Good Morning. This is one of those dreaded posts that is asking for much-needed pet donations here at Acres of Love Animal Rescue. There are several items that are needed in order for our animals to be happy and healthy. I’ve listed them below if you are able to help. I thank you so much - if you’re not able to help with items, we gladly accept prayers and shares. Bless all of your hearts, and keep on watching out for paws!

Dog Food (Tractor Supply, Blanco)
Cat Food (TS Salmon and Lentil Dry; Fancy Feast Chicken Pate canned wet)
Blankets, towels, bedding items etc for cold weather (clean please, I don’t have the appropriate resources to wash them)
Straw and Lg Pine Chips for bedding (excellent chips at K&C, Blanco)

BUDDY is a 5-yr old Lhasa Apso, 15 lbs, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, crate trained, microchipped, loving boy whose main need was to locate an excellent, forever home for him. WELL, that home/family fell right into Buddy's lap this morning! He will be officially adopted Monday, Oct 10!

What a great day at Acres of Love animal rescue! Had some awesome volunteers come today and work with the dogs and the dogs absolutely loved it. They're worn out and there's not a sound to be heard. Thank you Cooper, Cole, Townes, and Albert. We so appreciate your volunteer hours. Bless your hearts every one of you.

Today August 15th, is check the Chip Day! Visit your vet, Petsmart, Petco, etc. to have them scan your chip to make sure it is working. Ask them to give you the 1-800 number to the Chip Company so you can make sure the chip is registered to you!

Look who has a home! This is Pixie, who went to PAWS Shelter of Central Texas. Pixie is the adult female that was rounded up with the other 12 pups on 1304 and 290. On to a wonderful family life! Thank you PAWS Shelter of Central Texas - y'all are awesome. 🐾😊

So, I've had chance to check out all the Min Pins that came into Acres of Love on the 30th Apr and 1st May. It seems they are very young - all of them. Only one of the four males has both testicles descended. (Not sure of age as of yet and could be reason for them being (oh, I can't stand this word) dumped. (Gulp just for saying it!). All are healthy and at this point, I'm not even sure if the Adult "Mom" MinPin is the actual mother of any of these pups. Breeders don't just "dump" healthy, valuable pups for no reason, and it looks like the truth is now coming out, from what I've seen anyway. I have 1 female and 4 males. Adult MinPins, Maddie and Benson (now named Pixie and Sprite) have been transferred to PAWS Shelter of Central Texas. I am being kept updated on their progress and they are doing fantastic. They will be spayed/neutered Wednesday and vaccines given, and can be seen on Petfinder then under PAWS Shelter of Central Texas. These two sweetheart adults had to removed from the young ones so they could go on with their lives from being bred over and over. They both made it clear to me when they came here to Acres of Love. They will be adopted into wonderful homes to live the life they most likely never knew - a family with lots of love and acceptance. :) I'm being kept updated with Pixie and Sprite's progress and they're so ready for this. PAWS is doing great with them, and I can hardly wait to see their future homes!

We of Blanco County are Blessed by the Community with awesome people who love our pets. This page is a testament to that fact, as so many of you participate in helping our lost/found pets find their way back home to their families. When I started this page in 2013, it was to give a central location to accomplish that mission.
Here's what I would like to see for the future of our pets in Blanco County. One person from each subdivision or area of Blanco County to step up and create a neighborhood group or page that I can send posts to when received (and vice versa) to be posted on your neighborhood platform. That includes Facebook, Nextdoor, Email, Messenger, and any others that you may use to spread the word and help to get our pets home. So, for example, we have one person in the Koch Ln area, Blanco; Cielo Spgs, Whirmire Estates, Blanco, Johnson City, Hye, Round Mountain, Rust Ranch, Narrows Rd/32 area, 473W/281 area, Twin Sisters Estates area, Lake of the Hills area, Rolling Hills, McCall Crk Rd, etc. I know I haven't named them all and there are many, many more to cover, which is why it's so difficult for one person to manage it all. We have approx 2000 Good Samaritans who follow this page, but we have over 11,000 Blanco County residents and growing, which means we're only reaching a small percentage of our folks. Many do not even know about Blanco County Lost and Found Pets and pets are never posted. I would love to see our reach spread throughout the county and make a bigger impact than we've achieved thus far in reuniting pets with their owners. Not only will more people be reached, there will be faster return to home for pets and pet parents! If anyone is interested in stepping up for your neighborhood, please pm me and let's see if we can get this going. Thank you.

Update: MaryLou has a home and is so, so happy. Many thanks to PAWS Shelter of Central Texas, whose amazing staff made the connection for this girl's forever home!
****If everyone who applied for MaryLou and Ben would just go the shelters, who are now "killing" dogs for lack of space, there WOULD BE NO KILLING. . . Thank you all for your interest and applications for MaryLou and Ben, but we need to stop the killing for lack of space for our dogs.**** Thank you all!

UPDATE 4/30 10:50a: Another pup just found in same area - she is covered in cactus. Finder will take to Deer Creek Veterinary Clinic Johnson City, Texas, and I will pick her up there. SO, now there are 4 pups that will be coming to Acres of Love!

These sweethearts are 3 out of 13 total pups that were ***illegally abandoned*** on the Pedernales River Bridge at 1320 in Blanco County. Pups were dumped out by someone they trusted, and left to fend for themselves. Just shameful! If anyone has any information as to who would do such a horrible thing, please call BCSO and report the person. Thank God for the wonderful people who came together to round them all up and get them to safety before they were killed out in the middle of nowhere land. . .
Do we have any fosters, volunteers, or perhaps donations toward their care? Monetary donations may be made to Deer Creek Vet Clinic in Johnson City and will go toward needed medical care. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
