Our Story

Hello! My name is Breanna and I am the founder of Bre’s Pawsitive Pet Care! I have always loved animals and my life journey is my motivation for starting Bre’s Pawsitive Pet Care. It started in my small hometown of Port Townsend, Washington. Growing up I had dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea Pigs, parakeets, chickens, and ducks and this is where I spent most of my time. If not at home or school I spent my time at the local pet store where I worked caring for fish, small animals, reptiles and learning about all animal products. I also was very involved in my local 4-H. After high school I moved to Seattle with my kitten Molly and my bearded dragon Bubba. I worked at a doggie daycare and boarding facility inside PetSmart called PetsHotel extending my knowledge on dog and cat behavior. I quickly added to my small family starting with my ball python Theo and then my Dog Isabella. After deciding I couldn't agree with how PetsHotel operated I resigned from PetSmart and went across the street to Petco where I cared for the fish, birds, reptiles, and small animals and further extended my knowledge of pet products. But after my 21st birthday I decided that I needed to move to the sun and found great homes for my animal babies that wouldn't be happy with this move and me and Isabella took off to California. After a few years I met my husband Dustin and we quickly build up a small zoo. First there was Bubba Dustins beloved dog from childhood who instantly became me and Izzy’s best friend. Then there was my bunny Rosie who I rescued from a friend who stopped kids from following their parents orders of letting it free in the woods. Next Dustin brought a cockatiel home on his shoulder who came to him terrified on the sidewalk. Then my 25th birthday present to myself was my beta Esmeralda and her friend Gary the aquatic snail. The final addition to our family is Scooby Doo a rescue german shepherd from our local shelter. Then everything came to a halt when our home was taken by the 2017 Tubbs fire. Amazingly we barely managed to save every life and rush away from the flames just in time. Realizing that I could have lost my animal family made me realize how important they are to me. Not able to stay in Sonoma County I packed up my car with Isabella, Esmeralda, and Gary and drove across country to Atlanta Georgia to live with my aunt for a fresh start. The rest of our family stayed with Dustin as all of this brings out the worst of people and we needed a break. Once finally settled in Atlanta after about 3 weeks of living out of my car I started Bre’s Pawsitive Pet Care in hopes of bringing my real life experience with all animals to change the relationship between owners and their pets with knowledge and simplicity. I hope to bring you the love and happiness I receive from my beloved pets!
