V.E.T.S. is proud to announce a generous donation from our friends at Veterans K9Equine Alliance to support the care and feeding of our beloved program horses, Beau and Gump! 🐴💛
Here Board President, Patrick Sullivan, is presenting the donation check to Beth-Anne Tolhurst of Stagecoach Equine, one of V.E.T.S.' incredible strategic partners. This contribution, facilitated by Veterans K9Equine Alliance, ensures that Beau and Gump, who have been cherished members of our program in the past, will continue to receive the care and support they deserve.
Beau and Gump played an essential role in our mission before our program's relocation, and we are thrilled to see them back in the spotlight, helping us serve veterans in meaningful ways.

Motivation Monday!
We love a lush grass field for our horses, but not all horses should have grass 24/7. Gump is one of those horses.
He is a haflinger, bred for the purpose of both riding and packing. Many people feel there are 2 body types of Haflingers, the lighter more traditional riding style, and draft type. Although we ride Gump, I think it’s easy to see what body type he is. 😆
Over the next several months Gump will be on a diet and exercise program to shed extra weight. We love chunky ponies, but the extra weight can cause metabolic issues, body soreness, or long term health issues.
He will be fed 3 times a day to break up his forage. We will also sourcing his vitamins from California Trace. This will allow us to feed him only the grains he needs, and remain forage to be his primary source of energy/calories.

We have so many visitors stop by and see our surprise horse!
That’s right! Last minute I was asked if we were able to take back Gump as well!
It was an obvious yes. But now there are two additional horses to care for!
