Hey from BakerBridgeRescue.com, I hope you’ve had a safe and peaceful holiday, and that your furry friends are doing well despite any recent fireworks or loud , noises. I wanted to take a moment to share a touching story with you. Recently, we were called by the local sheriff's office to assist with a special rescue. Meet Izzy, a black and white male pit bull whose owner unfortunately went to jail. We couldn't turn our backs on Izzy's plight, and now he's under our care, receiving the love and attention he deserves. As always, these rescues rely heavily on the support of our community. Your generosity makes it possible for us to provide shelter, medical care, and love to animals like Izzy. Any contribution, whether it's through donations or simply sharing our story, makes a significant impact. If you have a moment, we would be incredibly grateful if you could share Izzy's story and consider making a donation. Your kindness helps us continue our mission of giving animals a second chance at a happy life. And on a lighter note, we always love to see updates on your own pets! Please feel free to send us any recent pictures or videos – they truly brighten our days. Thank you for your continued support and compassion. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of animals in need. Warm regards, Betty and John. BakerBridgeRescue.com. Below is the NY site url, but they are with us in TN. Dear fellow animal lovers, adopters, and friends, I hope this letter finds you well and filled with compassion for our furry friends. As we enter the month of July, we are reminded of several pet holidays: "lost pet prevention month," "National Pet Hydration Awareness Month," and "ID Your Pet Day." Additionally, while it may not be a dog holiday, the "4th of July" brings about much anxiety for our beloved pets. During this time, fireworks light up the skies and create a symphony of loud noises that can leave our furry companions scared and stressed. Much like thunderstorms, they struggle to cope with the overwhelming sounds. It breaks my heart to think that many pets are lost during this period. Also be careful about leaving in the heat, outside or in a vehicle. Let's join hands and ensure that our pets don't become statistics. Let's take proactive measures to protect them.
One way to safeguard our furry family members is by ensuring they are properly identified. I urge you to ID your pets, whether it be through microchipping or, even better, by using a GPS apple tag. These small acts can make a world of difference in reuniting lost pets with their worried owners.
In the spirit of caring for animals in need, I also encourage you to consider adopting or fostering a dog or cat from your local shelter or rescue. Senior dogs, in particular, make wonderful companions, especially for older couples or anyone in need of a loyal friend to share their thoughts and feelings with.
While our hearts are open to giving these animals a loving home, it is equally important to acknowledge the financial support that is needed to continue our mission. I humbly request your generous donations to help us, local rescues, and pet transport organizations. Your funds are invaluable in keeping the wheels turning and ensuring that we can advocate for and support animals in need.
Remember, our mission to rescue and protect animals is an ongoing endeavor. In this pursuit, please always prioritize spaying and neutering your pets, as it plays a vital role in controlling the population and reducing the number of animals in shelters.
I implore you to contribute whatever you can to our cause and rescue efforts. Your donations, no matter how big or small, will make a significant impact. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these innocent creatures who depend on our love and care.
Thank you for your unwavering support and for standing alongside us in this noble mission. Let us be the voice for those who cannot speak, and the hope for those who desperately need it. With heartfelt gratitude, Betty and John, go to our website press support, BakerBridgeRescue.com

Kevin Red Heeler Mix “The Great”

Meet Kevin, a spirited Red Heeler mix with a heartwarming backstory. Rescued by Sheriff Kevin, he was found tied to a porch railing, abandoned without food or water. Named after his rescuer, Kevin embodies resilience and loyalty. At just over a year old and weighing 55 pounds, he exudes a vibrant energy tempered by a gentle demeanor. He's been nurtured back to health with vaccinations, heartworm chews, flea/tick medication, and regular deworming. While Kevin thrives in an active environment, he's not suited for households with cats due to his herding instincts. With his keen intelligence and instinctual traits, he's poised to excel as a valued working dog. If you've had experience with Heelers or are familiar with their breed traits, Kevin may be the perfect addition to your family. Consider adopting this remarkable canine companion and provide him with the loving home he deserves. Heeler Breed specific groups are welcomed. Please always spay and neuter all your pets. Together, we can create a future where every rescue dog finds their forever home and experiences the joy and contentment to so richly deserve With utmost appreciation and warm regards. Email us, I have video a plenty of Kevin.

