Izzy was a princess, as usual, for her farrier appointment today! She still has a long ways to go, but yall - I have NEVER felt so optimistic about her hooves as I do right now!

We spent 2 hours working on her. Making small adjustments. Taking the time to evaluate and think outside the box. Talking out a game plan.

And yall - it's ok to get a second opinion on things. It's ok to accept that what you're doing isn't working. And when you do, and your farrier comes up with something that hasn't been tried in 2 years, you nearly jump for joy! They're out there...the ones who care for these animals just as much as we do. The ones who see it as more than just a job. The ones who won't sleep until they get it right. And if yours isn't one of those, go ahead and find you a new one!! I'll be glad to give you a recommendation 😁😁

Yall know I like to give credit where credit is due. 2 weeks ago, we had a new farrier out to trim Harley and Everstone. That evening, when I picked Goose up, I immediately contacted Camron to schedule his trim. There was no question it was urgently needed. He quickly got Goose on his schedule, and came out the next week, spending nearly an hour on the big boy.

I say that to say this. In the year that we've had Harley, he has NEVER been able to walk or trot without tripping. One of his hooves grows wonky and makes trimming him tricky. Goose went from nearly being lame to only walking with a slight limp on his worst hoof (he has a long road to get back where he needs to be). Because of the workmanship that I've seen in these 3 horses, we're entrusting Camron to come back out and tackle Izzy, the white miniature horse with the corkscrew hooves. Since we lost our last farrier, we've been trying to keep the length trimmed down the best we could until we found someone else. I can't wait to see the improvements he's able to make with her!

Goose spent his Valentine's Day feeling good and getting pampered 😁 He's feeling so much better already, but still has a ways to go to get him back to where he should be. We are so happy to have this hunk back on the farm to love all over ❤️

And yall...get you a farrier like CF FARRIER SERVICE !! One that shows up when he was just out a week before, that never gets angry when the horse doesn't fully cooperate, and is willing to deal with your level of crazy 😜 So very thankful for you, C!!
