This week has been one of the hardest weeks we experience as dog rescuers. Team Inchers, we have very sad news today 😭 On Wednesday, SHINE’s sick, little body went into a seizure and because of her weak heart (due to the advanced heartworm), she passed right after. Our veterinary team thinks she likely had epilepsy and her body was too weak and sick to continue fighting. We did everything possible to try to save SHINE, and this loss has taken a huge toll on all of us behind the scenes of Team Inch Sighthound Rescue. We care about all of our Team Inch dogs, and SHINE’s passing has left us all absolutely shattered and devastated 💔💔

SHINE UPDATE!! ✨ It’s good news today, Team Inchers!! The prednisone is working and SHINE is breathing a little bit better. She’s still in the oxygen chamber, but they’ve been able to reduce the oxygen level. She is being treated for anemia (from the heartworm). Her veterinary care team says she is not out of the woods yet, but she is heading in the right direction!! Go SHINE!! Keep fighting!! Get your sparkle back, girl!! ✨⭐️🩷🐾

ELMO is adopted!! 😃

June 16, 2025 - We recently received two Italian Greyhounds from South Korea, one of which was adopted a couple of weeks ago. The other one is a friendly, energetic little guy who unfortunately lost a leg to an injury. But that hasn't slowed him down at all. That's good because he now has an IG brother named Henri to play with! Congratulations to Elmo and his new family! - Mike Forrest

Double pupdate today!! 🤩 First up is SHINE!! ✨ We want to thank all the Team Inch family who have shared their love and support for SHINE, as well as donated to her care. We couldn’t help SHINE without your support!! SHINE is still in the thick of it. Her medical team has her in an oxygen chamber to help her breathing but she is struggling to breathe. She remains in veterinary care receiving 24/7 monitoring. We will update with more information as we have it, but in the meantime, please continue to send all your healing vibes to sweetie SHINE!! 🌟🩷🐾

Next up is PIXIE!! This gal is a fighter (just like SHINE)!! She has recovered well from her first surgery and will undergo her next surgery in a couple weeks. She is staying with her amazing foster family who have discovered PIXIE absolutely LOVES a walk and cuddles!! 🥰 Go PIXIE!! 🩷🐾

SHINE update!! 🌟 Unfortunately, it’s not good news and Team Inch family, we need all your thoughts, prayers and good vibes sent her way ☹️ SHINE has advanced heartworm (diagnosed at stage 3) and this is what is causing her cough and bloody urine (the heartworm breaks up red blood cells). She also has giardia and corona virus, in addition to being emaciated. We were hoping to clear both those infections up before starting her on prednisone prior to beginning heartworm treatment, as prednisone can make virus symptoms worse. But now, SHINE has heartworm induced pneumonia and we no longer have a choice, she has been started on prednisone immediately. SHINE is very sick!! We are hoping with everything we have that this special girl pulls through. She is receiving round the clock, 24/7 veterinary care and we are doing everything possible (humanely) to save her life. SHINE is not safe to fly to the US until her heartworm treatment is complete, but this treatment is hard on them and comes with its own set of risks. But, time and time again, with your support, Team Inch does not give up on our dogs and we will fight for SHINE, even if she’s not well enough to fight for herself!! PIXIE update!! 💕 This little sweetie is recovering well from her first surgery!! She moved to her foster home last week to continue her recovery until her next surgery in a few weeks. How adorable is she?! Cuteness overload!! 🥰🩷🐾

SHINE is a 5-ish year old whippet who came into our care last week!! She has some medical issues that are being addressed and she needs to gain some weight. She is a bit shy, but seems very sweet!! Isn’t she so pretty!! 🤩 More updates to come, but for now, please welcome SHINE to the Team Inch family!! 🥰🩷🐾

PIXIE update!! This special girl had her first surgery for a desperately needed dental and spay to treat the pyometra. She will need to go back in a month for the next surgery to remove the mammary tumors. PIXIE is recovering under veterinary care and we are sure will be feeling much better soon!! Huge thank you to our veterinary team, Team Inch volunteers and supporters!! ❤️‍🩹🩷🐾

We have someone special to introduce today!! 🩷 Meet PIXIE!! She is a senior (9-ish years old) Italian greyhound who came into our care this past week. Sadly, PIXIE shows signs of extreme neglect-she has pyometra and mammary tumors, she is emaciated, anemic, and her liver numbers are very high. Her teeth are some of the worst we’ve seen. She won’t be able to have surgery (surgeries) to remedy these issues until her liver numbers are in a safe zone. So for now, she is in veterinary care with 24 hour monitoring while she receives the medical care her broken, suffering, little body so desperately needs.

We remain hopeful she still has a bright future ahead, with a family somewgere out there that will give her the love she deserves but has likely never experienced in her lifetime. WE DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP TO DO THIS!! We know times are tough for everyone, everywhere, but PIXIE deserves a chance at life!!
