We breeders breed to promote exceptional genetics (or good genetics). We are sure getting slapped for doing our due diligence vs. doing irresponsible breeding. Heel, sit and Explore Training: (using the female tense... )
Put the puppy on a leash, hold her in tight and say "their name, heel!" Say loudly and firmly (being Alpha). They will probably resist initially. Hold her in for starters, 5 minutes. Then tell her to "name sit", and push her bottom down. Once she does the b***y on the ground, whether pushed down or voluntarily, praise her and tell her what a good girl she is excitedly. Pat her head, give her a treat. Then tell her "name, explore!" Or some owners say, the word relax. We like the word, explore because we let the leash out and they can sniff and explore. Again, praise her! Then have her sit. "Good girl sit!"Then transition back to heel. "Good girl heel!" Do each command for about 5 minutes. Use your sits as transition commands between heel and explore commands . Then back to releasing the leash with the command, "name, explore!" Again, lots of praise, pats on her head and a treat for each completion of a command. She will get it! Do it each time you take a walk. It's so rewarding when they get it. Its a bit of a pulling on the leash initially when they do the heel. Later on and once trained, rely more on the verbal praising leaving the treats out a bit since you don't want your dog to be treat focussed. Note: when she pulls on the leash, stop and say No pull! May have to tell her to sit to break her from the pulling when she does it.

We just switched the 2 puppies we kept (Blue and Sunny) over to this brand of dog food! We have been feeding them Baby Blue and was adding the Farmer Dog as a topper. We put both the blue and this food next to their food. They went straight to the Bil Jac. Including mama dog. We so happened to bump into a salesman with this company at Pets Mart. He gave us the whole history. They were founded by 2 brothers who were focussed on giving dogs good nutritious food consisting of more meat than grain. They have never had a recall in all their 77 years being in business. They slow cook the kibbles which took years to perfect this part of their process. I am so happy I finally found a great good quality dog food at an affordable price. I also love Badlands Ranch and the Farmer Dog... but they are expensive!
