Thank you to everyone who donated dog food, toys and gift cards for our pups! We have more donations on the way and, of course, this photo doesn't show the gift cards that have been added on our account! You all are amazing! We go through several bags of kibble a month and it adds up! This will help us tremendously!

Since your support has fed our dogs, we wanted to provide a meal for one of you! As promised, we drew a random donor's name last night! The winner of the Domino's Pizza gift card is Bitsy and her mom Ruby!
Congrats!

⭐️AVAILABLE TO ADOPT!⭐️

Anita is enjoying a relaxing weekend and the little old lady has already passed out for the evening!

On a typical day, Anita is pretty mellow, but she can keep up when you're feeling more active. If you pull out her leash to go for a walk or she hears the treat jar open, she will act like a puppy again! Once her belly is full, she will roll around her dog bed, kicking her feet in the air!

Anita lives with other dogs and cats, but she definitely prefers people and would enjoy being the only pet in her next home. She will follow you everywhere and likes to always be near! Therefore, we are looking for a family where someone is home often.

Anita is about 9 years old, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Her coat is soft (not wirey) and requires some brushing but she doesn't need haircuts! She is in good health but doesn't have many teeth left. It doesn’t her slow her down from eating any of her favorite foods though!

If you're interested in meeting Anita, please submit an application on our website at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.org

Louie and Lola were overweight when they came back to us a couple of months ago. They have been eating healthy meals and are slowing losing the extra pounds. Louie is 5lbs less and Lola is down 3lbs! They are looking great and ready to find a home!

Louie and Lola are very sweet, easy dogs! Louie is more outgoing and friendly with everyone while Lola is a little more reserved and shy. She follows Louie and likes having him near. It may take Lola some time to warm up to you, but there have been some people she just instantly falls in love with and we don't know what makes them special to her! Come meet them and see if there is a spark!

Louie and Lola just want a place to relax and hang out with their human. They will follow you around the house and become your biggest fans. Louie and Lola are not super hyper but they can be playful and goofy at times. They love to cuddle and enjoy walks, car rides and chewing on toys.

They both get along with other dogs and cats but they wouldn't appreciate any young pups jumping all over them. They mostly ignore our animals.

Louie and Lola are a brother/sister pair who have lived together their whole lives. They need to stay together in their next home. They are approx 7 years old. Louie weighs 25lbs and Lola is 15lbs. They are housebroken, spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

If you're interested in meeting them, please submit an adoption application on our website at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.org

25/06/2024

Buster was always a bit insecure and we spent a lot of time socializing him before he got adopted last year. Unfortunately, he was attacked by a dog while on a walk with his new family and his anxiety came back. He was returned to us a couple of months ago and we knew he would need some more help to feel confident again.

Today, he enjoyed a car ride and visited the pet store. He is getting more comfortable with people and even goes up to strangers to sniff. He is still nervous and barks when he sees another dog he doesn't know, but he is doing very well with all of our dogs and has even made a few friends. He just needs a proper introduction to see that no one is going to hurt him.

He is doing so well, we feel Buster is ready to start looking for a new family! He would do best with someone who will give him boundaries/direction so he can feel secure. Since kids can be scary, Buster needs a home without small children. However, a home with other dogs and/or cats would be fine! He especially prefers females about his size and we have a couple available to adopt if you're interested in a pair!

Buster is about a year old, vaccinated, microchipped, housebroken, and crate trained!

If you'd like to meet Buster, please submit an adoption application on our website at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.org

⭐️AVAILABLE TO ADOPT!⭐️

When we first shared Loki online, we had foster offers and families interested in adopting. But, once we actually rescued him, everyone disappeared!

Poor Loki is still patiently waiting. He is a big, goofy, playful guy and would love an active person or couple to take him on adventures! He also loves to play fetch and will collect all the toys in the house because he can't decide which one is the most fun.

He is such a sweet-natured dog who just wants to be friends with everyone he meets! He just turned a year old and still very much a puppy. He needs more training to learn some manners because he tends to jump on people or pull on his leash when he is excited. However, he is already housebroken, crate trained and does well in a car! (He also started basic obedience classes in his foster home and the trainer says he is a very smart!)

