-Does not do full health testing
-sent puppy home with extensive scarring from misuse of a prong collar
-sent puppy home with fleas
-put in Contract owner could not disclose the poor condition of the dogs

-Tries to sell dogs in doodle groups clearly has no care in the world where her dogs end up

How do I (Buyer) verify that a breeder is health testing?

Easy! All you need from the breeder is the registered name of the sire and dam

1: Go to OFA.org

2: Go to the search bar and type the dog’s registered name and hit search

3: this should pull the dog up unless the dog is not health tested, in that case it is recommended to avoid that breeder.

Both the Sire and Dam should be health tested.

Any breeder who claims to have a closed case with OFA is lying 🤥, OFA is a PUBLIC database meaning anyone can veiw the health test result and guess what it is FREE to do!

* Some breeder choose not to list genetic
Health testing results on OFA - they should still be able to provide documentation that the dog has been tested*

The OFA website and databases provide the tools needed to promote the health and welfare of companion animals through a reduction in the incidence of genetic disease.

Lazy B Giants-

It appears that the Dam of this breeders kennel Opal has very minimal health testing

The sire only has embark testing.

If you are gonna try to be an ethical breeder do everything and don’t take short cuts

Both the sire and Dam should have the following testing done

Hips
Elbows
Thyroid (yearly)
Heart
Eye (yearly)
Genetic testing

It’s unfortunate people take shortcuts with breeding

Please do your research as well and make sure that you look up the health testing results of the sire and dam.

Warning to Everyone looking to buy a giant schnauzer puppy steer Clear of:

CV Kennel
AKA Lulu and Jake’s page
Breeder: Harold Young
Location: Ohio

This puppy shown below (safe with a rescue) has a grade 5 heart murmur and will require a very expensive surgery (10k+) to be able to survive.

Harold knowingly bred the bitch:

SKANSENS GOOD GOLLY MS MOLLY- with no health testing to a Gently Born male also no health testing.

He has again bred this bitch to his stud Jake recently and will be attempting to sell puppies again.

Jake is also very Human aggressive.

This is a BACKYARD BREEDER who does not care about the breed only about the profit.

Puppy Scammers are on the rise!

Here’s what to look for:

Price: to good to be true, most scams will have puppies priced significantly lower than reputable breeders do.

Giant Schnauzers for example: reputable breeders are charging anywhere from 3,000-4500+ (higher cost due to cost of raising a large breed litter, docking tails, shots etc)

Some of these scammers have giants listed as low as 500$

Shipping: some will offer to ship and have you pay a fake shipping company for a puppy you will not receive

If a puppy is shipping via an airline the breeder will set that up and coordinate all necessary information to puppy buyer

Beware that up to 80 percent of websites advertising dogs for sale online are actually nothing more than puppy scams. Here's how to spot them.

Temperaments in Giant schnauzers are super important, another follower sent us information on a breeder in OHIO whos dog was recently dismissed from an AKC show for attempting to bite at a judge:

Jake- has shown signs of aggression to the point of having to be muzzled at training classes.

Lulu- had three back to back litters with Jake before being spayed.

Brutus- this is a 6 month old puppy (not related to Jake or Lulu) who had attempted to bite at a judge on more than one occasion.

The breeder has admitted in a post that brutus “once again tried to bite the judge”

Giants should not be attempting to bite someone or something that is not a threat- this is a temperament issue.

Although this kennel does very minimal health testing, i would use caution in getting a puppy from here

He bought a Skansen Bitch
“SKANSENS GOOD GOLLY MS MOLLY” knowing she was not health tested and was bred prior to going to him so he could sell another litter
