What's that you say? It's kitten season again?
As the saying goes, seasons change. Tabby Tales experienced our first kitten season in 2016, but we will not be participating this year. Life changes have moved many of us to different areas of the country and for a season or two, we will be on hiatus from rescue.
Over the last 7 years we have placed nearly 1200 cats into adoptive homes locally or through transport. We've facilitated the TNR of ~250 community cats, spay/neuter for over 50 owned cats and helped provide medical care to several family cats who may have been euthanized or surrendered without financial assistance. It has been our pleasure to serve our community and to provide care for these precious lives.
We are confident that our rescue friends in Savannah and the surrounding areas will carry on with strength and courage. Please provide encouragement to them, as rescue work can often be overwhelming and heartbreaking, and the people involved need your kindness and compassion.
Mahi will continue to say hello often and we will share updates about our adopted cats as we love sharing happy tales. 😻 Thank you for supporting Tabby Tales Rescue and for sharing this journey with us.
🐾🐾 For our Tabby Tales adoptive parents, our email ([email protected]) and FB messenger will remain active if you need assistance with your Tabby Tales kitties 🐾🐾
And this, friends, is why we transport. Congratulations to Dutchess and her new family. 🐾💗🐾
Today is a big day for Dutchess!
After being in our care since May of last year without finding a home locally, today Dutchess flew to New Hampshire where we are hopeful she will land in a cozy lap very soon. (Two adult kitties who went to NH last fall had adoptive homes in less than a week 🙏🫰).
A huge thank you to her foster mom, Sarah, who took the day off from work to fly Dutchess (in cabin) to NH, who cleaned up puke, p*e and p**p during the trip (yes, Dutchess was medicated), and who cared for Dutchess with all the heart and soul of an adoptive mom for the last 10 months. 💗 We could not have done this without you.
Special thanks to Pooler Veterinary Hospital for all the care they provided along the way, including recommendations that gave Dutchess the best chance at diabetic remission. Thank you to Krystal for babysitting, introducing Dutchess to dogs and endeavoring on 'operation get Dutchess adopted'. And thank you to EP for the exam and health certificate. As always, you are a life saver. 😉
And of course, a special thank you to NH Humane for giving our sweet girl a better chance for adoption and for sending a volunteer to meet us at the airport (who promptly gave a butt bath to a 💩 cat 🤦♀️). It truly does take a village. Happy Tales beautiful Dutchess. We are all rooting for you.
Happy Tales Update!
"Coffee bean is doing great as usual, I can’t believe how old she’s getting. Times flies… here’s a picture from last night -snuggling with her sister. I love any excuse to share photos of my babies."
Coffee Bean was a foster fail (success!) Who originally came to us pregnant in the summer of 2017. She had some adorable little lattes and even adopted some orphaned (kitten) cups of tea. 🍵 All of her little ones were adopted and her spicy tendencies melted into her foster mom's loving arms. She's relocated a couple of times and had some bizarre allergy issues, but her amazing mom handles it all. 😻😻
"I am SO in love with Frankie (aka curry) and am so thankful for you all :) he is attached at the hip with me and a very talkative/lovable boy. I bought him a window seat to watch birds recently and he loves it! Attaching some recent pictures!"
Frankie/Curry was adopted in August 2020. 💗
"Gabe is doing great! He's almost 2 years old now. He has such a playful, curious personality, although a lot of times that gets him in trouble. He loves playing with his laser toy every morning, and his favorite part is jumping 6 feet in the air to catch it. He is the sweetest kitty! He snuggles in our arms every morning and even reaches up to us and asks for hugs. He doesn't always love his doggy siblings, but he adores his two kitty siblings. I am still so grateful that Gabe found his place in our home!! Don't tell the others, but he might be my favorite. ❤️"
Gabe was adopted in August 2021. Happy Tales handsome boy! 😻
Adopted July 2019, Coconut was an orphaned kitten who was bottle fed by one of our amazing foster moms.
