Good morning!
We love waking up to this adorable face! Rigby is feeling good today! He is still recovering from kennel cough and we are waiting for some lab results, but he has more energy and is definitely more comfortable!
Meet Maple! Her family is going through a tough time and they weren't able to give her the attention she needs. So, they did the best they could for her by surrendering her over to our rescue.
Her coat is greasy, matted, covered in dirt/mud and, when she shakes, a cloud of dust forms around her! We are going to get her cleaned up, vaccinated and spayed! Then, she will be ready to be adopted!
Can you guess who was treated to breakfast in bed this morning?

Do you all remember Buster? He was adopted last year and renamed Jack by his new family. He was an insecure puppy when we rescued him and his parents were continuing to work on his socialization. Unfortunately, during one of their walks, an off-leash dog ran over and attacked Jack. He didn't get hurt, but he was already nervous, and this interaction set him back to where he was scared of everyone who got near him. His mom reached out to us and he came over to visit our pack so we could give him a positive experience around other animals in a controlled environment.
Although we have several new faces, Jack knew and was friends with many of our resident dogs. However, we weren't sure he would remember any of them or would still feel the same as he did before towards them. We expected some negative behavior, but Jack was immediately excited to see everyone! He ended up having a blast (wish we got more videos of the dogs actually playing) and we discussed doing some more visits in the future so he could burn off some anxious energy and socialize with his pals.
We truly care about every animal we rescue and we want to help them in any way we can; even once they are adopted.
In this case, Jack just needed his friends to be there for him. We can all understand that.

As we wrap up 2023, take a moment to celebrate with us and look back at some of our animals who found homes this year!
Have a safe and fun New Year's Eve and we look forward to rescuing more next year!
Update: she has found a family!
Courtesy post: Help Pearl find a new family!
Pearl was recently adopted but one of her parents quickly found out he was severely allergic to her. Despite allergy shots, creams and supplements, he still feels miserable. She clearly can't stay with them, but they love Pearl and do not want to send her back to the shelter.
Pearl is a very sweet Pit mix (they even ran a DNA panel so you can see what other breeds she's mixed with). She is just 2 years old, 55lbs, spayed, up to date on vaccines and housebroken. She gets along with all people, and, even though she hasn't been around many animals, they think she would do well with other dogs. She did fine with the pups at dog beach and you can always set up a meeting with your dog to see how they do!
Located in Temecula, CA, but her owners are willing to travel for the right home.
Please email us at [email protected] if you're interested in meeting her!
Molly is running full speed into this holiday weekend!
Are you as excited as she is?!
Our hearts are still hurting over losing Duncan, but these guys always bring a smile to our faces. You just can't help it. They're little monsters who get into everything, but they are so happy, goofy and adorable!
If you haven't submitted an adoption application yet, get one in ASAP at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.org
It doesn't matter which way he turns, Duncan gets smothered with kisses! This is how much he is loved. Even our dogs adore him. 💕
Finch had a recheck at the vet where we found out he is no longer contagious so he got the "all clear" to join our pack! Here we are doing first introductions with our other small dogs. Finch is a bit nervous, but we see the beginnings of a bromance!
Finch will be neutered soon and available to adopt after!
Submit your applications in early on our website at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.org
Team stick chewing.
When it's too hot to run around and wrestle, they come up with alternative games.

Euthanized :(
We spent the last week visiting shelters and reaching out to potential adopters and fosters. It is emotionally draining to see the number of animals in need right now. Shelters are all so full that most kennels have multiple dogs. We met so many friendly, beautiful dogs that when we saw one who was afraid or had a medical issue, we knew their chances of making it out alive were slim. We wish we had the space to take them in.
One particular guy just hurt our hearts. This is Milo. He has been at the high kill shelter of Devore, San Bernardino for over a month. Considering that we saw dogs come in last week that have already been euthanized, it is amazing he is still there. Especially since he is skinny and has skin issues. He is also in the very back corner of the shelter where no one sees him.
Milo is only 2 years old and needs help. If someone will foster him, we will rescue him and get him to our vet. His foster may need to help give medicated baths but we will provide all supplies needed.
Please visit our website at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.org to fill out a foster application.

Duncan has been through a lot lately. After spending a weekend at the ER, getting a toe amputation the following week and then getting chemo the next week, we wanted Duncan to just have some fun. He got his stitches out and was feeling better after his last chemo treatment, so we spent the day at the beach!

Duncan has had a lot to say recently! He is still healing from his toe amputation so we have had to limit his activities, but he is bored! He wants to go outside to play and he keeps yelling at us because we are party poopers.
We are just glad to see him feeling peppy again. His appetite is back and his incision is healing perfectly!
Also, we got the lab results back for his toe and it wasn't cancer!
He is doing so well, his oncologist said he could resume his chemo. As we sat in the waiting room, we could hear him also barking at the techs in the back! They came out and said he was obviously feeling better because he was intensely watching them carry a bag of treats around the ward and was demanding they give him some! (They gave in and let him enjoy an entire bag)!
We hope the delay in treatment doesn't affect his chance of reaching remission but he is fighting hard. For now, Duncan is back on track. He will be getting his stitches out next week which means he can finally go run and play! Duncan told us he deserves a special trip to the beach to make up for being cooped up the last couple of weeks and we are looking forward to it!
