There are some really great things about doing TNR and fostering homeless kittens. There's some really tough things too. Like this group of homeless kittens trapped in a trailer park. Too scared and old to be socialized in the space and time frame we have available - and too young to be fixed and released. So we foster them, try to help them overcome their fear of people, try to show them some love, only to have to release them in a few days or weeks after they are fixed to a life of uncertainty and danger. Anyone want to a adopt one of these beautiful kittens? They are not destined to be anyones house cat anytime soon. But if you're looking for a barn cat or an outdoor cat you would care for please let us know ASAP.

Amazing! Got a call yesterday from one of our rescue resources telling us someone contacted them about a pregnant cat in need of help. Apparently the people that had the cat kicked it out because it was pregnant. She arrived today around 1:00 PM. Had no clue how pregnant she was. We realize we have no idea when the Queens we take in are going to deliver. Went out to check on her at 7:00 PM. Look at this amazing, precious site! Mama looks so happy and so content she was making biscuits while the newborns were already nursing. She may still have more kittens on the way.
We were told that this cat is very young and that this was not her first litter. Apparently, the people kept her first kittens and kicked her out when they realized she was pregnant again. One thing we do know- this is her LAST LITTER and none of these kittens will add to the homeless kitten population, because they will all be fixed before getting adopted.

Do you have a pet cat that needs spayed or neutered? Are you dealing with a financial or physical hardship that has prevented you from fixing your cat? We are using the grant we received as well as a personal match from Love Give Live to help 10 people overcome their financial or physical hardship and get their beloved feline fixed. *Technically, this is not a TNR project. We recognize there is a need for this and normally TNR only works with homeless cats.

So the back story on yesterday's post… we got a call from a vet’s office that we work with. They were trying to help someone who was being evicted. The person had the Gray pregnant cat who we named Mamma Manor. They also had 4 unfixed 14 week old kittens that were from the same mother cat (her previous litter). In addition they had two more unfixed male cats that were from a litter before the litter with four. We agreed to take mom and however many kittens she was carrying inside of her, and her four 14 week old kittens. The plan was the person would be able to take the two oldest Gray males to the family member they would be staying with. Appointments were made to get those two males fixed immediately. When our five furry friends arrived, we got the four teenage kittens fixed within 24 hours. Mom gave birth to six kittens, five survived and are doing terrific! One of the teenage kittens was adopted today! On the sad side we learned that the two older Gray males were surrendered and we have no idea what will become of them. Mamma Manor has had her Last Litter!!!

It's been a blessing and an honor to be able to help so many homeless kittens, cats, and the people seeking help for them. Unfortunately, like so many other organizations, we have reached our limit at this time. We are not able to take in any more kittens other than our current commitments. We hope our ability to place them into great homes continues to be successful and we will be able to take more homeless kittens in the near future!

Tune In tomorrow to hear the back story on momma Manor's recent three litters of kittens! However, today's litter truly was her Last Litter!

Tis the season! We are testing our capabilities. Today we sent 11 cats and kittens to be fixed. None of them came through our “queen’ program (Rescuing pregnant cats). 8 then leave in the next three days to forever homes. Here is our Petfinder additions today! Here is the intro to their listings-for the rest of their stories see our Petfinder page!

"Available immediately!! We just welcomed this litter of 4 into our rescue at 14 weeks of age! Mom came along with another litter in utero. There is more where they came from, including an older generation of kittens belonging to mom. We believe mom and her future litter, as well as this litter are grateful and all looking forward to never adding to the overcrowded feline population they came from. The four arrived yesterday and this morning left to be fixed. Additional services will also be provided and we are getting these microchiped and they will have no ear tip because they are gentle and friendly. They just need someone to love them…"

Just finished posting two kittens LLR now has available for adoption. They were rescued and came to us when they were about six weeks old. They are a bonded pair and so we are looking for someone that would like to provide a furever home for both of them. If interested please inquire through our Last Litter Rescue PetFinder page. If you're not sure how to do that send us a message.
We also have three grown cats on our Petfinder page. Each of them has come to us with their own unique situation. Again we hope to clear up any misunderstanding - or worse - intentional false information being put out there- about the type of work we do to help a variety of felines.

We realize a lot of false information is being put on Facebook about our organization. So rather than get off Facebook we realized we need to put a lot more information that truly reflects our organization on Facebook.
FALSE information being spread- Love Give Live/Last Litter Rescue/Purrfect Love TNR does not help cats or kittens that have already been born.
TRUTH -we help many cats …and kittens that have already been born. Today 3 kittens that were brought to us for foster care from a rescuer-with them estimated to be around 5 weeks old at the time they were rescued and brought to us -now 12 weeks old and fixed went to their forever homes today. Little Calli, who is not so little anymore, was rescued along with 4 littermates and can be seen in the box they came in.
Jack and Jill, the gray and white kittens were emergency placements from a farm where the rest of the littermates already had on an unfortunate end. We stepped in and saved the last two. They came to us about six weeks old. Now 12 weeks old- they went together to their forever home today. Fixed and fabulous!

