This memory popped up from three years ago while filming desert stuff in Arizona. Words cannot express how much I miss him. We had a very special bond - we were truly best friends.

I know he lived an amazing life, and I find comfort in that, but a piece of me went with him and I will never be the same.

Our life together, just hanging out and doing cool stuff, was nearly perfect.

15 years wasn't long enough, my sweet boy...

I have created a new page for Lucky M**o's Freedom Rides.

We are working with rescue organizations to transport dogs out of Texas shelters and off of the streets to safe places across the country. We also hope to raise awareness to get laws changed, funding appropriated for more shelter space, and reach the end goal of Texas becoming a no-kill state when it comes to our "unwanted" pets. There's no such thing as an unwanted pet.

I say "we" because Lucky M**o still lives with me in spirit, and he always will. Every dog in need is Lucky M**o to me, now.

I invite everyone that is a dog lover, an animal lover, or unhappy with the unbelievable reality the Texas is among the leading states for pet euthanization in America. We're going to build a network that works together for the common goal of ending this unforgivable travesty against our innocent pets and furry family members.

Saving dogs in honor of the amazing Lucky M**o!

Hey everyone, meet 4-year-old spayed female, Panda, and 5-year-old male, Kobe. I just picked them up today from Dallas Animal Services and will be fostering them until we can find them a forever home. They were both on the last call list to be euthanized, and I just couldn't let it happen.

I would appreciate everyone's help in spreading the word on these two awesome dogs to help me find them a forever home. It's heartbreaking how many dogs are being put to sleep because there's not enough time to find them a loving family.

I want other people and dogs to experience the kind of love that Lucky M**o and I had being best friends. ❤️

I can deliver these four-legged best friends anywhere there is a loving home waiting for them.

I found this good boy standing alone in the middle of the road next to a pull-off beach area where people go to drink at night, over 25 miles north of La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico. This good boy was obviously dumped, and was just waiting around the campsite for his owner to return, but they never were.

I fed him, gave him some water, pet him and loved on him, and hung out with him for close to an hour. He was nothing but sweet. I could tell that he was sad. I can't imagine the kind of coldness in a heart that it takes to dump and abandon a dog that just wants to love you. It made me cry.

My own heart is hurting right now after losing Lucky M**o, and I could not leave this dog alone on this desolate, rocky beach waiting for someone that's never coming back to get him. So, I rearranged everything in the truck and made room for him, and started to drive back to La Paz. I realized that there was a small chance that he had just wandered away from his home that was close by, so I turned around and went to the different places around to see if anybody knew him. Nobody did. I found some fishermen that already had three very sweet dogs at their home and asked if they would take him. As soon as they saw his temperament, they said yes. Within minutes, he was running around and peeing on everything, wagging his tail, and happy.

This good boy will not end up alone. ❤️

I will always help every dog that I can. Now, I do it in honor of the best dog and friend that I've ever had - Lucky M**o.

RIP Lucky M**o

It is with the heaviest heart that I've ever had that I post this. Lucky M**o passed away last night at home in my arms. He lived over 15 and a half years, and was the most awesomest best buddy that I've ever known.

Hims was my partner, my travel companion, my absolute best friend in this world, and the closest thing to a child that I've ever had. We were soul mates and destiny brought us together to live a true dream life together.

Our lives were lived as one. We were partners. I can count on one hand the times we weren't together, and I adjusted my life to make sure that he was always with me.

There was a part of me that thought he would live forever, and my heart is completely shattered. The void his absense leaves will never be filled. We made awesome memories together all over North America, though, and I will cherish those memories for the rest of my life.

Thank you for being the most amazing best friend that anyone could ever dream of having. Thank you for your loyalty and unconditional love. Thank you for making me the luckiest m**o alive. I will miss you forever, buddy. I love you so much, Lucky M**o.

Lucky M**o gets to go at hims own pace these days. Hims gets to do whatever he wants. Hims never gets in trouble for anything anymore. Hims is perfects.

Lucky M**o loves hims some winter! We've missed the last two winters up north, but this year we got winter all the way down in Texas. It has been a nice reminder of how beautiful winter can be, so we may have to shoot up north soon for a bit of a real winter.

Lucky M**o and I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

We finally got some rain and were able to finish our Texas snowman.

