Chevy and Tahoe are here to say that we’re opening our home back up to boarding guests! However, we’ll only be welcoming familiar faces at this time.

To keep things cozy and ensure every pup gets the care they deserve, we’re limiting bookings to short stays and won’t be taking on as many reservations. While we aren’t accepting new clients right now, we’re so excited to see our regulars back for some fun and snuggles!

Thank you for trusting us with your pups, we can’t wait to see you! 🐾🩵

🌟 Welcome to the Tails and Trails Team, Hayley! 🌟

We are beyond excited to give a warm welcome to Hayley as she joins our Tails and Trails family! 🐾 Having worked alongside Hayley at both daycares I’ve been a part of, I know firsthand that she is the perfect fit for our “In-Home Overnight Boarding” services.

Hayley brings an incredible amount of love, compassion, and dedication to caring for your furry friends, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to join forces with her to provide the ultimate boarding experience! 🐕💖

Our in home boarding services offers boarding right at your doorstep, making it convenient and stress-free for you and your pup. Here are some benefits of In home boarding:

✨ Less Stress, More Comfort: Being in their own home means your dog stays in a familiar environment where they feel safe and secure. This reduces stress and anxiety, especially for dogs who may struggle with new surroundings.

✨ Maintains Their Routine: We stick to your dog’s regular schedule, whether it’s mealtime, walks, or playtime. Keeping their routine intact helps them feel at ease and ensures they’re happy while you’re away.

✨ Personalized Attention: In-home boarding provides a more one-on-one experience. Your dog receives the care and love they’re used to without the distractions of a busy kennel environment.

✨ Perfect for Dogs Who Love Their Space: For pups who prefer their own territory or aren’t comfortable in group settings, in-home boarding offers the perfect solution.

Hayley is already booking up quickly into the spring, so if you’re looking for personalized, in-home boarding, don’t wait—send us a message today to reserve your spot!

Welcome, Hayley! We’re so excited for this new chapter together. 🐶✨

Today’s pack walk was extra special as we welcomed the sisters, Rue and Gigi! 🐾 I first met these sweet girls a few years ago at my old daycare job, and reuniting with them brought back so many happy memories. They fit right in with the pack and added so much joy to our walk today. The group had a blast exploring the trails, soaking up the fresh air, and enjoying each other's company. We’re so thrilled to have Rue and Gigi join the crew!! 🩵🐾

We’re wishing all our two-legged and four-legged friends a safe and happy New Year! Thank you for an amazing year—we’re so grateful for your support and excited for what’s ahead in 2025.

🎉🐾 Happy New Year’s Eve, Dog Lovers! 🐾🎉

The start of a new year is exciting for us humans, but those loud fireworks can be a bit scary for our furry friends. Here are some tips to keep your pups calm and safe tonight:

🌟 Pre-Firework Potty Breaks
Take your dog out for a walk or potty break before the fireworks start. Keep them on a leash—even the most chill pups can spook and bolt when loud noises happen unexpectedly.

🎶 Soothing Sounds
Turn on some calming music or white noise to help mask the sound of the fireworks. A cozy, familiar vibe works wonders!

🐕‍🦺 Safe Spaces
Create a little “zen zone” for your pup. Think soft bedding, their favorite toys, and maybe even a frozen treat to keep them occupied.

🎾 Tire Them Out
Get in a good walk or play session during the day so they’re more relaxed at night. A tired dog is a calm dog!

👀 Keep an Eye on Them
Make sure your dog’s ID tags and microchip info are up to date, just in case. Better safe than sorry!

💊 Calm Supplements
If your dog gets extra nervous, chat with your vet about calming aids like treats or sprays.

💜 Be Their Comfort
Stay close to your pup. A little extra love and reassurance goes a long way in helping them feel secure. My home is open to any pups whose parents may be going out to watch the fire works! If you don’t want to leave them alone during the fire works bring them by to me for lovings❤️❤️

Let’s ring in 2025 safely and stress-free for all the pups out there! 🎆🐶 Have a pawsome New Year, everyone! 🎊✨

Feel free to share your pup’s cozy setups in the comments—we’d love to see how your fur family celebrates! 🐕❤️

As we approach the end of the year, we can’t help but reflect on the incredible journey we’ve had since starting this adventure in March. What began as a dream has quickly grown into something beyond what we could have ever imagined, and it’s all thanks to you—our amazing clients. ✨

We are filled with gratitude for the trust you’ve placed in us to care for your beloved fur babies. Every wagging tail, wet nose, and joyful bark has reminded us why we love what we do. You’ve welcomed us into your lives, and in turn, we’ve welcomed your dogs into our hearts as if they were our own.

Along the way, we’ve found incredible partnerships that have strengthened our mission and fueled our passion. From the countless adventures on pack walks to quiet moments of snuggles and care, it’s been a year filled with connection, growth, and purpose.

This year has been more than just a business journey—it’s been a journey of love, learning, and community. To our clients, thank you for every moment of trust, every kind word of encouragement, and for allowing us to be a part of your dog’s lives. To our furry friends, thank you for the endless tail wags, the slobbery kisses, and the joy you bring to every single day.

Here’s to the adventures we’ve shared and to many more in the year to come. We’re so excited for what the future holds and can’t wait to continue this incredible journey with all of you by our side. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for an unforgettable year.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years! 🎄🥳

23/12/2024

As the colder season approaches, this chart is an invaluable resource to understand how cold weather can affect dogs differently based on their size, breed, and coat type. Cold temperatures can be hazardous, with risks like frostbite and hypothermia, especially for small dogs, short-haired breeds, flat faced, or those not accustomed to freezing conditions. These dangers increase as temperatures drop, making it essential to know your dog’s limits and take proactive measures to protect them.

This chart offers clear guidance for assessing outdoor safety. For instance, larger dogs or northern breeds with thick coats may tolerate colder conditions, but even they have their limits. Smaller dogs and those with shorter coats are at a much higher risk and may need extra care even in milder cold.

To protect your dog during colder months, ensure they’re dressed appropriately. Small or short-haired breeds benefit from insulated jackets or sweaters, and booties can protect paws from frostbite, ice, and chemical de-icers. Shorten outdoor time as temperatures drop and always provide a warm, dry space indoors. Watch for signs of cold stress, such as shivering, reluctance to walk, lifting paws, or excessive licking of paws after exposure to ice and snow.

Additional proactive steps include wiping their paws after walks to remove ice and salt, using pet safe salt, and avoiding extended outdoor activities in extreme conditions. By following these guidelines and using this chart as a reference, you can keep your furry friends safe and comfortable all winter long.
