- Muzzle Monday Awareness - Muzzles are just a tool at the end of the day. We want to condition them as such. Remember, muzzling a dog is kind of like tying a humans hands behind their back as their mouths are like our hands. It can be scary and confusing at first. Help them understand the benefits and get to the clarity we all desire a lot faster! A muzzle SHOULD: - be conditioned properly - give confidence in handler - help show the dog there are better ways to handle a situation, other than aggression - take away a dogs mouth/teeth from the equation - build a dogs confidence in themselves & their owners Muzzles do NOT/should NOT: - mean you have a “bad” dog - only be used when going to a vet or somewhere scary - be used as a punishment Instead, condition them daily pairing them with good feelings and building some dopamine into the desire to wear them!