Today is a somber day for Betty and me as we mourn the loss of another beloved senior member of our pack. Amanda joined our family roughly ten years ago, though the exact date eludes us now. Named after her benefactor, Amanda embodied strength and steadfastness as the Great Pyrenees guardian, dutifully warding off imaginary monsters and rustling leaves. She possessed a calm and serene demeanor, unshaken even in the face of adversity, her nightly vigilance matched only by her daytime slumber. Amanda found solace in the chill of winter and sought refuge in her basement sanctuary during the sweltering summer months.
Every day, I would visit the crew, sitting in the chair, offering pets, ear rubs, and gentle wake-up calls, all while bestowing treats upon them. Amanda always extended a wag of her tail, eagerly welcoming new rescues into our fold. Though her age had begun to wear on her in recent times, she never lost the kindness in her eyes, always trotting over to greet me, offering her paw as an invitation for affection.
The pain of losing a pet, whether through illness or old age, is one of the hardest aspects of pet ownership. Each dog, regardless of their origins, holds a special place in our hearts, considered as cherished members of our extended family. If you are also experiencing the sorrow of loss, please don't hesitate to share your feelings with us. Finding solace in the company of others who understand your grief can be immensely therapeutic.
We invite you to share your own stories of sorrow and success with us. Your support means the world to us during this difficult time. Wishing you all the best, and may you find comfort in knowing that our furry companions await us at the gates of heaven.
With warm regards,
Betty and John, BakerBridgeRescue.com

Calling all animal lovers & compassionate hearts!
On a typical Saturday, as we were winding down from our day, a call came in from the local sheriff’s dispatch. The dispatcher knows we’ve been easing off on intake, but They needed our help in rural Tennessee, where the need for animal assistance far outweighs the available resources. With no animal control, rescue, or shelter nearby, we knew we had to step in.
Two dogs were stranded at the home of an individual facing legal troubles. As we arrived at the scene, we were greeted by challenges and only one dog, a glimmer of hope in the form of a black and white Pitbull named Izzy. Despite his rough appearance and lack of care, his gentle demeanor shone through.
We’ve taken Izzy under our wing, with plans to provide him the care he deserves. From baths to vaccinations, we’re committed to ensuring he receives the love and attention every pet deserves. Our goal is not just to rescue Izzy, but to reunite him with his owner once he’s served his time, believing in the power of companionship for rehabilitation.
However, our resources are stretched thin, and we need your help to make Izzy’s journey a success. Your donations will go towards essential items like a new kennel crate, vaccinations, heartworm tests, and the crucial neutering procedure. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a world of difference in Izzy’s life.
So, let’s come together as a community of animal advocates and lend a paw to Izzy and others like him. Your generosity will not only transform their lives but also fill our hearts with gratitude. Thank you for your kindness and support in making a difference, one wagging tail at a time. 🐶💕 Donate today and spread the love! 🐾 go to BakerBridgeRescue.com click on support https://www.paypal.com/donate/?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=EB9VP54KJB4Y6&ssrt=1713694082324 - Please Share or repost 🐾🐾

