QUICK BUILDING TIP. To help create more depth and the impression of elevation. Adding in a mini false bottom on top of your false bottom can do the trick and save substrate. I like to put a piece of wood in front (with the soil in it will not have this gradual drop off like in the video). The light diffuser will have a piece of window screen on top of it. Next step- side wall
To those who’ve been following this build here is a 6 month update
-The unicata up right eventually started to brown, with just the far corner staying blue (I tried to give it a shady corner up high to see if I could avoid growing it in shaded spots on the floor, but it seems to only do well in damp substrate with medium to low light)
- needed to add another fan on the left yesterday as my P. Grobyi started to get a little yellow. Also as holding so much water in the false bottom and it being exposed, humidity seems to never drop under 95 even with consistent fans blowing (each side of viv has consistent condensation
- the details in the rocks are almost completely unnoticeable now, which was expected. You almost can’t even notice the water feature.
I will post the build progression photos in the comments
