We are SO EXCITED to announce that our annual Christmas Online Silent Auction starts this coming Sunday, December 1st at 10 am and will run until Friday, December 6th. We love this event and it's a great way for you to pick up some gifts for your loved ones (or yourself!) while supporting local rescue. Things will be a little different this year as we are using a new online auction platform, however we are hoping that it ends up being a bit more streamlined for users and us alike!

Here are just SOME of the amazing generous donors who have provided amazing items that you will be able to big on so take a look! We cannot wait for bidding season to commence!

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Provincial Government Gaming Grant Branch for their ongoing support to us in the form of a Gaming Grant. The grant is incredibly helpful in helping us rescue animals and goes to their care in every facet. Both the animals and CCAR are thankful!

Our next bottle drive is exactly two weeks away on Saturday, December 7th and it will be here fast! Get rid of your empties before the holidays and help us rescue cats at the same time - we just did a big rescue so every bottle helps.

We will be in the Glanford location's parking lot (located at 4261 Glanford Ave) from 10 am - 2:30 pm that day - please note the ending time change from what we have done in the past. All you have to do is drop them off, and we will take care of the rest - including the sorting!

**Please note that we NOW TAKE take milk or milk substitute containers (including almond, oat, soy). However, we still do not take Ensure containers, soup/broth tetra packs, or creamer/whipped cream containers. These unfortunately do not issue a refund and go in your recycling blue box at home.**

A big thank you to Healthy Spot Pet Nutrition & Supply Victoria in Fairfield for their continuous support. They have donated dog food, cat food, toys, crates, and many other items to our rescue. Some of these have been donated by the public which is amazing and incredibly helpful to the work we do. **CAT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION**

Meet Tequila, Qiqi for short! Qiqi is a very sweet girl, and she is looking for someone to be her person - she is one and a half years old and fixed! She is very confident and loves to make friends with everyone. Although she enjoys new people, she gets very attached to her primary person and will become your shadow before you know it!

Qiqi is very affectionate, and enjoys curling up in bed! She takes her job as an alarm clock very seriously, and will wake you up at your usual time with cuddles.

Once comfortable in her environment, Qiqi becomes very energetic. Because she is still very young, she can be a bit mischievous. She isn’t very interested in scratching things, but she loves to climb on and play with anything she finds in the house. Qiqi would do best with an owner that has the patience to continue to teach her what she is and isn’t allowed to do as she grows up.

Since Qiqi is young, she would likely do best in a home without little kids. She is also very aggressive towards dogs, and would not be able to share a home with one. She may however be a good fit for a home without other pets, or with an older more mellow cat.

"With very heavy hearts, we are working to find a new home for our 10 year old cat, Nimble.

She is an indoor lady who would likely do best in a home without little kids or a dog. Nimble loves to sit near you and have some snuggles but is not a lap cat. She’s still quite playful and likes to climb her cat tower and chase ribbon toys.

She has been spayed since she was small and recently had some dental work done so is back to munching on her kibble.

We are looking to rehome her as our household has become a really challenging environment for Nimble with a possessive dog and twin babies. If you think Nimble would be a good fit for you, please reach out."

**ADOPTED**

Ollie is a six month old total sweetheart, ready to find his forever home! He is a very mellow guy who loves curling up on a warm lap and he doesn’t mind being picked up and carried. He gets very excited to see you if you’ve been away for a while and he will jump up and push his head into your hand for head rubs while turning on his biggest purrs. Ollie has a unique look with his sleek, all-black coat, a tiny white tuft on his chest, a cute patch of white on his belly and a stubby tail. Ollie is a big boy and will likely grow into a large adult cat.

Ollie is a very social kitty who’s happy to help with chores around the house—even the vacuum doesn’t faze him! He is usually glad to meet new people, especially if they have pats or toys for him. Ollie still has lots of playful kitten energy and he especially loves to chase balls. He also likes to discover his own toys and some of his favourites are a hair clip and his very special rock. Whether he’s lounging with you, lending a paw with household tasks, or playing, Ollie will be a perfect, loyal companion. Ollie is a confident and calm cat who would do well in any home. He has never met a dog, but he is likely to be fine with a calm and respectful dog friend. Ollie enjoys spending time with his sisters, Flora and Trixie, and they play together, chase each other from room to room and spend lots of time cuddling. Ollie isn’t an aggressive or dominant cat, so he would likely get along well with another cat given proper introductions and time to settle in. Ollie is neutered and ready today to find his forever family!

Happy Halloween from CCAR!

These are three 'sweet-not-spooky' six month old black kittens who really show how black cats can steal hearts! Trixie, Flora, and Ollie are in foster care and are doing well - they will be available for adoption soon. Big thanks to Lisa for sending us their photos!

Well our last raffle of 2024 has come to an end! The winner of our October 50/50 raffle is Sherry Downie with ticket number C-1847 - she won $1,320! Thank you so much to everyone who supported us by sharing and purchasing tickets, it means a lot to us.