Sandy was a beautiful girl. All of my senior dogs have been amazing. This pictures of Sandy below were taken recently before she passed. It was very sudden and she went very fast. Don’t give up on the hard cases, they’ll help teach us something you never knew you needed. This is A story about the life and death of Sandy Bandy and other senior companions.
Please consider Adopting senior dogs its such a blessing. It’s heartwarming in so many ways: the happiest days of your life, and maybe one of the worst.
Adult dogs often get passed over by potential adopters for puppies and younger dogs at shelters and rescues. Many senior dogs are available for adoption, were once owned and loved but, for one reason or another, found themselves in a shelter or rescue care and in need of new homes, through no fault of their own. They are some of the most loyal and loving souls and they’d love to prove it.
Adopting a Senior Pet: Older pets often come with fewer surprises. Senior pets are often less demanding. Older pets may already have training. Having in an instant, an unconditional loving companion with your senior pet right away, and You'll be the hero to prove it.
We found Sandy when she was about 8/9 years old. We got a call from a rural man who was referred by our local vet for a stray dog that found her way into his vicinity. His neighbor, a redneck lady, was threatening to shoot the stray dog he had put in his own fenced yard because she was upset her pit bull, who was trying to kill the female blonde lab, can you believe it? We went to see him right away and picked her up, no problem. We named her Sandy due to the color of her hair. We put her out there to see if someone was missing her, to no avail.
We must have had her for at least a year. Upon getting her, we had her completely vetted. She was already fixed but had heartworm, and with her age our vet opted to just treat with monthly HW pills. We had resigned ourselves to keeping her. Then one of our adopters, Diane, that adopted two smaller senior dogs, from a group of 4, from a house in north Georgia that the family was going to euthanize all of them because their brother died and no one wanted them.
Diane called and wanted a bigger dog, so we had one that might fit her needs. Glory, a 6-7 year old red hound mix. We showed the others we had, and just talking, I mentioned Sandy and explained about her heartworm. Through daily conversations, Diane grew to have feelings about Sandy. The benefit for Sandy was Glory was almost like her caretaker, like her bestie, so Diane agreed to adopt them both. Diane had generally always had big dogs; her last was a 110 lbs Dalmatian. So, a 60 and 70lbs were easy to handle for her.
Diane had Sandy for about a year and a half, we calculated, 17 months or so of joy and happiness. Diane noticed last week a difference in her as Sandy stopped waking her up at 5am to eat breakfast. Sandy had a very specific schedule of her own making, that Diane gladly agreed to follow, to make Sandy happy. She loved sunbathing on the deck laying in the dirt in her dug out holes under the deck. She loved walking in the neighborhood. She loved his siblings. Sandy was very easy going, never ever gave us or Diane problems. Like many older dogs, she started getting little growths and nodules on her. Diane’s vet had cut a handful of benign growths. On Friday 4/5, Diane called me to say she wasn’t eating, as anyone knows when the dog isn’t, it’s not a good thing. I suggested rice and chicken. Diane cooked her a big pot with many meals for the week. She ate the first meal right up with no problem. Saturday 4/6, she only ate a cupful and threw the rest up. Diane added Pedialyte to the water and syringed some of it into her mouth, thinking maybe she had a blockage or just illness. Sunday 4/7 morning wasn’t a good start; she could hardly walk on her own. By noon, Diane was on her way to the Animal ER in upstate NY. Everything cost so much there, 4-6 k. Monday they had found through blood work and sonograms that she had lung cancer and something wrong with her kidneys. Obviously, it’s so difficult to say goodbye, but Diane went back to the vet to say goodbye and let her Sandy Bandy cross over the rainbow bridge. Our hearts hurt, This moment is the worst moment a dog owner can have.
“Our Sandy passed very quickly...in no pain. Can we ask for more? Vet thought it best too.” Breaks our heart. But, at least, they trust us to make good choices for them, right up to the end, ending their suffering. Each little thing she did that I'm missing now but was unaware of then... is certainly highlighted now. there is a hole in our soul. “All good dogs go to heaven!”
Remember the dogs in the home, their bestie, will be grieving too, be sure to keep watch over them afterwards and take extra care to help the grieving process. She will always be in our heart ♥️

