We need help getting a disabled combat veteran and his Service-Dog-in-Training that he adopted from us a while ago, into a safe housing situation after losing his place to stay unexpectedly. We are going to try to explain as much as we can or know to relay the urgency of the situation, while not infringing on personal privacy.
Our beloved Dutch Shepherd mix boy, Bilbo, was adopted by an awesome veteran in Colorado who is a close friend to one of our good friends. When Matt and Bilbo first met, it was love at first sight! Bilbo has waited patiently for a home of his own for the last couple years while watching all his siblings find their amazing homes, and we’d long felt he might do good in sports, working jobs, or *possibly* even service dog work. Since adopting Bilbo, his dad has shared with us how Bilbo was doing good noticing and helping him with some of his disability struggles.
Unfortunately, he had a falling out with his roommate and lost his place to stay. He has been able to sleep and be at another combat veteran friend’s house while the friend is home but the friend is uncomfortable with anyone being in his house if he’s not home, so Bilbo and Matt are spending a lot of time walking around and adventuring while his friend is at work… however, from what we’ve been told, being outside so much and in the heat has caused a couple seizures (one of his medical concerns) – which, Bilbo has helped him through.
Matt has family in Washington who is happy to have him and Bilbo come stay with them permanently on Wednesday when they get back from a trip, and already bought the pair a motel room for a few days when the falling out with the roommate first occurred. However, they are also on disability and neither they nor Matt has the financial means until much later this month to buy tickets and such.
We want to help get our boy Bilbo and Matt to safety as soon as possible - we would like to help get them a bus ticket and a motel room to stay in until they hopefully make their way to their new home on Wednesday.
We will be contributing what little bit we can, but also have to get one of our personal dogs into the vet tomorrow, a 13-year-old who has had irritation in one eye the last few days, as well as another vet appointment for one of our rescue dogs, so funds are quite short currently.

Please consider donating a little bit towards getting Matt and Bilbo into a more stable situation.
The bus ticket looks to be about $150, and we will find out what the nightly rental rates near them are, but figure probably about $90/night for the next few days?

Donations can be made:

-Paypal: [email protected]
-Venmo: -DogRescue
We are happy to share receipts with all donors.

Thank you SO SO SO much for any help getting our beloved Bilbo and his dad, who served our country, back with family who loves them!

So, our big news!

A few weeks ago, we took this beautiful girl in from a bad situation with the help of an amazing foster 💜 not long after, she showed clear signs of being pregnant, since her prior owner had multiple intact dogs together.

So we started getting ready! Next thing we knew, her foster called us to tell us she had started nesting - and a couple hours later, to tell us she was in active labor!
We rushed out of work and headed over to help!

Unfortunately, the first pup was stillborn and no amount of Momma or human help made a difference 😔
However, a couple hours later, she delivered her next and final puppy, who the foster decided to name Jack (Skellington) 🎃🖤🎃🖤🎃

Momma and puppy are doing great, and per our foster, Momma is a wonderful, attentive, and protective momma 💜

Stay tuned for updates!

Today we went into the vet with Orion, our nearly 9 year old Dogo Argentino 💜

He has a large mass on his tail that's grown exponentially, so he got blood work done in preparation of surgery to remove and test it, as well as to check his overall health and get a new prescription of Rimadyl for his arthritis, as his prescription was running low. We also discussed oral surgery for a spot where his hair tends to get stuck when he licks himself (which he has been supervised for, and had Bitter Apple spray applied regularly to keep him from licking), and it causes irritation between his front teeth at times if not prevented.

After a long day of being the best boy at the vet, he is relaxing and sleeping 💜
Because he was socialized daily in public from 3 months old on into adulthood, he LOVES his vet visits and gives kisses and received so much praise for his good nature. 💜 This is the same dog, that based on his breed history and purpose, will absolutely stop an intruder coming into his home and will protect his family without hesitation (so, we have an introduction protocol with all new visitors and him, which gives him a routine to understand and accept them as welcome guests). We bring this up, because especially with Mastiff or guardian breeds, public socialization from day one is incredibly important!!

We will update on his blood work results when we receive them on Wednesday 💜

Good afternoon, Wolfpack!

We've been quite busy, with some updates and surprises to come soon!

In the meantime, we are in MAJOR need of a new dog scale, as our previous one is having power and accuracy issues (and was originally a little small for the general size of dogs we have to weigh, resulting in us having to train dogs to stand still on a smaller platform prior to trying to weigh them!)

This looks like a good option based on size and the reviews we read...
Would any of our amazing supporters be willing to donate towards the purchase of this scale? https://amzn.to/4dT5iac
We have a dog with a tumor on his tail who we anticipate most of our available funds going towards removal, biopsy, and possibly (but hopefully not) treatment for, if cancer comes back as a result.

Donations can be made through:

PayPal: [email protected]
Venmo: -DogRescue

All donors will receive an early update on our big surprise!

Donors of $25 or more will receive a free doggy goody - your choice of a toy, a Halloween outfit, a harness, or doggy bandanas/t-shirts etc. Please send us a message if you're interested in this, and let us know what you're interested in! We are creating a Fundraising Shop and album to help make our available fundraising items available for easier viewing and selection!

As always, thank you incredibly much for any help!

Sweet Marzipan is still looking for her forever! She is about 2 years old, fully vetted, and is good with children and other dogs.

This gentle, soulful girl can be shy in the beginning. She is more confident initially with women and children but works hard to warm up to men – especially with the help of high-value “meaty treats” (she’s had 3 male caretakers to date, who she loves deeply).

She deeply craves love, praise, and reassurance, and looks to her owners/caretakers for direction. This makes her very easy and willing to train. She walks well on-leash, and has gone to numerous social outings with one foster, and enjoys walks through the park with her current foster.

