a truck and not given any vet care for 2 weeks. The first Vet that saw Nemo only recommendation was euthanasia. We fought for him and reached out for a second opinion. Nemo has had no feeling in his back end, and cannot control his bowels. Our Loving Vet that saved Teddy's life was our second opinion. He placed Nemo on steroids to see if that would help him regain any feeling and function.
Well look at this little fighter today!! We are so hopeful that this is the beginning to continued healing for Nemo. Thank you for your prayers, and the love and support you have given Nemo.
We will always be the voice for the animals that need us most.

Baby Nemo run over and left with no vet care for 2 weeks. Nemo is paralized and we are trying hard to save his life.
Update Baby Nemo:
Today Nemo is on steroids for the 5th day. We are seeing small improvements with him using one back leg at times. He has walked on 3 legs to his water bowl this week.
Nemo still cannot control his bowels, this is our biggest concern as there are many complications that come with this type of paralysis.
It is so important that Nemo stays clean, having no control he must be cleaned and his bedding changed every 20 minutes.
We can really use your help with washable pads, soft blankets and small breed puppy food we have added to his wishlist.
Please continue to pray for Baby Nemo. We don't yet know if he will recover from his injuries. We do know that Nemo's life matters. He just wants to play and be loved.

Baby Nemo needs us all right now, he needs a miracle.
Baby Nemo went to an excellent Vet today. We now know Nemo has feeling in both back legs. However he has no feeling in his rear, he has no control over his bowels.
He is full of huge worms.
Nemo started on steroids today. He still needs a miracle. This baby is not out of the woods yet. We are fighting for him, and praying that he can be saved!
Nemo may still require surgery. He is playful and sassy when we take his food bowl away. We are hopeful he will regain the ability to control his bowels. We have wormed him, and are showering him with love.
Please, please send Nemo your prayers and positive healing thoughts.
((Nemo is 8 weeks old, we were told he was run over 2 weeks ago, and drags his back legs. He also has a possible abdominal hernia. Xrays showed no bone fractures))
