We are so proud of his accomplishments. Putting this together and making this happen was alot of hard work on all of us from attending showmanship clinics, speaking with breeders, reading and researching feeding advice it all came together for him.

It's cold and snowing here in Southwest Louisiana something we are definitely not used to happening. We are working on the schedule and Kyle will be out shoeing once the roads are safe to travel on.

Clear blue skies and warmer weather are exactly what the horses in our area need after the nasty wet weather last week and what's coming in a few days. Remember keep cleaning and treating those hooves.

What is it like at your house now with all the rain and cold? I'll be honest, ours is a muddy nasty mess and with the weather it is unavoidable. As a horse owner myself along being a farrier the mud is bringing concerns from thrush, sores on legs, thrown shoes and even the dreaded abcesses for not only my own horses but my clients. What can you do when it just won't stop raining or warm up enough to dry the ground? Check on your horse's. Groom them. Check their hooves. Clean and treat the hooves. Contact your farrier immediately if you see an issue so that together you can have a game plan on treatment.

So in the past I've posted about our son, Kolt and his accomplishments as a livestock Showman. Well show season is here and Kolt has worked extremely hard this year. At 11 years old he has 2 market hogs and a market steer, all of which he will sell on Jan 24,2025. Our Jr Livestock Association allows something called add on money for individuals or business to donate to Kolt and his Livestock.