Loki gets along great with everyone but can be too rambunctious for small dogs, cats or small children. However, he would love a big dog to play chase and wrestle with!

We think Loki is an Akita/Labrador Retriever mix and weighs approx 70lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Please submit an adoption application on our website at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.org to meet him!

Missy came back to us a couple of months ago when her mom became ill and was unable to care for her any longer.

Missy looks pretty healthy, but is a little behind on her vet care. We got her vaccines updated right away and a full groom. She was so nervous when she arrived, we weren't able to do a thorough exam, but we noticed she was having trouble eating her kibble. We finally got a good look inside of her mouth and saw a lot of plaque and so many rotting teeth, some were loose! She is in dire need of a dental! We got her into our vet and were told she will likely need most of her teeth extracted!

She already had her pre-op bloodwork done and she is in good shape for surgery, but we need to raise some funds to cover it! We included the estimate below.

We know a lot of people are struggling right now, but if you are able to donate even a few dollars towards giving Missy some relief from her pain, we would appreciate it!

We are having trouble with Facebook again and our donate button is not working. This has really affected our ability to raise money and we are working on fixing this, but, in the meantime, you can donate through:

VENMO: dominoeffectanimals
PAYPAL: [email protected]
ZELLE: [email protected]

All donations are tax-deductible! EIN: 46-0552864

Thanks in advance!

⭐️AVAILABLE TO ADOPT!⭐️

We can't believe this sweet boy hasn't found a home yet! Bandit is an amazing dog! He is friendly, loving, and playful, but not too hyper! He gets along with all of our other dogs and cats, too!

Bandit spends most of his days on his dog bed, chewing a bone. He loves walks but does get a bit excited and pulls or barks. Other than that, he is the perfect pup and he will make someone very happy!

Bandit is about 8 years old, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Charlie had his annual checkup a couple of weeks ago and everything looks great!

Back when he was misdiagnosed with epilepsy, we had him maxed out on every seizure medication they offered. They didn't do anything to control his seizures and they took a toll on his liver. His ALP was at a staggering 1,152!

It has been about two years since we found the proper diagnosis and were able to get Charlie down to just one medication. His new ALP value is 291! It's still a bit high and it will likely always be somewhat elavated just from being on medication, but it's so much better now!

Even though Charlie is getting older, he is more energetic and healthy than he was when we rescued him! (Also, for anyone keeping track, he hasn't had a muscle cramping episode since the end of January)!

We are so happy Olivia found the perfect home! Her parents just moved to San Diego from Canada with their Italian Greyhound. Their dog is a little shy and they wanted her to have a playmate to help her get out of her shell. Olivia is always ready to play and wrestle with her pals so we couldn't think of a better match!

When we brought Olivia over to meet her new family, she made herself right at home! The two pups became instant buddies. They now spend their days chasing each other and snuggling together. They are the cutest peas in pod. The sisters even had similar names! Their older Italian Greyhound is named Olive but, to prevent any confusion, they decided to rename Olivia. She is now Stella!

Besides having a new best friend, her parents have trained Stella and take her on adventures around town. She is becoming a social butterfly and we couldn't be happier for her!

Congrats to Stella and her new family!

After a long week, these two always make us smile. Aren't they so adorable?

Mugsy is like a big brother to Rigby. They have similar personalities and both love to cuddle! So, when Rigby has worn himself out with all his puppy shenanigans, he always curls up close to his big bro! 💓

We have a lot to catch you up on but, first, we are getting ready for summer and cooling off the dogs with refreshing baths outside!

Molly isn't a fan of getting washed, but she looks and smell so nice now! Can you believe, she is still available to adopt!

Molly is about 9 years old and a purebred German Shepherd! She is very active for her age and could play fetch all day! She loves her ball and always carries it around with her! Even though she enjoys playing, she is very well-behaved in the house and will just lay by your feet when it is time to relax.

She is also very loyal. When she is left alone, she sits quietly and patiently by the door for you to come back.

Molly is friendly and gets along well with people. She doesn't bark, knows basic commands, does well in a car, and she is crate trained as well as housebroken. Molly gets along with other dogs but is dominant and would do best as the only pet in her next home.

