I urge you to support the abolition of ear and tail cropping for solely aesthetic purposes related to breed standards, as it is an unethical and unnecessary practice. I have signed this petition and encourage you to do the same! 🙏🏽
You can give countless animals like Mercy who have been harmed by ear cropping find the healing and happiness they deserve. (102664 signatures on petition)

This article was very enlightening and I for one am SO GLAD scientists are producing more studies like this!
Take home points;
All these dogs are much loved family pets living at home with their owners, yet the data suggests that the R– (Negative Reinforcement) group of dogs have formed an aversive association with the presence of their owners at some level, as shown in the ‘walking on lead’ test.
For the ‘sit’ command the data suggests that the R– group have also developed an aversive association with the ‘sit’ command itself, it has become a secondary R–, as shown by the additional stress-related behaviours exhibited by these dogs.
As every good dog trainer knows, good eye contact and attention to the trainer is the cornerstone of effective training and is also a good indicator of the dog’s relationship with, and trust of the trainer/owner; there are many studies that confirm this.
‘Protect’, ‘Teach’, ‘Love’. Words that encapsulate what we all want for our dogs. Yet, these words are used by one of the largest manufacturers of electronic training devices. We can only guess that their use has been carefully chosen in order to tap into a most primal fear – losing our dog. The implication here is that the use of such devices facilitate the duty of all responsible and loving dog owners, and failing in this duty is an act of neglect. What is not mentioned anywhere in e-collar manufacturers literature is that fear conditioning is not like any other kind of learning, it uses different neural pathways and invokes different memory systems that often have life-long, negative effects on a dog’s wellbeing. The evidence for this is unequivocally overwhelming.
Please take a minute to read and share to spread the positivity!

Xylitol is a deadly ingredient common in sugar-free products such as peanut butter. Please please please don't give them anything with this ingredient and now they're calling it a different name which is confusing so please be aware!
Beware Xylitol is toxic and too often deadly once dogs ingest, and it's now sometimes labeled as Birch Sugar

Happy Adopt a Shelter Pet day! Meet our newest shelter doggo in training, Juniper ❣️
We've been working on her "Leave It" since she's a hardcore scavenger and she's already made so much progress!
Her favorite activity is-surprise surprise, her treat filled snuffle mat post walkies! Great outlet for her to get out her urge to scavenge in a healthy and safe environment ☺️
Does your doggo also try to eat unsafe things they find outside? Try this!

Say hello to our newest doggo, Nero! He LOVES 💗 his puzzle 🧩 activity toy for mental stimulation post walkies, especially with this wet cold snowy 🌨️ weather making him not want to be outside, SAME Nero! It's also great to encourage their natural instincts of foraging for food. This kind of mental stimulation can also help satiate a high scavenger drive if your pup eat things they're not supposed to while outside! 😊

With every Tail there is an Origin...
Hi, my name is Theodora, owner and founder of Theo's Doggos. I began this career path with a strong passion for animals and providing them with the love and care they deserve. Born and raised Chicagoan, I've lived my whole life in the Irving Park Neighborhood and have owned and cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, various small rodents, birds, and fish. With many pet sitting gigs-that also added to my experience and knowledge of various animals, you can rest assured I'm very comfortable with all animals and that your pet will be in good, knowledgeable, loving hands. Team mates also learn from the best!
When I was young, I didn't watch the shows or read the books my friends did, instead I watched Animal Planet, read about various animals and how to care for them, watched pet training shows and educational programs, read the dog breed bible, and learned as much as I could about animals, specifically dogs since that was the pet I wanted the most. Finally when I was eight years old I got my first dog, a mini-dachshund named Brownie. After we had Brownie for 3 years we decided to get a puppy, another dachshund named Copper. Both dogs brought my family and home lot of love and joy. I trained them both and was the main caregiver for over ten years along with the help my of little sister. For some time I lived with roommates and cared for three cats, at once and they also brought plenty of joy and energy to my life! I have also taken care of many rabbits because my first bunny-her name was Banni, had babies I helped mommy raise them myself and found great forever homes for them all. I helped train every animal I lived with including litter box training my bunnies-yes they can be trained just like cats! All non-professional experiences aside, I've also taken online classes for various pet certification courses including pet nutrition, psychology, training, sitting., first aid, and animal CPR.
Rest assured your pets will always be as happy as they will be safe and sound!
Photography/videography started out as a hobby, but through years of hard work and dedication I've managed to turn it into a career. I’ve loved photographing animals ever since I can remember and I adore the feeling of capturing a moment in time, especially one that I know will be treasured forever. I see pet photography as a fun adventure and stimulating challenge since the subject is not easy to pose or stays still. Over time, pets usually end up loving the camera and they become models after realizing "photo-time" means treats and praise! Great if your pet has a fear of cameras being pointed at them so you can also take great pics of them more easily!
I hope my photos bring smiles to everyone who sees them!
My love for all animals will never fade for they have brought so much happiness to my life. I hope through sharing my story you can see my passion and love for animals is undeniable and feel at ease knowing your loved ones will be loved and cared for like a family member!
