There are several Facebook Groups with Giant Schnauzer puppies available and rehome.
Several of those groups steal other reputable breeders photos and share them as their own.
You should be able to quickly identify scams if not here’s what you can do:
1.) Reverse image search search on google this can be done from a computer or phone (it’s much harder to do on a phone but there are ways to do it)
You would save the image to your phone and paste it into the google search drive it will bring up where the image came from
2.) if the price seems too good to be true trust your gut! Most if not all reputable breeders have raised their prices over the last few years. Giants can cost anywhere from 2,500-3500 or more depending on on location, ear cropping etc.
3.)Ask the breeder to send you a photo of the pup with a paper with the current date on it, most scammers will not be able to provide this photo since the pups they post are not theirs or real
4.) Ask for references! Scammers get creative and will have multiple people post about how happy they are with their pups, this gives false hope to those wanting a puppy they will never receive. Post in different Giant schnauzer groups to see if any one has had a dog from the person
5.) A lot of breeders use different online payment options however be sure to double check the name of the person you are sending money to is the same name of the person you contacted. Some scammers will say “oh this is my husband’s account or this is my friends account”.
6.) Most if not all breeders have a questionare that you fill out and the breeder may call to interview you. If the breeder is letting you you select your puppy that is a huge red Flag 🚩.
Below is an example of a scammer group.