"Coconut is doing great! He is the most fun, loving, sweet and snuggly kitty! He has been a great addition to our family and great company with our other cat, Rex. They both love hanging out on the cat tree!"
"Athena (Sassy) is doing great! She is fat and happy! We are currently living in Huntsville, Alabama. She loves treats (of course) and laying on the porch soaking in the outdoors. We are so happy she came into our lives so many years ago. She has been such a blessing to our family!
Here are a couple of pictures of her: one good one and one that will hopefully make you chuckle."
Athena was adopted in August 2016. 💗
It's FURiDay! 😻🐾🐾
Enjoy today's happy tales.
"All is well with Georgie. We’ve since moved to Pennsylvania where she enjoys
watching the wildlife with our other cat Mufasa and dog Lorelei."
Georgie was a successful in July 2021.
Look at these cuties! Adopted in Aug 2016, Chess (now named Dorian) and Domino (now named Oreo) have moved to Denver. While their dad says that the drive was stressful for all of them, they have acclimated well. 🐾🐾💕
Happy Tales Update about sweet mama Mandarin, now named Lucy, adopted in Aug 2019:
"My Lucy is doing great! She loves watching the birds, squirrels and lizards through our windows.
Laser pointer is a big hit with her and gets in a little exercise for her. We love watching her when she gets the zoomies or gets carried away playing with and chasing a toy.
She’s friendly to visitors but still not a big fan of being held or sitting in your lap. But will sweetly tolerate my grandkids loving on her. I can usually count on her being nearby wherever I am in the house."
Sylvia was adopted in Aug 2019. 😻
"Sylvia is doing great! She’s happy, healthy, very smart and the best cat ever! She has one cat sister and 2 cat brothers. We’re happy to have the cat like our Sylvia.Thank you."
Adopted in August 2017 - Asha and Ananda, a mother - daughter pair.
Kenzi is extremely proud of her tail - fluffy like a fox's. She will get behind us and wrap her tail around our necks - she even used to do it to our dog ( or dog, sadly, passed away). Fiona is as sweet and loving as can be with people... and even our dog (when she was still alive). Both are doing really well - they love people.
Happy Tales about John and Dill:
"Hope all is well with Tabby Tales! John is doing great, along with his brother Dill who is also a tabby tales kitty. They love to sit in the sun and watch kitty tv (the birds outside). We found out Dill has asthma but he is thriving with just steroid shots! John is just along for the ride and cuddles. They both love when I take a nap because that means John can lay right on top of me and Dill can curl up right next to me."
Happy CATurDay! 😽
Dutchess has been pawing through FB and she's envious of all the happy tales we've been posting of adopted cats. She's wondering why she doesn't have a Happy Tale of her own to share? 🤔 Could you be Dutchess's purrfect match?
Nimbus was adopted in Dec 2020. 💗🐾🐾
Nimbus, now known as Linus, is a bad boy!!! He eats all the treats and expects them every time I walk out of the room!!! He loves to sleep, he loves to make biscuits in my armpit and he talks when he brings me those tiny lizards. He doesn’t mind getting his nails trimmed and he loves to be on the porch watching birds and squirrels. I am so happy to have him reunited with his sister Lucy. Big brother Hank tolerated both of them!!!
Happy Tales Update from a Three-peat adopter! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
We are doing well! All 3 fur babies are happy and healthy and have really come in to their individual personalities in the last year or so. Lincoln has made leaps and bounds with his skiddishness and anxiety. He loves as much attention as he can get when we go to bed in the evening. Kennedy is obsessed with our teenage son and follows him around everywhere. She will even sit outside the bathroom door when he’s in there. She sleeps in his room and sits on his computer when he’s gaming. They are truly attached at the hip. Seely is my love bug. Every day I come home and she chatters at me. She’s pretty lazy and loves a good nap. She looks like she doesn’t skip meals, lol. But she loves to chase around foil balls and 3am zoomies with Lincoln.
