Little Yellow Jack was the first bull in PBR history to win three Bull of the Year titles. He secured those titles in 2002, 2003, and 2004.

Little Yellow Jacket’s bucking career was monumental in the PBR aside from his three peat world titles. At one time, there was even a $1M Shoot Out match against LYJ and PBR World Champion, Chris Shivers. Little Yellow Jacket was attempted (93) times at the professional level only allowing 15 rides, with an average rider score of 92.93 points. Michael Gaffney turned in the highest marked ride aboard LYJ in 2004 at the Nampa, Idaho PBR Build Ford Tough Series event with a 96.50 point ride.

Raised by the Berger family of North Dakota, Little Yellow Jacket was bred to buck. He was a son of 1999 PRCA Bull of the Year 77 Yellow Jacket. Yellow Jacket was selected to the Wrangler NFR 5X and the PBR World Finals 1X. LYJ would surpass both of those finals’ qualifications combined with seven trips to the PBR World Finals spanning 1999 to 2005.

Little Yellow Jacket has made a lasting impact on breeding programs across the nation and can still be found in some of the top bucking bulls you might recognize, not to mention his direct offspring earnings have surpassed $250,000.

Notable Sons:
06 Red Jacket – 3X PBR Finals
404 Gunpowder & Lead – 3X PBR Finals
U27 Big Time – Proven Sire
122 Semper Fi – PBR Finals / NFR
Z8/8 Losing My Religion – PBR Finals
5060 He Reigns – LTE $23,326
715 Little Voodoo Jacket – LTE $39,635

Did you know that the dam to 3X PBR World Champion bucking bull 32Y Bruiser (Page T8) is a daughter of 3X PBR World Champion bucking bull 61 Little Yellow Jacket?

The mother to the 2021 PBR World Champion bucking bull is a daughter of 3278-0 Yellow Hair, who is a son of the great 61 Little Yellow Jacket.

The rankest bull going down the road, 19H Man Hater, even has a splash of Little Yellow Jacket in his pedigree. His mother is a daughter of 6322 Wild Willie, as son of TBB 6460 which is out of a daughter of Little Yellow Jacket.

Little Yellow Jacket built a resume inside the arena that is quite impressive. His genetics and offspring have continued to make their mark inside the arena as well.

Do you have any Little Yellow Jacket Genetics in your herd?

Older pets tend to have a calmer temperament

With the teething days behind them, and having grown out of old habits, senior pets are more likely to be easygoing. Many older pets still have lots of energy, only theirs are less overwhelming and destructive.

But there is another way we can bring senior pets into our lives: fostering. This is a wonderful option that removes the financial burden and still gives an aging pet a place to call home, even if it’s temporary. When rescue organizations “pull” an animal from a municipal shelter, it means they’ve agreed to cover the cost of any medical treatment necessary. Then, they endeavor to find foster families to shelter and feed the animals. Fosters play an integral role in extending and saving senior animals’ lives—and if the foster decides they’d like to adopt (lovingly referred to as a “foster fail”), even better.

This amazing image of Rhyolite, Nevada ghost town is one I hadn't come across before. Although undated, it likely hails from the 1920s. The buildings in the image are long gone. It's a fantastic snapshot of what was once a bustling mining town, now a top destination for visitors exploring Nevada's ghost towns.

This is one of the iconic photographs of the ceremonial meeting of the Central Pacific and the Union Rail Road lines at Promontory, Utah in early May, 1869. The completion of the transcontinental railroad was one of the most important historical events in the history of the nation. The railroad ushered in a new era of settlement and industry which profoundly impacted the mining regions of the western states

SENIOR ALERT! PRIORITY!! NEW PHOTO & WATCH VIDEO ON THREAD- Client stated she is very sick and not able to get around well anymore. She is now bedridden. Client stated she attempted to rehome Benson but was unsuccessful.

