East Coast Maine C**n Rescue (ECMCR) is an organization of dedicated volunteers who are committed to rescuing abandoned Maine C**n cats and placing them in loving environments. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in New Jersey, East Coast Maine C**n Rescue (ECMCR) is a non-profit organization of dedicated volunteers who are committed to rescuing Maine C**n and Maine C**n Mix cats and placing them in

loving, carefully screened homes. All of our Maine C**n and Maine C**n Mix cats are kept in foster homes where they are provided with medical care and personal attention while they wait for their permanent home. ECMCR is constantly in need of compassionate volunteers to handle all the functions that are a part of our organization. ECMCR rescues and adopts in the following states: Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Virginia, Vermont, and West Virginia. Adoption update!

Nelson is getting very comfortable in his new home. Him and his brother, Sebastian, have similar dispositions and they still can’t seem to figure out who is the boss! They playfully chase each other back and forth and take turns hiding in their giant cardboard box and batting at each other around the corner of it. We’ve found that Nelson loves belly rubs and laying on the bed with us at night. He’s been a great addition to our family and he is very loved.

Scone (now Sunny-D) and Crumpet (now Hi-C) are drinking in all their new life has to offer. They have befriended the bunny and other kitty in the home and are working on befriending the dogs. Sunny-D is really growing, and both are wonderfully spoiled.

The Irish twins (now Kíli and Fíli) are doing well and have gotten so big. Fíli is especially fluffy and enjoys a good snuggle. Kíli loves to play and redecorate all the scratcher houses with his strategic chomps. Thank you for all you do to help kitties. Happy New Year!

Adoption update!

“Mako (ECMCR Dixie) and Goose (ECMCR Dash) are both living their best lives and spend most of the day either napping, running around like baby buffaloes, or watching the live bird TV (i.e., the backyard bird feeders). Sometimes, they like to harass their big sister, Biggie, but for the most part, they are sweet angels. Mako is also known as Motorbox Mako b/c she purrs so loudly when happy and excited. Goose is a laidback fella and super attached to his dad at night on the couch. We are so happy to work from home and hang out with this crew of floofs. Thanks for rescuing them for us! ”

Adoption Update!

Cirrus (ECMCR Hyacinth) continues to be a daily source of entertainment, snuggles, and love for us. I can’t express how much he means to our whole family.

He is full of s***k, he can be so naughty (he attacks us when he wants his mid-morning kibble), and is a purr machine.

We find him on the kitchen counters all the time as if he owns them, keeping watch. He does, in fact, want to be a part of everything we do. He is so sweet.

He has very short very monitored outside time almost daily in the summer. He loves to chase leaves as they fall from the trees.

Lately he’s been positioned under the Christmas tree - his favorite place each December.

Nori is such a sweetie! She is on the shy side and will be looking for a quiet, adult only home with no dogs. She will also need a patient adopter who will let her adjust at her own pace. She’s not yet listed on our website as we work on building her confidence.