She has been looked over by our vet and is in great shape! She does, however, have an eye condition called Pannus and takes daily drops to prevent vision loss. She may not have perfect eyesight but she can still see and has no problems finding anything or getting around.

Overall, Molly is a great girl! Well-behaved, playful, smart, loyal and loving! She has been waiting for over a year to be adopted and we know whomever chooses her will love this special girl so much!

Molly is currently being fostered in Menifee, CA but transport to surrounding states can be arranged for the right home. If you're interested in meeting her, please visit our website at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.org to fill out an adoption application!

We have been insanely busy the last few weeks, but we will be posting more regularly again soon.

During this time, we've also had many people requesting to surrender their pets. These are just a few needing new homes. We are overflowing with animals right now and, sadly, had to say no to every one. It's heartbreaking.

Information on each pet is listed below their photos.

If you are interested in adopting or fostering any of them, please email us at [email protected]. Most of them are shelter bound soon, and there's no space at shelters either which means they will all be at risk of euthanasia!

Hi, everyone! We wanted to check in since it has been a couple weeks since our last post. Unfortunately, we had multiple family emergencies come up over the last month and had to step back from social media to focus on them. All our animals are being taken care of and doing well. We will post more individualized updates on each of them soon!

In the meantime, here's Missy and Alby relaxing on the couch. Missy just got returned to us recently and is pretty nervous, but she is starting to get comfortable and make a few friends.

Leo needs a miracle! His parents are moving to a place where he is not allowed. They had a family lined up to take him, but they changed their mind at the last minute. Now, he has less than a day to find a new home before he is taken to the shelter. His owners are desperate!

Leo is only 3 years old. He is friendly and gets along with other dogs. He is already neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is also housebroken and crate trained!

Leo is currently located in Murrieta, CA

A foster or adopter will save his life! Please share and email us at [email protected] if you'd like to meet him!

We are beyond full, but we commit to our rescue animals for life! So, when one of them needs to be returned, we welcome them back.

Buster was adopted from us a year ago when he was still a puppy. He was always nervous, but his family planned to socialize him to help build his confidence. Then, a loose dog attacked him while they were on a walk and Buster became even more insecure. His family didn't know what to do and considered returning him to our rescue. We hoped they could stay together so we went to their home to give some training advice. He also boarded with us for a few days where he was able socialize in a controlled setting with animals we knew and trusted. He was doing great with us and we had high hopes for him. A few months went by and his family reached out again to let us know that they were traveling more and unable to keep up with his training so they needed us to find him a new home.

Buster is now back with us and settling in. He has been doing well and loves to cuddle, but he is definitely tense outside of the home so we will work with him more before he is available to adopt again. Hopefully, he will be feeling more confident soon!

Unfortunately, this is the fourth dog we have had returned in a month! We really need your help! We need adopters and fosters. We can't even consider pulling any dogs from shelters until we have more space and so many are getting euthanized right now, it's heartbreaking!

Please share our available animals to help them find families and message us if you are able to open up your home to a dog in need. Thanks!

You may recognize this pretty girl! Missy (previously Sookie) came back to us after 4 years with her family. Her mom didn't want to return her, but she was recently diagnosed with cancer. Between all the appts and feeling nauseous from chemo, she just can't take care of Missy, too.

We picked her up last night and she was very nervous but, today, she has found a spot on the couch to relax and adjust to her surroundings.

Missy is now 9 years old and needs to get her vaccines updated, but she is already spayed and microchipped so she will be looking for a new home soon!

Meet Kiton! He was a skinny, stray cat covered in urine, fleas and mites. He needed help and was lucky a good Samaritan started leaving food out for him so he didn't starve. Well, food was the way to his heart and he quickly learned to trust.

He was becoming such a friendly kitty, he was able to get cleaned up and take a trip to the vet for a checkup and treatment for parasites! That's when we also found out he is blind in his right eye. Thankfully, he does just fine with his one good eye! So, that meant he just needed vaccines and surgery to get neutered! He's had a whole makeover and is fully healed! Now, he is ready to find a new family of his own!

Kiton is only a year old and very sweet! He loves to cuddle and even gets along with other animals!

