Fighting to Ending Breed-Specific Legislation, and Restrictions for pit bulls and "XL Bullies"ones who don't fit legislative laws,restrictions, due to look, acts, measurements, or dangerous dog act or just because. BSL or Breed Specific Legislation is a law which creates a number of severe restrictions and regulations for any breed considered vicious or dangerous under a specific state or city law

. Owners of certain dog breeds may be required to:

· Mandatory spay/neuter.

· Muzzle the dog when in public.

· Keep the dog on a leash no longer than 12” when in public.

· Purchase expensive liability insurance for owning a breed that is deemed “vicious”.

· Restrict the dog to the owner’s property at all times.

· “Doggie-house-arrest” means no walks around the block or trips to the park!

· Keep the dog in a specific enclosure at all times.

· Secure property with a 6’ fence surrounding perimeter.

· Ask community members for permission to own a “vicious” breed. The most common kind of BSL in the U.S. completely bans all dogs of a certain breed. Meaning all dogs of the banned breed must be removed from the area by a designated deadline or they will be confiscated and euthanized by state officials without any exceptions. Even dogs that have never displayed any form of aggression are killed. Any owner who fails to comply with these deadlines will face costly fines and or jail time. Contact your local Sentators & House of Representatives and tell them as a citizen you are AGAINST B.S.L. BSL is costly to implement and enforce. BSL has not been effective in decreasing dog bites or increasing public safety. BSL requires an official to look at a dog and “guess” it’s breed. gives the goverment to enter our homes and take our pit bulls (family members) away and kill them, even the dogs who may resemble a pit bull. don't give the goverment the power to violate our 4th amendment with a clearly unreasonable seizure of our dogs. PLEASE SIGN PEITION TO STOP LEGISLATION FROM PASSING THIS!

According to data from the American Temperament Test Society (ATTS), Pit Bulls pass temperament tests 87.4% of the time.

The ATTS is a national non-profit organization that performs examinations of dogs to determine their temperament. In order to pass the test, the animal cannot show panic, strong avoidance without recovery, or unprovoked aggression.

Pit Bulls pass the test 87.4% of the time, according to their data. To put that in perspective, Golden Retrievers, a breed generally considered friendly and harmless, only pass the test 85.6% of the time.

Now, this data does not guarantee that any individual animal will be trustworthy. However, it strongly indicates that unprovoked aggression is not an innate issue with Pit Bulls.

Did you know that “pit bull” isn’t even technically a breed? Pit bull is an umbrella term for various breeds including American pit bull terrier, American bully, and Staffordshire bull terrier.

"Pit Bulls" are not recognized as a breed by the American Kennel Club (AKC). The United Kennel Club does recognize a breed known as the American pit bull terrier, however, the term “pit bull” is commonly used to refer to mixed breed dogs with certain physical traits, such as a muscular body and broad head.