She also greatly enjoyed going to the San Juan Creek Trail with a family interested in adopting her, and LOVED the water, and did amazing when horses walked by – it was praised how “she was alert but didn’t bark or lunge”. One of her prior fosters had taken her to several agility classes with their other dog by a place that had horses that they would visit with, as well as a petting zoo or two, and heavily praised Marzipan for her good manners and nonchalance towards all the different large animals – however, she did try to run with a pair of miniature donkeys once while off-leash.
The home she came from originally as a puppy did have horses and goats that she and her mother did well with. We feel, with all factors considered, that she would probably do well with larger animals, especially with supervision and guidance of expected behaviors shown for the first week or two that she is in a new home.

It was also commented about how well-behaved she was for car rides and having a harness clipped into a seatbelt (and that can be a pretty big deal!) She has also done car rides with her prior foster and done well, as well as being well-behaved when crated in the car as well.

Despite her love of adventuring with her companions, she is also very happy to melt into her caretakers’ and families’ laps for snuggles.

In all of her foster homes, she has been around children aged 2 to 5 and has even responded to training given to her by some of the youngest family members!

She has met and played with probably up to 20 dogs, ranging in different ages and personalities and did well. 😊 She is more than happy to be a rambunctious player if another dog is willing, and loves good games of chase, as well as “doggy bowling”. The family who had tried to adopt her commented on how she was good at reading the social cues of other dogs and giving them or herself space if needed. She did a couple meet and greets with another foster who had cats, and was polite with the cats and respectful of the boundaries they established, so with proper introduction and guidance on expected boundaries and behavior, she may do well in a home with cats, although she may do better in a home without other free-ranging small animal types such as rabbits specifically, as detailed further below.

Marzipan is crate, potty, and house-trained, and has experience in both homes with dog doors and homes that have potty rotation schedules.

Unfortunately, while Marzipan did well on so many points with her adoption trial, there were two large areas she struggled in that led to deciding not to complete her adoption.

One, was as her trial adopters sent in her notes they wrote for us on their trial review: “PEOPLE: Women👍🏽Men👎🏽Marzi is shy and slow to warm up. She is more trusting of women than men. She became very sweet with myself and my girls within 24 hours. She was hesitant [with] the me[n] In our house. As she became more comfortable in the house, she began to growl at the men. Eventually, she started barking at the men. I believe we could have worked with her by having the guys give high value treats and spend more time with her, but we were really want a pup that is good with new people in the house.”

The second, and major reason our rescue and her adoption applicants decided to terminate the adoption trial was, “SMALL ANIMALS:👎🏽In new surroundings, Marzi is very nervous and distracted by all the new smells. We have bunnies. One was in a closed hutch. Marzi sniffed her and then moved on. She saw the other hopping around outside and didn’t seem interested. Two days later, she started growling and barking at them. She became hyper focused on them and we became concerned for their safety.” As such, we do advise that while she will do great in a home with children and other dogs, and will most likely do very well in a home with cats or larger livestock with proper introduction and guidance for the first few weeks, she may not be the best candidate for homes with homes with small fuzzy pets like rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs, etc, especially if they are accessible or free-roaming.”

Her adoption fee is $175, and helps cover some of the costs of her spay, rabies, vaccines, microchipping and additional vet work.
Please message if you’re interested in adopting, fostering-to-adopt, or fostering miss Marzipan! We are happy to do as many meet and greets and introductions as needed with potential new families (including men and any non-dog pets to ensure comfortable and positive coexistence and homecoming!)

Sweet DAISY is still looking for her forever home, or an amazing foster!
Daisy is: ✨Dog friendly! ✨Small child friendly! ✨Cat friendly!

Daisy is a very sweet, eager to learn, loving 1 year old Shepherd/Husky girl. She can be a little shy of new people in the beginning (she just moves away to a comfortable distance), but is the most affectionate and sweet girl as/once she gets to know you. She loves other dogs, and has probably been around and had playdates with about 8 other dogs to date.

She is house, potty, and crate-trained, and has done well both in homes with dog doors and homes without and a potty schedule.

She has been around a handful of children of various ages and has done well - again, she can be shy and keep her distance in the beginning, but loved running and playing with kiddos she met once she got to know them.

She was fostered with a short-term foster for a few weeks with a cat who spent a lot of time with their existing dogs, and quickly learned to co-exist peacefully with the kitty.

Daisy is fully vetted, including being spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed/f***l tested.

Urgent!
Two young Bull Terriers need a home, rescue, or foster ASAP!

Located in Hemet - they were dumped with a gentleman by a family member, who has a very young child and another child on the way .. Rick, who has been caring for them but cannot continue to do so, was in TEARS as he spoke to us - he wants the best for the two, but fears he may have to bring them to the shelter soon.

The dark/brindle pup is a boy named DEO, who has a little injury on his foot that he is licking - we recommended starting with a chew/lick deterrent to keep him from annoying it too much.
MOLLY is the white little girl.
They are about TWO YEARS OLD, and are microchipped with vaccines, per their guardian.

Please message us for direct contact to their current guardian, who needs help with placement urgently!!

**FOSTERS NEEDED!* We are a non-profit family owned and operated 501(c)3 large breed dog rescue and wolfdog sanctuary. We are located in Sage, just outside Temecula Wine Country in Southern Riverside, California.

We are currently at capacity and unable to take in any new dogs, but we are always more than happy to network dogs in need publicly on our page, and our founder, Mariah-Rose von Weigert, is also a professional trainer who offers low-cost training options to dogs in need, including those with aggression issues. We are also looking for FOSTERS for our rescue dogs, which will allow us a wider reach to help save lives.
