Meet Teddy, Mr Bear, Tedward. Teddy is an Austin Animal Center foster dog seeking a new home. Teddy is looking for a new home by the end of April.
This page has been dedicated to helping my fosters find their furever homes. Teddy is a sweet, loving, spry senior dog currently in foster in Austin.

Mister Teddy Bear paid his respects early last night before I had the chance to hang the flag. He and I wish everyone a safe and happy July 4th. 🎆🇺🇸

Teddy and I are moving. We found a place out in the country of Ingram, where he will have a yard to sunbathe and a river close by. 2 mini horses and a big horse (this will be interesting). He does this thing in the video all the time! Before you ask, the lump on his side is a fat mass that has already been checked out by his previous foster’s vet. He has trimmed down with me bc of our walks and is very healthy. Ya wouldn’t know this silly boy is 10 years old and spent most of his life in a shelter. We love each other.💗🐾💗

I will always remember my friends and how they took time from their day to spend it with me and get me out of that kennel for a break that I thoroughly enjoyed and really needed!💗

I got a bath today. Yuck!! (This better not be a regular thing).🙈

Teddy here to say hello to all my friends out there..🐾🐾
So I'm making myself quite comfortable here with my forever Mom. She tells me I worry too much and that she will now worry for the both of us. I'm working on believing this but something about her tells me everything is going to be OK and that I can relax and just live in the present...no more worries about what my future holds.
P.S: I love her bed and pillows!😍

Y’all, I’m positively DELIGHTED to share that Teddy has just departed for his forever home! Teddy has been adopted by the wonderful Dena Dixon who championed him back in 2016 when he first entered the shelter system. What a beautiful reunion it has been! They set off today to begin their new life together and I couldn’t possibly be happier for them both. 💗💗💗
Dena will provide updates here on our gorgeous foxy boy. Squeeeee!

New experiences: Teddy’s confidence and trust when we’re having a new experience has built up. This is his face as he processes an automatic car wash contraption coming over us as we try to get some of this damn pollen dealt with. He had a quick token bark and then he relaxed and just took it all in. Good boy Teddy. 💗

Tedward has had a low energy day today battling the dreaded allergies that have us all sneezing and scratching (do ya feel it???). But he’s always got energy for some sun basking. What a babe.

It’s a great day to be enjoying some sunshine with the Teddy Bear! Teddy loves camper life. So many smells and so much cosy with his peeps!

Somebody got a fun new collar this weekend! What a handsome boy! Teddy has been working on his manners lately, some bones...plenty of bones.

This guy loves to bundle up when the temperatures drop. Teddy loves his fluffy blankies and getting all wrapped in them. Look at how content he looks today!

Teddy Bear is a spry senior who is part of the Classic Canines family. But this boy sure doesn't act like a senior! Here he is from his favorite spot in the trailer....keeping an eye on the land. Teds is a big fan of trailer living!

Teddy had a photoshoot last year with some of his favorite humans.

what a peach!
Teddy Bear, in the words of his good friend (and photographer!), Sarah.
Teddy. Teddy Bear. Tedward. This boy. When I first started volunteering at Austin Animal Center in 2016, Teddy was pretty much the shelter’s mascot. He was a long stay, staff and volunteer favorite with a few quirks . . . a beloved member of our shelter community. He was in and out of a few different homes - none of them quite the right fit. He became an expert in the art of shelter resilience. And then HIS turn finally came . . . he was adopted into a seemingly perfect home. And for over three years he had a home and a person that were all his. But, a year ago, just as the world was shutting down he was returned to the shelter for reasons having nothing to do with him. Fortunately with the plethora of fosters that came forward during the onset of the pandemic, Teddy’s shelter stay was short and he landed an amazing foster home - where he has now been for almost a year. I was grateful for the chance to catch-up with Teddy yesterday. Home life has always looked good on this boy - and these days it looks exceptional on him. Teddy is one of those dogs who has struggled in busy environments- the fast paced nature of the world has always been a bit too much for him. But, over the last year, he has developed some tools to manage those anxieties - and it shows. He may always need the support of his humans and some assistance managing the things that make him anxious . . . but boy is he trying - so hard!! Teddy is such a good dog . . . his fosters feel like he is now ready to transition to a forever home. And so here we are! World meet Teddy. Let’s get this guy home for good. Fortunately, as a well known shelter super star, Teddy comes with the support of many friends and advocates - both the and are huge fans of this boy! Teddy is currently being fostered for - but either or the would be happy to facilitate a meeting with Teddy’s people. This is one heck of a special pup - looking for one hell of a good home!! (in foster)