In Loving Memory of Our Senior Companions
It's been a month since we had to bid farewell to our beloved Charlie, a gentle giant who brought joy to our lives. In our own rescue haven, we now have 16 dogs and part of that, are the senior dogs—Susan, Gus, Cuddles, Oscar, Ruby, Lucy, Amanda, and Gavin, all aged 10 years or more, Plus the 6 others that are younger in various ages. These furry souls have left paw prints on our hearts, and their memories linger, as a testament to the profound bonds we create.
Remembering all the simple yet endearing habits that fill our homes with laughter, happiness, and even minor annoyances, these memories now bring tears of both joy and heartache. From kitchen mishaps to bathroom companionship, from nose art on windows to dog hair decorating our clothes, these quirks turned into cherished memories.
They'd misunderstand leash walking, embark on unsupervised "home repairs" like chewed walls or sofas, and, of course, there was the inevitable wet dog drool at inconvenient times. They keep watch over our homes, bravely facing off against phantom ghosts, squirrels, chipmunks, and pesky birds. Their disappearing acts during bath time or nail clipping became familiar routines, as did their enthusiastic barking at every passerby.
Treat time and hopeful eyes during meals, car rides with the wind in their fur, and joyful beach outings—all these moments are etched in our hearts. Yet, as pet parents, we inevitably face the heart-wrenching decision to say farewell. It's a choice born out of love, a last act of kindness to spare them any suffering.
In their final days, we can't bear to watch them decline any further, opting instead to be with them as they cross the rainbow bridge. Loyalty takes the form of being by their side, a comforting presence until the very end. They become our angels, leaving us heartbroken and missing them terribly.
Rest in peace, a sweet second chance to our rescued dogs. This decision is the hardest but also the kindest, a final gift of love. Our hearts ache for everyone who has experienced this loss, and we extend our deepest sympathies.
At BakerBridgeRescue.com, we've witnessed countless stories — of rescues, adoptions, and the profound impact of the human-animal bond. Our heartfelt thanks to the adopters who have become part of this team effort, saving lives and giving these dogs a second chance at a better life they so deserve.
As we celebrate the love we shared with our departed friends, let's also extend kindness to our current pets and fellow humans. Remember to spay or neuter your pets, keep their vaccinations up to date, and consider supporting your local shelters and rescues. Your donations play a crucial role in ensuring these organizations continue their vital work.
Good luck to all, and may your journeys be blessed with the love and companionship of our four-legged friends.
With gratitude and love, to our Adopters and animal lovers, BakerBridgeRescue.com Betty and John

In loving memory of our cherished Charlie, our big fluffy white companion with a hint of Tennessee red clay adorning his fur. We recently made the heart-wrenching decision to bid him farewell, opting for euthanasia and a gentle cremation at the vet's office. Our hearts remained steadfast as we stood by him, witnessing his journey across the rainbow bridge.
Charlie, a majestic soul, graced our lives for around 10 years, though the exact count eludes us. A sizable figure, he carried an air of calmness and an easygoing nature. Unfazed by brushes and somewhat selective in his interactions, he held his ground, demanding respect from his canine companions—respect that was willingly given.
We believe Charlie embodied the spirit of a large spitz-type dog, about 14 years old, weighing in at a sturdy 70-80 lbs. Not a Pyrenees, but his exact lineage remains a mystery. He patrolled the property, cognizant of boundaries, and held a certain wisdom about him, he was never a problem. A decade ago, he found his way to us from Dayton, TN, after a call from someone at the Treasure Barn. His past hinted at a rough encounter, a bad leg, and a hitch in his stride. Over time, his challenges grew—movement became difficult, accidents inside became frequent, and the porch steps posed a daunting obstacle.
Knowing his quality of life had diminished, we made the heart-wrenching decision to release him from his struggles. Our hearts ache for the absence of his calming presence, his watchful gaze, and the nighttime ritual of stepping over him on our way to the bathroom.
As we bid farewell to our dear Charlie, we urge you to honor your furry companions tonight with belly rubs and pats. Their time on this earth may be too short, but the love they leave behind is everlasting. Rest in peace, sweet Charlie.

A BIG 🐾 Thank You from BakerBridgeRescue ❤️

A heartfelt embrace of gratitude to each and every one of you who has showered Baker Bridge Rescue with love and unwavering support. Your shared moments of joy, captured in pictures, videos, and stories featuring the adopted pets you've welcomed into your homes from our rescue, you warm our hearts deeply. A profound thank you resonates for the thoughtful contributions of dog beds, blankets, toys, books, and the generous support and donations that you have graced us with.

