Green City Farms Green City Farms is a start-up vertical hydroponic (and conventional) farm.

At Green City Farms, we will serve as a year-round source of locally-grown agricultural products and will also serve the needs of the community by increasing access to fresher, more nutritious food supplies. In the near future I hope to make it possible to provide educational opportunities for students and youth groups, to serve as a teaching facility for hands-on training programs that emphasize

environmental stewardship and additional educational opportunities to interested adults involving them in various activities that teaches self-sufficiency.

My Story

After my time in the Marine Corps and moved back to Washington, I was ready to follow my dream that I had in high school. I tried my luck at IT where I believed I belonged since the early 90s, but it wasn’t meant to be. Almost 10 years ago I was tired of feeling “lost” in this world not knowing where I really belonged. I began to have this awakening in my mind & heart about farming. My love for the outdoors & gardening had led up to this point in my life. Once I began self-teaching myself about farming is when I realized that I needed change in my life, mentally & environmentally. I found California, where I had been stationed at & had friends there. In 2011 I packed what I could in my little car & moved from Seattle to SoCal. The journey has not been easy, in fact it’s been harder. In 2018 is when everything turned around for the better for me, I moved to the Sacramento region.

Unofficially started this business in 2012, I can now be proud to be officially operating. Now operating northern California, I have started on an ultra-small scale of growing 3 varieties of rare hops for local brewers as well as Basil & peppers for my homemade Pesto spread.

My goal is to have at least 25 acres and invite the surrounding communities to learn about farming and homesteading. While this dream seems very far off, I work every day knowing it’s a day closer to reaching that dream.

In the meantime, I’m just a small urban farmer that is CA Master Gardener, CA Master Composter, certified Hydroponicist (trained at Archi’s Acres) & member of Farmer Veteran Coalition. I’ve worked for both Fort Cross Old Timey Adventures learning hands-on agritourism & Archi’s Acres for hydroponics.