Is the hat too much? I thought it was, but M**o insisted.

The only gift I asked Santa for Christmas is another year with my boy. We have many adventures left to go on together.

Handsomes Lucky M**o has another opthamologist appointment today because his eyelid didn't heal back correctly after his surgery and his eyelashes are rubbing into his eyeball. Poor dude.

Let's hope we get him fixed up today!

I am thankful for a lot. This little dude is at the top, though. He's always by my side. I think he's probably thankful for me, too, in his own crazy m**o dog way. He's less than a month away (not sure, exactly) from being 15 and a half, and I'm thankful for all that time being best buddies, and I will be thankful for however many more days, or possibly (hopefully) even more years, we get to keep hanging out.

HUGE NEWS!!!

Taylor Sheridan has personally requested Lucky M**o for the lead herding dog role for the upcoming Paramount+ series "6666" featuring Yellowstone's "Jimmy" at the 6666 Ranch in Texas!

If you enjoyed Yellowstone with Kevin Costner, 1883 with Tim McGraw, or 1923 with Harrison Ford, then you will LOVE 6666 with Lucky M**o!

Rumor has it that Taylor Sheridan has started to rewrite the script around Lucky M**o's role because of his incredible acting ability and old puppy cuteness. It's hard to believe!

Rumor also has it that this is just a rumor... that we started.

Lucky M**o is heading back to the ophthalmologist today to check up on his eye. It seems like everything looks good, so hopefully it will be a good follow-up visit.

My little buddy has pretty bad arthritis, and he woke up today all hunched over and limping, so hims not feeling good. It usually goes away after a day or two.

Lucky M**o has been full of energy today, and his eye looks so much better!

He has run into just about everything in the house while walking around with the cone on. He has done it over, and over, and over again. I can't help but shamefully laugh, but I also feel a little bad for him. He just can't seem to figure it out.

I am also including a picture from about six or seven years ago when we were driving around in Montana. His adorable little face is one of my most cherished loves in this world.

I love this crazy little m**o so much.

He will have to wear a cone for two weeks. 😞

Update for Lucky M**o...

He has a small tear in his outer layer of his right eyeball. His third eyelid was completely closing, and his bottom eyelid was swelling up to try and cover his eye, both as a natural protective reaction.

The tear in his eyeball came from part of his eyelid healing in the wrong direction after his surgery and the hair follicles (and hair) pointing back into his eye. The hair has been constantly rubbing against his eye.

He will need to see a veterinary ophthalmologist (animal eye doctor), who will most likely use a very small needle to go in and electrocute the hair follicles so they die, ending any hair growth back into his eye.

Huge thank you to the amazing folks at Corrales Veterinary Clinic for getting him in today and letting us know what was wrong! We got a couple of prescriptions and some eye wash to keep his eye clean, medicated, and lubricated until he can get in for the corrective surgery.

This 15 year old m**o has been through a lot in his adventurous life - canine bloat, being drug under a trailer and all scratched up, being victim to a couple of dog attacks, getting cut up really bad at an old and abandoned farm, and just the effects of old age. For a minute, I thought he was going to spend the remainder of his life as a one-eyed pirate m**o...

I'm thinking now that we're going to be able to get him fixed up like the lucky m**o that he is.

We need some puppy prayers for Lucky M**o.

His eye did not look good today when we woke up, so I called around to some local vets and found one that can see him at 3:00 p.m.

The scar from his eye surgery a month ago did not heal properly, and there is a small piece of his eyelid with a few hairs that is sticking into his eyeball and rubbing on it. His eye looked very grayish and glazed over today, so I decided that it's not worth waiting until Monday to get back to his normal vet in Texas that did the original surgery.

He hasn't really been able to open his eye for the past few days now, and it seems to be getting worse, to the point that he's just leaving his eye closed. It's been hard to watch my little man suffer. He doesn't understand what's happening.

He can't become a one-eyed m**o at 15 years old. That'd be too big a change for him.

Hopefully we get him all fixed up today. ❤

Lucky M**o just went for a big walk in a big park in a small town in Kansas today. We love small towns! Hims has been so good co-piloting while we have been filming severe weather, and now hims is a happy and worn out old puppy!
