🐾Adoption Alert 🐾

Sheila (the little golden dog) was found by a Good Samaritan after she showed up at their property in the country. No one came for her, so she became a STARS pup.

Travis & Becky reached out, because they were ready to add a dog to round out their trio. Becky & Travis are long standing members of the STARS family. The other dogs in the video, Roxie & Oliver, are also STARS alumni. They also fostered many dogs for us over the years, so you can imagine our excitement to have them adopt from us again.

Nothing makes our hearts happier than watching all three of these formerly homeless dogs enjoy the PNW weather together simply being dogs ❤️🐾❤️🐾.

🐾 Pupdate🐾

Remember Shadow? She was one of 11 dogs dumped on a rural county road back in September. She sat in rescue for well over 6 months before finding her furever home with prior adopters of ours.

Now Olive, she is living her absolute best life with her family. She gets to go on adventures and enjoy all the love you could ever want for a dog. Check out her swimming skills 🌊 ⬇️

We receive requests to intake animals every.single.day.

We simply cannot fulfill the need of every animal in our area that needs placement and neither can our shelters. We understand circumstances change. Please please be proactive. Please be understanding when a shelter or rescue says no - we are foster based and volunteer run - if you can't foster, we likely can't help. If you aren't actively helping a shelter or rescue, please don't become a keyboard warrior against rescues when they say no or shelters when they have to euthanize for space - there are far more animals in need than there are adopters.

You can make a difference today by volunteering. Our link below has resources for people who need to rehome an animal.

🌈Koopa 🪽

Over the weekend, our new intake with a broken femur began having labored breathing. His foster immediately reached out and we sent him to for further evaluation. After an evaluation, xrays showed massive fluid build up in his chest cavity. He was at risk for infection with his broken leg, but also was suffering from additional illnesses that prevented the amputation. We made the difficult decision to let him go and release his body from suffering. These decisions are always difficult and made with care and the animals best interest.

Keep his foster mom Amanda in your thoughts and prayers. She has said yes to some of our difficult kitten cases that do not always have a happy ending, but we are immensely thankful that she says yes and gives them the chance they deserve.

These cases are costly for our rescue. We want to say yes to these cases, but even when they end up without the desired outcome, we still have expenses providing them with care. We need to raise $1000 to cover the cost of Koopa’s initial visit for his leg and his emergency visit, X-rays and testing from this weekend. We appreciate your support that allows us to continue to say yes 🐾