A volunteer writes: I'd love to be able to talk with Benson to ask him what the plan is. I respect the knowledge that comes from 14 glowing years of cat experience and I just want to know where he's going with it. A couch potato who is noted to be friendly and outgoing with strangers and children? Tell me more, Benson! Except, I can't really talk with him and even if I could, I'm not sure that he would want to answer me at the moment. Benson has been a very well loved cat and was brought to us because his person could no longer care for him. Shelter life doesn't seem to be the right fit. Each time I try to visit with Benson, he'll turn around to see who's there and return to his den disappointed that it's me. I've offered treats, toys, and all the kind words I can think of, but Benson wants to find his forever home and has only been wanting to put himself out there so much. Though the shelter hasn't been his favorite place to show his skills, Benson is ready to put all of his cat work and experience to the test with his new forever family.

For more information on adopting from the NYC AC&C, or to find a rescue to assist, please read the following:

If you are local to NYC, and within 3-4 hrs of NYS and NJ and you are SERIOUS about adopting or fostering one of the animals at NYC ACC, please follow the instructions here or message our FB page with our experienced volunteers that will do their best to guide you through the process.

* We highly discourage everyone from trusting strangers that send them Facebook messages, offering help, for it has ended in truly tragic events.*

If you can get to the shelters in NYC:
(212) 788-4000 (wait through the prompts to reach a live person)

Unfortunately we had to remove all the hyperlinks to their websites to see if this was the reason our posts kept getting flagged from FB. The one main link will bring you to many of the ACC outlets of their page such as what we have posted below.

Emergency At Risk Placement list, Emergency outcome list, Location and Hours, List of New Hope shelter rescue partners - You will have to navigate through their site. If you type in nycacc (with out the and) .org all in one word into your browser it should take you onto their main site. You will have to navigate through their site depending what you are looking for. Unfortunately we can't do it here as it creates the direct hyperlink to their site which may be the cause of our posts being flagged by FB. We hope this solves the issue for us.

They saw you watching over them
As they finally closed their eyes
They smelt your scent as they breathed
In and out for the last time
They heard the way your voice broke
As you told them they were loved
They felt you as you held them
With your gentle, farewell touch
And now they watch each morning
As you pass their empty bed
They watch you lose composure
And they see the tears you shed
They hear you bear the silence
Of the footsteps that are gone
That walk across your heart each day
Like echoes of a song
They feel the pang of emptiness
You get when you’re alone
In moments when you realise
That they’re never coming home
But in their darkest moment
You were there to hold them tight
And they just want the same for you
So you can feel alright
So they’re sewing you a rainbow,
Weaving ribbons through the sky
So they can let you know
That life is good beyond goodbye
So next time it is raining
And the sun appears as well
Just feel and look and listen
To what they are trying to tell
They’re telling you it’s spring there
With its showers and its sun
Where there are endless fields for them
To play and stretch and run
They’re telling you they sleep upon
The biggest, softest beds
That they have stitched from all the clouds
That float above your head
They’re telling you they’re not alone
For there are many others
And they’ve been reunited
With their parents, sisters, brothers
They’re showing you their rainbow
So you know they won’t forget you
And to tell you they will always be
So happy that they met you
And they’re telling you they love you
And though they’ll be dearly missed,
Not to worry, ‘cause it’s beautiful
Beyond the rainbow bridge

In a world of shadows, I softly tread, A little cat, with fears unsaid. Amidst the ruins, beneath the sky so gray, I whisper to the winds, "Please take this war away." With eyes of emerald, wide and bright, I gaze upon the day, I tremble in the night. Once there were warm laps, and gentle strokes of love, Now there's only silence, and dark clouds above. "Where are my humans?" I softly cry, "Why did they leave, did I say goodbye?" The thunder of guns, the flash of a fight, Turned my sunny days into endless night. I'm just a kitten, small and frail, In this broken world, where the brave hearts fail. I don't understand the reasons of men, Why they choose war, again and again. I long for a touch, a kind embrace, In this lonely world, a quiet, safe space. To purr once more, to chase a string, To find joy in the simple, little thing. Oh, world, hear my plea, a kitten's prayer, For peace, for love, to breathe sweet air. Let's mend what's broken, heal what's sore, And promise each other, no more war. Margot The Russian Blue Cat