Thank you for checking in! ❤️
Mahi has had a rough couple of days. After finding blood in her diaper yesterday we were able to get her in to see one of the amazing vets at the where she had a urinalysis and a spa treatment (that's code for a sanitary hair cut around her private parts). Mahi has A LOT of bacteria in her urine and received both an antibiotic injection and an herbal remedy to help clear the infection. She had a laser treatment to help with any pain or discomfort she's feeling. 😻 She'll also need diaper rash cream applied twice per day (yay me! - NOT 🤪) She was a great patient but is happy to be home and taking in the breeze on the screened porch. I think there's a nap coming on.
Ping and Mushu, now known as Popcorn and Snowball, were adopted in June 2019.
Popcorn and Snowball are doing great. They are really quirky cats. They are both a one human (me) cat. Snowball has developed a relationship with our 2 year old lab but Popcorn wants nothing to do with her. They both sleep curled up under me EVERY night. They have two other feline companions (Lucy and Cookie) who they both get along with but no special relationship, they just tolerate them. Popcorn and Snowball are the epitome of brother and sister. One minute they love each other and the next they are rolling around hissing at each other. I’ve got to say…having all white cats for the first time has been quite the experience but they are pretty great. Thanks for checking in!
Happy Tales Update!
"Captain, Isla and Squeakers continue to be the best kitties ever! We are currently at our family farm where they are enjoying running up and down the long hall of our barndomenium and killing and all country mice that dare to enter their space. They are such a joy to have around and make life so much better!"
Happy Tales Adoption Updates!
Phoebe (white kitty) and Sugar (tabby, now known as Reggie) were both adopted in June 2020 and are doing great. 💗💗💗
"The ‘kids’ are doing great. They are family and I don’t know how I’d live without them.
Going on 5 yrs old."
Mai Tai and Sambuca, now Katie & Spencer, were adopted in June 2018. 💗💗🐾🐾🐾🐾
Happy Tales Updates!
Putter and Bogey (nka Nancy and Sid) were adopted in June 2019. They are doing great and living their best lives. (Tabbies)
Mandy and Bobby were adopted in June 2018 and their parents report they are happy and healthy kitties. (Black house panthers)
"Breesy is doing amazing! She loves to snuggle & give me head bumps to remind me to rub her if I get lazy! She is the youngest of 3 siblings & loves to occasionally torment her older sister, Sunny, all in good fun of course:) I am so thankful to Tabby Tales for my sweet girl. ❤️"
Breesy was a "foster fail" (success!!!) in Dec 2018. 🐾🐾💗
Happy Tales Update about Priest, adopted in Nov 2016:
"Priest is happy and healthy! He’s the one sleeping in our ski pants. Claxton is a new kitty - sleeping on the ski bag😀"
Guess who is officially in remission? 🥳🙌
Dutchess is hoping that this exciting news will help to land her the purrfect lap. As you can see, she's a total cuddle bug.

"Birchy is our precious baby girl and our princess. She has brought us so much happiness and Joy. She loves her two sister dogs and definitely rules the house. She loves to wrestle, snuggle, and play with the dogs. She also loves to play hide-go-seek with her human parents! We are so grateful that she is a part of our lives!"

Loki is showing off his skills. This handsome guy is patiently waiting for his forever home. He'd prefer to be the only pet in the home, and he's enough to keep you entertained. 😻😉 #adoptpurelove #adoptdontshop #cats #adoptcats #clickertraining #savannahga #savethemall
Is it baseball season yet? Here is Loki, practicing his batting skills. Loki is a young adult cat available for adopt to a home without other pets. Here is what his foster parents have to say about him: "Loki is an imaginative cat who is happy to teach his humans the new games he creates. He loves 'playing ball' by wapping Q-tips out of the air as we throw them. When he's bored, he will bring his humans toys. Loki loves to chase and fetch his crinkly mouse. He enjoys learning new games from his humans and will "sit" and "come" (if treats are involved). He excitedly runs around the house with us, chasing strings or just running for fun. After play, he is ready to settle for loud purrs and cuddles with his humans." #adoptpurelove #adoptcats #rescuecats #happycats #allthecats #savannahga #baseball #felinefun
