Save a Homeless Puppy, Rescue an Older Dog Original website was rcall.org . This website was one of the first for finding homes for homeless dogs. Started by helping local shelters and rescue groups.

Original motto was: Saving one dog won't change the world, but it surely will change the world for that one dog. I created the website for people to list dogs and to find homes for homeless dogs, before Petfinder and so other services were available.

We are looking for an angel....

Thomas Owen is in very great need of someone special to give him a loving home for his days ahead. This poor little boy was found out on the street by a good samaritan, who got him to us…thank goodness. Thomas Owen is an adorable Yorkie, about 10-12 years old and 9 pounds. He is a very nice and friendly boy, who enjoys leash walks, cuddling in a cozy lap, and exploring in the yard. He also gets along with other dogs. Thomas Owen plays very cutely with toys and even does a little fetch.

Thomas Owen does not like to be touched on his face or mouth, and will let you know with a bite. Otherwise he is easy going and sweet. Unfortunately, there is a reason for this behavior. Thomas Owen has a dark colored tumor in his mouth, (which is partially visible in the photos). This is likely a malignant melanoma, which must be bothering him. He also has a grade 3-4/6 heart murmur, but no cardiac symptoms now. Currently, he eats well, is very active, and has good energy. His prognosis is poor, but not known exactly, maybe weeks, months, or a little more.

If you are the person that can bring sunshine to Thomas Owen for the rest of his days, please fill out an application on our website, shihtzurescue.org.

Sasha was surrendered to the shelter with her brother Kilo. The owners son came back for Kilo but left Sasha behind because ”she is old” and he did not want her. She is roughly 5 years old, 67lbs. She is a very sweet girl! She sits and shakes on command. Please help us get her out of the shelter this week. She is available for adoption or rescue.

UPDATE: Sylvester found his forever home! Thanks to everyone who sent prayers and well-wishes.

We never ask our followers to adopt from us.
Those of you who follow us, know that to be true. But, we have a special case. Sylvester was a 2 month old, 1 lb 8oz kitten when he was found on a ramp leading to Interstate 4 !! He had some major injuries and was brought to us. A very generous donor offered to cover his medical costs and one of our volunteers offered to foster him through recovery.

His tail had to be amputated, his lower lip stitched back up onto his jaw, his leg fractured...but..he made it ! Blood work indicates that he is Fiv positive but that is not an issue.

He is now 3 months old and on his way to being fully vaccinated. Neutering will be next. All costs paid by our anonymous donor. Essentially, Sylvester is a Journey's End kitty. Practically, he cannot and will not live here because he is, after all, just a kitten.

We are asking for your help. Please adopt Sylvester.

Interested potential adopters must contact our volunteer foster at 386 490 5543 call or text. Please DO NOT CALL Journey's End. It is important that we find an adopter and directly calling the foster will ensure that Sylvester gets the home just right for him.
