It’s been a challenging time at our sanctuary as we face some unforeseen medical emergencies. Currently, there are three wonderful cats currently hospitalized and requiring urgent surgeries. Your support during this period is more critical than ever.**MaeBell**During our routine preparations for a weekly veterinary visit, we noticed that our sweet blind old lady MaeBell was not her usual self. She was hiding and seemed visibly distressed, shaking and holding her head low. Given her history of battling cancer, we feared the worst and rushed her to see our veterinarian. After a thorough examination, the vet diagnosed MaeBell with glaucoma, a condition causing her severe pain due to increased pressure in her eyes. To alleviate her suffering and save her life, MaeBell will need surgery to remove her eyes.**Binky**The sweet and gentle Binky recently started dropping her food while eating, a sign that something was amiss. Upon examination, our veterinarian diagnosed her with stomatitis, a painful inflammatory condition. To relieve her pain and help her eat comfortably again, Binky requires a full mouth extraction.**Louie**Louie’s situation became critical when he was discovered collapsed in his litter box, unable to urinate. After being rushed to the hospital, he was initially treated and unblocked successfully. However, just when he was due to return to the sanctuary, he reblocked, necessitating another emergency intervention. During his examination, an X-ray revealed a lead pellet near his spine, which needs to be surgically removed to prevent further complications. These surgeries are vital for MaeBell, Binky, and Louie's recovery and continued well-being. We are reaching out to our community for help. If you admire our commitment to providing care and sanctuary for these special cats, please consider making a donation towards their medical expenses. Every little bit helps us ensure that these three can have the surgeries they urgently need.To support MaeBell, Binky
🚨Urgent Assistance Needed for Sweet Louie!
Today, we encountered a heart wrenching situation. Louie was found in distress, collapsed in his litter box and drooling. Despite his alertness, Louie is struggling to walk, especially with his hind legs. We are currently on the way to the vet for emergency care. The cause of his sudden illness is unknown, but what's clear is that Louie urgently needs specialized medical attention.
Louie, who lives with feline leukemia, is more than just a cat, he's a gentle soul who has never met a stranger, feline or human, he didn't adore. Known for his soothing purrs and comforting headbutts, he's always been there for his fellow sanctuary cats, particularly the newcomers. Now, it's our turn to be there for him in his time of need.
Your support can make all the difference for Louie during this critical time. If you're able to contribute towards his veterinary care, every little bit helps.
Donations can be made directly through our website on the “general medical fund”. Please mention "For Louie" in the notes. https://www.catpawssanctuary.com/medical-fund

Hello, it's MaeBell. I'm a really old blind lady. While the rest of the kitty world hustles and bustles this Sunday, you'll find me embracing a Sunday afternoon nap. With the wisdom of my years, I've come to cherish the Sunday naps. Truthfully told, I’ll take a nap any day of the week. Let the whippersnappers wear themselves out. As for me, I'm perfectly content unwinding and taking it easy. #seniorcat #seniorcatsrock #blindcat #blindcatsofinstagram

Hey there, it's Betsy! I’m a double positive (feline leukemia and FIV) girl. Now, I know you don't see me often. The caretakers here like to call me 'feral,' but let's get real, I'm just too royal for everyday sightings. I'm cat royalty and my preferred name is Queen Betsy.
So, the other day, the servants..ammm, I mean, the caretakers 😉 decided they needed a dose of my majestic presence. And what's a surefire way to lure a queen from her palace? Tiki cat canned food, of course! That stuff is my kryptonite. I can never say no to a can of that gourmet goodness.
As I graced them with my appearance, they started cooing and aww-ing, talking to me like I'm the belle of the ball. Sweet, but let's not forget the rules of the kingdom: they can gaze upon my beauty, but no touchy! Paws off the fur, people. I'm royalty! They snapped this picture with my permission so all of you can gaze upon my royal face. Life is good for me here and I love my life even if my servants continue to try to talk me into this “petting” thing. The nerve!

