After years of living with my hamsa neck neck tattoo being blown out and just not what I had wanted, I started getting laser tattoo removal from knowing I very much wanted a fine line rework, but I couldn’t find anyone close to me to do it. When we planned to visit Nova Scotia I checked to see if there were any fine line artists and I stumbled on Zoya’s insanely beautiful work. I reached out about starting the process of making it what it should have been.

Shortly after she messaged me having seen that I’ve started skulls paintings and asked if I would do one for her. Together we sourced this stunning boy from Wisconsin. She very much wanted a large spread rack and his was stunning. I did some additional bleach work on him to lighten the bone as much as possible for our design. Zoya provided me with a stunning peony design to work with. For the antlers she choose black with silver leafing poking through and we finished him up with a Satin varnish.

He made the journey with us from Upstate NY to Halifax Nova Scotia to my tattoo appointment. He now gets to prominent spot in her studio at Parklane Mall in her waiting area and I get a stunning hamsa/ lotus tattoo.

This collaboration will be one I remember fondly whenever I see the beauty of this tattoo❤️

New piece in the works. This one is featuring rose gold antlers and will be the opposite to the one I just completed. He’ll be feminine and soft (if a deer skull can be!).

Magnificence. I have no words for this piece. I’m beyond in love and so proud of this first euro mount deer skull painting.

The moment I saw him I knew I needed to do something special and I could instantly see it. Between his crooked horn and more aggressive eye sockets he needed to ooze demonic radiance. I needed him to look like the most magnificent and beautiful creature you might find in your nightmare. Won’t lie, also felt inspired about this vibe from some great books I’ve been reading by and .gogh.author ( ).

He’s been painted with a sealant primer, topped with a black undercoat featuring dark blues and grey. (Kids helped with this part). Then I got to work with my opalescent alcohol inks. A mixture of dark teal, deep purple, reds and gun metals. Of course I painted the hollows of his eyes a deep red. It’s subtle so when it catches the light just right you get an ethereal glow.

His antlers have been coated in gold leaf. Then using alcohol ink have a mystical distressed look.

Cute little tufted titmouse done in watercolor. Watercolor is tough for me as it’s a bit backwards from acrylic and I adore the look of flowing lines and letting the paint be, but my realism side easily takes over. I constantly need to remind myself to let go. Just like with parenting. Learning where to put focus and energy and where to let go. Some days I’m better than others. At both 🥴
But these little titmice have stayed around year round and constantly keep me happy and smiling and the bounce snd flit about. They have the shape of a cardinal but none of the flash. It isn’t until you really watch them you realize how joyous they are. Seemed fitting this would be my next bird. This one was done as a playful sketch but may still find its way to tumblers and tote bags in the future. Would love to hear your thoughts on this cute little bird.

Little sketch. It’s been a while since I’ve done one one paper and not on my tablet. Hoping to play with watercolor more this year (not just digital watercolor). Im hoping to just sketch more this year and not be as concerned about everything being a finished product. If it comes out nicely that’s wonderful! I also hope to add more birds to my collection ❤️
Any guesses what this little one is? It visits my feeder very regularly here in upstate NY.

Just painting some dinosaurs and some jaw bones 🤷‍♀️.
New years means trying new things. Both in what kind of work I do and how I get that work done. I’m still having a very hard year with needing to be very present with the kids and they’re changing their needs every 5 minutes. My now 4yo is becoming much more independent but my 2yo is intensely needy and needs a lot of supervision. He’s also not sleeping the best 🫠.
I’m still waiting to find out what if any shows I’ll be doing this year but I plan to continue to experiment. Like I am with these jaw bones we found from a deer on our property! I’m currently sealing them so I can try to use ink with them. Not sure how they’ll turn out but that’s part of the fun!! I genuinely don’t know what you’ll see from me this year. I’m really trying to focus on what things make me happy, not what sell best. My time is so limited I can’t be wasting it doing things I don’t enjoy. One of which is listing products for sale🤷‍♀️ so I hope you follow and consider joining my vip group as I’ll be continuing to use those as primary sales places for the time being.

They make awesome birthday gifts for all those parties we need to go to at a young age. I genuinely can’t share enough how much of a hit they are! Parents (myself included) are so overrun with the same toys that the kids stop playing with after 5 minutes then just get shoved in a closet. And there are soooo many parties now. Because a lot of my designs are gender neutral they’ve been perfect for both boy or girl parties. No need to find what doll they’re into or movie they’re watching.

They’re also super comfy and great for all around play! I love when my little dude picks out his ZCFA shirts from his drawer over all his other choices ❤️

Original geometric unicorn design from my panel graphic that I created for my son. This print has seamless repeating geometric unicorns and triangle geometric elements along with an ethereal/ nebulous background. Kind has a Lisa Frank vibe too! Though that was unintentional 😝

I can’t wait to see this as all sorts of things! Pajamas, tshirts, maybe even some adult dresses 🤔

My son asked for a unicorn bed spread and when I went online to find one all I could find was “cutesy and girly”. He may be a kid but I still love my kid stuff to fit into my home. So I searched for something more “masculine and streamlined”. I count find anything!!!

So I decided to start working on a design for him ❤️ But seriously, little boys love sparkly and glittery and unicorns just as much as girls do!! Why isn’t there more for them? Is this something you struggle with??

My new studio is done and I couldn’t be happier with it.

I know. I know. I made a studio less then a year ago and this is my third one I this house 🤦‍♀️ but life keep changing. As much as I loved my last space it had a couple of issues. We designed it for my husband and I to share, but that just wasn’t happening. I need a lot of room and I don’t like clutter. He’s a dump and go kind of guy 🫣. Secondly, the kids hit an age where they knew I was in there trying to work and they weren’t ok with that. Despite all the attempts to block it off they would break in or stand at the gate SCREAMING. Not the best working environment 🫠.

So when we had to repair a wall due to water damage and rip the wall out we took the opportunity and got the hot tub out. And while standing in the empty room it was clear it would make a wonderful studio.

I haven’t had a chance to work in this space yet but I’m so excited to. I’ve really tried to think of my needs and create “stations” for optimal work flow. Thankfully no new furniture was needed and I had ready purchased the flooring for the shed so we were set to go after the wall was repaired.

Hey friends! I’d like to introduce you to my sister in law, Toby. Toby has grown up with me and feels more like a younger sister. She’s 26 and has a developmental disability that has mostly affected her language comprehension meaning she’s not been able to learn to read and struggles with tasks that we often find simple. But Toby is an avid crafter and American Girl doll collector. She spends her time building items for them and doing photo shoots for her doll Instagram page

When she visits us she becomes my assistant and helps me with allllll sorts of tasks! Likely many of the products you’ve purchased from me she has helped with in some way. She fully assembles my magnets for me after I cut the pieces I like. She’ll place cards and art prints in sleeves and adds care cards and business cards. She’ll also help cut stickers with my cricket and has since shown interest in her own cricket projects. Toby has been a huge help to me when she visits to allow me to get lots done in short amounts of time.

Toby is currently making some beautiful jewelry pieces from “scraps” of resin with alcohol inks and gold flakes. She’s expressed interest in selling them so she’ll be doing a page take over over in my VIP Facebook group in a couple of days when she’s ready to show you what she’s made!

She’s been learning about product photography and how to determine prices for her work.

Had a great time tonight teaching some pretty cool Girl Scouts about art! We talked about a variety of artistic techniques, how to prepare a reference sketch and how to use a variety of media to achieve a desired look, then the girls got to put their new skills to the test! I think their favorite part was when color theory was used to darken orange by adding purple!