To our adopters and cherished philanthropic friends, you are more than supporters – you are family. Your kindness over the years has been a cornerstone in our mission, and words cannot adequately express our appreciation. As we navigate the path of advocacy for animals in need, albeit at a gentler pace in our senior years, your continued support fuels our determination.

Let's join hands to amplify the crucial message of “spaying and neutering” for pet owners. Countless animals find themselves in dire straits, and your advocacy can make a difference. Please support RescueRidersllc.net too, for so many years of service and always carried our valuable cargo with love. Remember, the choice to adopt instead of shop is a powerful step; buying dogs from breeders only perpetuates a widespread issue across the nation. Together, let's be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. “Adopt-A-Senior Pet too”,

Hey everyone happy thanksgiving… I have a male dog name Kevin (named after his savior) he is a red heeler or Australian cattle dog mix, 1 year old very good boy, and very energetic, NO cats, good with most dogs, has cattle dog traits, alpha male type. This story is from Kevins rescuer, the police officer. “We got a call about a puppy being tied on a vacant properties porch and possibly someone trespassing on the property. I contacted John with Baker Bridge Rescue who agreed to help me, of which I was very grateful. I then secured the pup shortly after. 30/08/2023

In a poignant and sorrowful turn of events, we had to make the heart-wrenching decision to say goodbye to our beloved companion our 11 year old dog, Dazee Mae. The rapid onset of her decline caught us off guard - her once sturdy steps had grown unsteady, the simple act of rising became a challenge, and even the porch steps she used to traverse with ease proved to be a daunting task for her 110-pound frame. However, the most telling sign was her loss of appetite, a stark departure from her usual enthusiasm.
Our journey with Dazee Mae began approximately 7 years ago when we welcomed her into our lives. A couple who found themselves in a situation where they couldn't take her along as they moved entrusted her to us. At the time, she was around 3 to 4 years old, in good health apart from her more substantial size and posterior. Our intent was to adopt her without a second thought, given her striking presence as a large, beautiful blonde Labrador. Yet, as fate would have it, Dazee's temperament proved to be a challenge, displaying a fierceness that manifested in a formidable set of teeth when she resisted certain actions.
Over the years, though, she warmed to us, albeit with some reservations. Despite her affection for us, her attitude remained an obstacle to full adoption. From the outset, Dazee Mae grappled with weight issues, prompting our endearing nickname, "Fat Girl." We delved into medical investigations, considering the possibility of thyroid-related concerns. Despite these challenges, she found her place within our family dynamics, proving herself to be a loyal companion to the kids and our other canine friends. She was especially inseparable from Betty, almost serving as her shadow. Resting alongside Betty, she provided a sense of comfort and loyalty that extended beyond words.
Dazee's role transcended the realm of mere companionship. She emerged as an authoritative figure among our dogs, upholding a sense of order and discipline. In playful moments, as I would jestingly interact with Betty, Dazee Mae would intercede, positioning herself between us, her teeth bared as a show of her unwavering protection for her companion. In those instances, I would assure her of her goodness, coaxing her to ease her guard.
She was an embodiment of uniqueness, possessing a distinct character that combined strength and independence with a deep reservoir of affection. As we bid farewell to Dazee Mae, her absence will undoubtedly leave an irreplaceable void in our lives. Her memory will endure as a testament to the powerful bond we shared, a tribute to the complex and loving soul that she was.

Please adopt a rescue, dog or cat, from a shelter or online, adopt a senior dog, please donate your time or gifts in volunteering, fostering, gifts like blankets, food, toys, beds. Please spay and neuter your pets. BakerBridge Rescue.com

So here’s what I want you to do… go over to your 4 legged companion or companions, young or old, look into their eyes and give them a full 2 arm hug, for a minute or two, for everyday you live, they live a week, please enjoy your animal(s) companions and show them the love they deserve while you have them. (For that matter, do that to your human members, too.)