This is the reason why caretakers have two hands according to Franz and Goldeen. The only thing that would be better is if they had a third hand giving them treats.

We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! Thank you for being part of the sanctuary.🎄
It has been an intense journey with Spartacus. He has been in and out the hospital several times. He was first hospitalized when he was thrown from a car and found emaciated and nearly all bones. X-rays reveled a fish hook and BBs in his abdomen. Blood work showed anemia, FIV, and severe infection. His surgery was successful in removing the fish hook and BBs. This last time he was hospitalized his condition took a drastic turn for the worse. He became incredibly weak, barely able to move, experienced severe diarrhea and seizures. He was on every possible medication he could be to address his multiple issues. we feared the worst, it seemed like we might lose him. But Spartacus, true to his name, is a warrior who refuses to give up. Despite all odds Spartacus has gotten better and continues to do so. His journey to get better continues as he still faces medical issues to overcome. He has been hospitalized this last time now for 2 and a half weeks in critical care. He has been getting several injections of different medications daily to help him and it has been working! He has fought long and hard to get this far. It appears that although he still needs to be in the hospital, with a managed medical plan for him he will be able to come back to the sanctuary and thrive. He still needs critical care in the hospital to be able to make it back to the sanctuary. His medical expenses for saving his life are really adding up! His current medical bill is around $5,400 dollars and is expected to go up as his care continues until he is ready to come back to the sanctuary. Please help fight for Spartacus by donating towards his medical care and sharing this post. This sweet boy is fighting and he is winning! Let’s help him continue to heal and become the best he can be.
To help fight for Spartacus you can donate on our website. There is a special medical fund for him on our website. You can call Cole’s veterinary Clinic at (904) 853-6100 where he is hospitalized to donate t
I have won against the darkest of circumstances. Once thrown from a car, victim of cruelty with a fishhook and shot with BBs. I found myself stripped of care and compassion, left to fend for myself in a world that seemed without hope but I was found and saved! I was able to get the medical care I needed and surgery to remove the fish hook and BBs from my stomach. I spent a long time in the hospital. I am strong boy. I am now comfortable at the sanctuary being cared for. I am dreaming of becoming a big cat with plenty of weight on me. I am still skin and bones but I am gaining weight! I have a long way to go but I am strong and doing so well. Thank you to all of those that helped save me! I wouldn’t be here without you! ♥️ #warrior #goodlife #fiv #fivcats #cats #lovinglife #catsanctuary #orangecat
Oskar here, you won’t believe the sheer audacity of the caretakers. They dare to claim that I, the magnificent Oskar, am a bit "big boned" and need to embark on a ridiculous diet. Me, a cat, on a diet? I refuse to succumb to this ridiculousness. I've been perfecting my most pitiful face, practicing my meow of desperation. Sadly, those caretakers are harder to fool than I thought.
That's where you come in, my co-conspirators! I would like you to join forces and secretly send me treats. Let's outwit these clueless caretakers and leave them scratching their heads! So, if you possess the generosity and courage to become a hero in the world of covert snacking, please help me satisfy my insatiable hunger. I've compiled a list of my all time favorite treats on the sanctuary’s chewy list. But remember, this is classified information, strictly for our eyes only. Let's keep those caretakers in the dark while I revel in the glorious delight of secret snacking!
So, my trusty snack smugglers, let's band together! We shall triumph over the absurdity of these "big boned" accusations and reclaim our right to snack. Let's show those caretakers that the true ruler of this domain is none other than the mighty Oskar!

Update on Spartacus: Spartacus surprised us all when he suddenly stopped eating, causing us to rush him to the hospital. After a few days of observation and care, we are relieved to report that Spartacus has regained his appetite and is even gaining weight. It turns out he may simply be a picky eater who prefers the food provided by the vet office. To ensure his well-being and rule out any other issues, Spartacus will remain at the vet hospital until Tuesday. We will be buying the food he loves at the vet hospital for his return on Tuesday. We will keep you updated! Look at this sweet boy!! 😍😍♥️