All 12 kittens got a clean bill of health from the veterinarian during their Wellness exams today. 2 litters of five, who came to us in the form of 2 pregnant Mama cats (Queens GG & April) who were brought to our attention when caught in a TNR effort. We had to start our own TNR effort due to other TNR groups not willing to let someone choose an option for a pregnant cat other than spay/abort. Stella and Stevie, our two orphan kittens, rounded out the group to make a perfect dozen! This group contains our first foster fail from one of our fosters! The husband of the foster mom couldn't resist keeping one of these for himself!

Here's an update on the post we put out a while ago letting people know about kittens that were coming up for adoption. We have many more baby kits that will soon be ready to put up for adoption. Watching our Petfinder page is the best way to see available kittens and a few sweet cats in need of a home.

These two beautiful orphaned siblings, Stella and Stevie, spent the last month in a foster home. They were actually fostered by a family who found them. Today they are making their big move to LLR, Headed to the vet for a Wellness exam, then they’ll be photographed, placed for adoption on LLR's Petfinder page. We are confident the number of inquiries and applications we will receive on this bonded pair will break any previous record set for LLR. We have a well thought out application and a meet and greet process that all takes place before any kittens leave here after their final clinic visit.

Coming soon! We rescue and foster both orphaned Kittens as well as kittens still inside their mother! Rarely do those kittens stay inside their mother very long. And it's always fun to find out how many were in there waiting 2 make their debut! Mom gets to stick around with them for a while. When the time is right, Mama is fixed and returned to her previous residence or placed for adoption. The kittens remain with us to be fostered, socialized, fixed at 12 weeks, and adopted. We begin taking applications when the kittens are six weeks old. We will begin taking applications for Jack and Jill next week. please share. Polite inquires or questions can PM us. Last week we cared for 9 homeless cats that will no longer produce homeless kittens. I think there was 8 males and 1 female. The word must be getting out among community cat colonies. I think the ladies are lining up to be fixed. So far this week we are caring for 5 females and 1 male. One female who is very friendly, beautiful, and pregnant will be entering LLR foster care at the request of the person who feeds her. Her date to be spayed will happen after her kittens are all weaned and the kittens will all be fixed before they go to their homes- which we will find for them.

Can you say full house?! We can't save them all, but Last Litter Rescue will do its best to save a few! Questions, comments, and inquirires can be politely directed by private message. A shoutout to the 3 individuals who requested our help to find an alternative to spay/abort of these homeless queens. All of these situations started out as a request to help fix homeless cats being fed by kind people through Purr-fect Love TNR. Then the individuals suspected the cat they wanted fixed was very pregnant and it was their request not to abort the kittens. Now momma and all the kittens will be fixed before they leave our homes.

The average weight of newborn kittens ranges from 80 to 120 grams. Check out the weights of these jumbo size newborns. The average weight of this litter was 140 grams. 40% larger then an average kitten. The average litter size is 4 to 6. Miss Maggie had nine. One was stillborn. Every litter we had last year had four kittens.

We are not sure how many previous litters Maggie had. Clearly, this was not her first litter because having 9 kittens was not a big deal for her! One was stillborn, so 8 is enough! We do know this is Maggie's last litter thanks to Last Litter Rescue! Maggie will be returning to the location she came from unless there is a major change in her demeanor. We believe she has been doing life outside and that's where she will be most comfortable.

Thanks Purr-fect Love TNR and friends for making sure Maggie will not be chased by Tom's anymore!

Major shoutout to the person that chose an alternative to spay/abort. Not only would all the kittens have been destroyed, but full-term Maggie may have not survived the surgery either.

Tonight we have a guest at our B&B. Barn and Breakfast. Actually it's more like a late night snack because this big boy that was recently caught will be a Tom no longer in the next day or two. This lucky guy is probably gonna sleep better than he has in a long time because he came in with a lot of nasty cuts which we believe is probably from fighting over mates or territory, or self-defense against predators. He has food & water- You just can't see them they're on the other side of his cage. Purr-fect Love TNR and friends to the rescue!

These lucky ladies are having their last litters! We know Mama Marie has had many many litters while being a homeless feline. We don't know anything about Magnolia. We do know any day now they're going to let their kittens come out to see the light of day, to play, and after we spay, they will move away to forever homes! Thankful to the rescuers for reaching out for an alternative to spay-abort.

Last Litter Rescue one of Love Give Live 's animal welfare initiatives is celebrating the request for help for someone that wanted to help a homeless pregnant cat and wanted an alternative to spay/abort. Say hello to Magnolia, "Maggie", our sweet new intake, a GEORGOUS, huge, queen that is ready to deliver any day. She is scared, but thankful for her warm, dry enviornment and her unlimited supply of food. A comfy birthing box awaits the arrival of her little family. Oh by the way, prior to even knowing we were getting this cat, we had a request for a kitten but had none. Prayers answered all around.