Owning a puppy is a big responsibility and a lot of work, even for us! All pups need proper socialization to become well...
12/04/2024

Owning a puppy is a big responsibility and a lot of work, even for us! All pups need proper socialization to become well-balanced adult dogs and valued members of a family. So many dogs end up at the shelter due to behavioral problems that can almost always be prevented with proper socialization.

Rigby came from an abusive/neglectful home and has always been a little nervous. On a daily basis, we expose him to new situations. He has met dogs, cats, and strangers. We touch his paws and ears, check his mouth, and hold him every day. He's also gets bathed, brushed and has his nails trimmed. He gets more comfortable each time! Rigby has even gotten used to the vacuum since we have to use it so often for dog hair!

You may not have considered that something as simple as wearing a collar, harness and leash can even be an adjustment! The harness took a minute to get used to but Rigby wears it when he plays with his friends and he now enjoys putting it on.

Inside the home, Rigby is doing well. But, he is not confident outside of that environment. He won't walk on a leash and sometimes panics and tries to hide.

So, today, we sat out front in the grass. While cars zoomed past and people walked their dogs, Rigby cowered as low as he could to disappear into the ground. After a few minutes, he suddenly sat up to look around! Of course, we make these experiences as positive as we can and reward his bravery with lots of treats! Then, he followed us to the end of the driveway! These are small victories, but progress nonetheless and we are proud of him!

Every spring, the shelters fill with puppies and unwanted litters. When we picked up little Rigby, two more families were leaving with baby fur balls. If you have a puppy or are considering adopting one, we included an easy socialization checklist. You will be grateful when your puppy grows up and feels confident in his/her surroundings. Plus, your dog will be so much happier, too!

(Several of these apply to socializing kittens, too! Basically, anything you want your pet to feel comfortable with as an adult, you should expose them to as a baby).

The best kind of failure--a foster fail! Maple has been adopted by the very people who have been taking care of her since she joined our rescue! She made herself right at home with them and wiggled her way into their hearts! We couldn't be happier because it's exactly the type of family we hoped to find for her!

Maple now has a kid to play with and two doggy siblings (one who was also adopted from us)! Her mom works from home so she is never short on attention and they often board pups so Maple sometimes has even more friends to play with! In fact, her mom said she loves that Maple can keep the bigger boarding dogs busy and entertained!

Maple spends most of her day wrestling with her pals and hopping from couch to couch during her crazy zoomies.

Maple's family already loves her and she fits right in, but they are also working on some training to help her be the best girl she can be! Then, she will be ready for summer camping trips and a life full of fun and adventure!

Desi was scheduled to get spayed a couple of weeks ago, but the clinic overbooked and we had to delay her surgery a couple of weeks. She finally went in today!

Desi is not feeling her best right now, but getting spayed is the last thing she needed to be ready to adopt. So, as soon as she heals, she she will be able to begin her search for a new family! Desi is such a sweet girl, we are excited for her to start an amazing life with people who will give her all the love and adventure she deserves!

In the meantime, she is going to be relaxing and getting spoiled with treats and chews to keep her busy while she recovers.

If you adore her as much as we do and think she may be a good match for your home, you're welcome to submit an adoption application early on on website at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.org

✨️AVAILABLE TO ADOPT!✨️

Leia has been in our rescue for over TWO YEARS! She has watched so many of our other dogs get chosen and she deserves a family of her own!

Leia is a big girl with so much love to give! She will give you endless kisses and hugs! Leia is goofy and playful and enjoys being outside where she can sunbathe. She would be happy to go on hikes with you but is also content just relaxing at home on a couch while you watch tv.

Leia is a little nervous around new people but really wants to please and be loved. It doesn't take her long to get comfortable and become your loyal shadow.

Leia is a healthy, athletic, 3 year old, 65lb German Shepherd mix. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and housebroken.

She has an adorable combo of one floppy ear, one straight ear, a cute spotted tongue, and the most expressive eyebrows! She also has beautiful, vibrant eyes!

Leia would do best as the only pet in the home and, due to her size, she should not be in a home with small children.

Leia is currently being fostered in Menifee, CA but transport to neighboring states can be arranged for the right home.

If you're interested in meeting Leia, please visit our website at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.org to fill out an application!
