A GREAT COLLABORATION WAS DONE TODAY BETWEEN OLD FELLA RESCUE, PROJECT FREEDOM RIDE, THE BURKE COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER AND THE BURKE COUNTY ANIMAL HOSPITAL.
WORKING TOGETHER WE WERE ABLE TO SEND 27 ANIMALS TO OHIO AND INDIANA WHERE
FOREVER FAMILIES FULL OF LOVE ARE ANXIOUS TO ADOPT THEM
IT HAS BEEN A GOOD DAY💕💕💕🥰🥰🥰

As the weather begins to get nicer and you take your kiddos to a local pond or lake to feed the ducks and geese, please keep this bit of info in mind.

Another FYI
Feeding bread causes permanent damage to ducks and geese. They develop angel wing. They can not migrate or fly to avoid predators. PLEASE DO NOT FEED BREAD to ducks and geese. Cracked corn, corn, peas, mealworms, romaine lettuce, watermelon, grapes CUT into pieces, cantaloupe……are a few good options!

While we are thrilled donations of food, treats, puppy pads, toys, shampoo, beds and blankets, monetary donations go directly to the Burke County General Fund and may not specifically help the shelter.

If you would like to make a monetary donation, PLEASE give to Old Fella Burke County Animal Rescue!! They are the only rescue here in Burke County and they are staffed by a group of THREE volunteers. That's it ... three! And yet, they managed to rescue over 200 animals from the shelter last year.

THIS BEAUTIFUL DOG GEORGIA WAS ON THE KILL LIST AT THE POUND. TODAY WOULD HAVE BEEN HER LAST DAY OF LIFE. OLD FELLA RESCUE GOT HER OUT. WE HAVE 5 ANIMALS THAT WE ARE BOARDING INCLUDING GEORGIA IN ORDER TO SAVE THEM. WE GET NO COUNTY OR STATE FUNDING.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONATE…🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️

🆘🆘501c3 RESCUE PARTNER NEEDED 🆘🆘

The shelter is no place for a special needs mama to try to raise her puppies. We're looking for a licensed rescue who can take Snowy and her Snowflakes into their care for foster and placement. She's timid, compounded by her deafness, but not mean. She'll do anything for a snack! Please reach out to us here at the shelter!

This little deaf mama and her 8 puppies were brought into the shelter yesterday as strays from Gordon Rd in Sardis. If they belong to you, proof of ownership and payment of impound fees are required for reclaim. Mama is ill and receiving medical care here at the shelter.
