This sweet girl stole a chicken wing from her dad, and ate it so fast, it came back up in one piece. 😳. There is nothing more satisfying than a successful emesis in the pet ER!

If dogs ingest cooked bones it can cause intestinal perforation, a blockage, or severe stomach upset. We are happy to report she did great, and has no regrets!

✨Vet Med✨ Photo Dump! Life’s been a mixture of extreme highs and lows both in and outside the hospital.

Highs:
- Successful FB surgery on the cutest 💪
- Team bonding at the community Holiday Event 🥳
- Saving pets in the ER 🏥
- Fun hair tie endoscope in a kitten 😺
- Seeing long term patients like Dieter the Schnauzer! 💙

Lows:
- Sick puppies in the ER
- Multiple heartbreaking hit by car dog cases
- Sick team members
- Holiday event stress

Overall I am so thankful for the people in my life that support me and keep me laughing through it all.

Cats eat string and sometimes a needle is attached.

Swipe to see just a few if the needle cases I have seen in the past. Most times they are in the stomach and can be scoped out.

Sometimes they can migrate out of the stomach or esophagus like in the last case. That can be fatal.

Please keep your sewing string up and away from your cat!

It took me years to let go of my feelings of frustration and hurt over this sexist comment.

Reminder, I am not an expert in topics like this, I just share my personal experiences, This was actually a tough episode to make with my husband as my co-host.

Have you ever experienced anything like this? Have you ever spoken up when someone made these comments to you?

Emergency medicine is full of heartbreak.

This was a tough moment for me and the pet owners.

Cats are historically tough to induce vomiting in. They usually only throw up on carpet when they want to. 😹

To induce vomiting in these cats I administered Dexmedetomidine IM. They both vomited within 20 minutes. It was an awesome feeling!

Anyone using an AI system they really like for charting? ⬇️

We have removed several of these toys from different dogs in the ER! They are too small for most dogs. 🚨

Luckily, we have been able to remove most of them using endoscopy.

Please share with fellow dog owners.👍
